I've never heard of this group before. I can definitely see Minami's passion when she performs and is on camera. She's a much better dancer than vocalist though and I'm glad she's focusing more on her talents in that field nowadays. It sucks that they couldn't get the resources to improve and move forward as a group.
This reminds be of a case with SNSD back in the day. There was a group called CherryBelle from Indonesia and they had a song called “BestFriend Forever” that sounded very similar to ‘Kissing you’. SM didn’t do anything to them but the fans of Soshi over there were not letting up back then, I wonder what happened to them?
Honestly, I thought their MVs (maybe moreso Catchuuu than Happy Day) were so campy it was charming, like the girls were leaning into it. Catchuuu especially was actually a pretty good song IMO and you could tell they loved what they did. I'm sad they didn't have the chance to train more and improve but honestly I don't think they deserved the hate they got, since it was their producer's fault, not theirs.

As someone who has an education in music: Part of our course was copyright. Majority of the time, people won't bother in taking legal action, especially if they know that the other party won't be able to pay the damages. So most likely reason no action was taken is that.
I think if they train their vocals and if they still want to continue with their dreams of becoming idols they could go on a show like peak time in the future cause even though they got of you a rocky start you can see the potential they have so if they still want to perform together maybe something like that would be a possibility
Also I’d recommend ferry blue if you’ve seen that one episode of a RUclips show with solar from mamamoo giving advice to aspiring idols one of the members was on and talked about the struggles of her and her groups debut i think it’d be a interesting topic to cover
While I agree with you on them giving up on RV, I don't think that's why they didn't bother. I imagine the reason is because they didn't really see a point in paying for their lawyers to do anything about it as they company likely wouldn't even be able to pay SM's legal fees, let alone any damages if that is the quality of music video and such they are putting out for a debut artist. Ultimately, it may not have seemed reasonable to them and its likely that they saw any potential damage done by the plagiarism as a non-issue
