Bro should have hit me up i have like 4of them now all worked would hookee u up again.. thank you! Glad it worked for you that long. Keep up the great videos
Thank you so much for this video! What I'd like to see is how you disconnect the grey plug going to the actuator as I cant seem to get it to come apart
I know this is anold video but i noticed the dif lock light flashing constantly. I have a 2015 rubicon 500 the 4wd goes in i can hear it then flip the switxh for dif lock i can hear it go in. Should the light flash non stop when working properly
Stick shredded my wiring harness... it was in 4WD (Button Down) when this happened. Plan on replacing actuator instead of rig up the wiring harness. Question is, am I going to have an issue with the key being turned the wrong way when I try to put on the new actuator?
Model: Honda Rubicon 500FM EPS IRS My 4wd has suddenly stopped and I have tried unplugging the actuator connection and plugging back in but no luck still. Do you have any suggestions?
Yessir! Search RUclips actuator vids and I would also pull the actuator 3 bolts, and see if it works off the bike. I would recommend the manual by Sgori! These actuators go twice a year on me!!
Mine goes in and out of 4x4 good sometimes and other times it sticks in 4x4 or 2x4 and the 4x4 light on the dash flashes. Could this actuator be my problem?
Was it showing it lit up on the display or no indication on the display at all? When I push in my 4x4 button it doesn’t light up at all on the display.
@@SomeDamnfoolsAtv ok awesome, that answers my question to what happened to mine lol when I push my button I get no 4WD on my display. SGROI Innovations makes a manual actuator to get rid of the electric so I think I’m going to go with that so I don’t have this issue again
Happy new year my friend!!! Pull the main plastics, and up by the gas tank are all the diodes for the 4wd. Also, pull actuator back off and make sure it works out of the diff. There's a keeway on the diff, small rectangle where the actuator hooks in... turn it with pliers to make sure it hasn't froze up. 12 o'clock is 2wd 2 o'clock is 4wd 3 o'clock is diff lock. Check fluid in diff... and vent line...it could be locked by suction. Hope this helps!!!
@@SomeDamnfoolsAtv I’ll verify the fluids are good and that vent lines are good as well. I’m currently unable to turn the small rectangle with pliers clockwise. I’ll get back to you you this weekend and give you an update.
I change the fluid in it and I unplug the vent tube. Then I tried engaging into four-wheel-drive by turning the front right tire and the knob with some vice grips and still no engagement. Any more ideas? Thanks in advance
@@louiegary unfortunately I don't have any more input. If it just won't engage/disengage by pliers...then it seems as it has a issue within the diff itself. I'm sorry I can't be of more help
You seem like a man that knows a thing or two about a thing or two. Any idea what would be causing the display to flash in and off and get all wonky? I have a 2018 Polaris sportsman 1000xp.
You can turn the key with needle nose pliers. If it gives you trouble, rock the bike back and forth. Also...hook up new actuator and put it to 4wd then install
Pull the 3 bolts on the actuator... pull the actuator out... turn key on and it should work. Turn the key in the diff where actuator went to 12 o'clock... that is 2wd position. Sounds like actuator has gone weak
@@SomeDamnfoolsAtv it just happened today. I’ll definitely do that. But what happened is I took it out of 4wd before I took it out of diff lock because the little piece broke off the diff lock button
Auto parts store and yessir you can use it everywhere! I highly recommend doing one plug at a time and starting bike every couple plugs you grease to be sure you plugged all back in firmly.
I've went through 3 actuators in 3 and a half years. Everyone I know that has a 500 Rubi goes through the same thing. It's nothing that you are doing but the actuators that Honda designed are junk.
Thanks Tim, videos like this help a lot of us who ride and have to fix our own bikes.

Hook the new one up and look at the position, put it in 4wd or just turn the key in the diff

did you ever get a fix for this ?

Yessir! Servo motor gets weak. Also try changing diff fluid before buying a new actuator
I can’t get the actuator unplugged. Been on it over an hour.
@@SomeDamnfoolsAtv thanks.
Hey my 2016 Honda Rubicon won't go into Garrett's got that/on the display and sometimes it goes and sometimes it don't

It wasn't registering anything on the dash when I pushed the button

That's your best option.
I got a brand new actuator and the four-wheel-drive still doesn’t engage. Any Suggestions? Also happy new year to you!

what if you bike is stuck in 4wd, how do you get the key to align up?

My 4x4 won't disengage anymore just tore up this weekend I've tried everything can't get the summabitch to get outta 4x4
how did you get it out of 4?
With that Grease can I put it on any electrical connections on my bike also where could I get it from

What’s the tip to get that clip off for the actuator that you destroyed because I can’t get mine off because I’m having the 4wd blinking issue.
There's a clip on both sides of the actuator plug.
Some Damnfools Atv yea I’m not sure how the other one unclips one is simple but I can’t get the other one
where did you get your new actuator from?
Honda shop
My 4x4 works but it don’t work when it sits on the ground and has pressure on it
Actuator servo motor has gone weak. Unfortunately it's time to replace it...or go with the Sure 4 Sgori innovations manual actuator kit
Look up knight ATV has a kit to delete that electric motor and diff lock for Honda it's bullet proof works like a top
Thanks brother I appreciate it!!! Getting ready to get one for the Rubicon I have now
Won't go into gear I already put a new angle shifter in it
Mine only has 3 wheel drive
