As a Boba Fett fanatic, I have to admit those figures look awesome. Just when I thought I had seen every imaginable way to do up Fett, Chris makes these two beauties. If only Hasbro could take some notes and do something other than repaints of the same 3.75 Retro mold and Black Series.
This is a major way you can tell Chris was and still is a vintage Kenner SW collector at heart - he designed a more screen-accurate Boba without turning him into a modern fig. Plus, this version fits right in with the OG figures as if it was the original. Nicely done!
Chris really outdid himself with these 2 movie accurate Fetts. They're both beautifully updated, yet don't look out of place in the classic Kenner line.
Chris Smith is the GOAT when it comes to vintage style figures. He really has a knack for bringing the Kenner design aesthetic back to life with his products.
I love that he was made shorter!!!(Ps I did get a mail away Boba Fett back before Empire came out...played with him for weeks... as a member of the Rebellion !!!😂 I never knew he was an enemy! )Thanks for another informative video Tony!!!
I like these versions much more than the original figure but that one is still very very cool. Nothing can take away the appeal of his dangerous & mysterious look.
My favorite Boba Fett toy as a kid was the 12" version, I actually predicted some of the EU lore by staging shoot outs with IG-88 in my living room and back yard, lol. Great video as always Tony, the fans are doing the best work!
Nobody else is doing anything as well as Stan Solo right now. His Stormtrooper Han Solo, Slave Leia, Oola, and movie accurate General Lando and Black Death Star Droid are beautiful and fit seamlessly with the OG Kenner figs. His reproductions of impossible for most us to get figs like Yak Face or Amanaman are perfect too (including the clear SS marks to show they aren’t vintage. Just added the ROTJ Fett to my lineup. Agree, this is the best yet but still fits in perfect. Now my OG Fett can stand with the ESB bounty hunters, and my Stan Solo ROTJ Fett can stand guard over Slave Leia and Jabba with the denizens of the Palace. Chris Smith rekindled my love of collecting with the opportunity to add to my OG line and Fett is a masterpiece.
Stan Solo continues to impress, thats for damn sure. These Fetts look absolutely stunning! I unfortunately cannot afford this line at the time (between jobs, and re-education arent helping. LOL!) but I'm hoping to come across some luck when I do decide to start shopping. I can only hope some are still available. Thanks for keeping us all up to date, Tony! Cheers!
"And found his rocket firmly glued into his moulded on pack", you can imagine what imagery this sentenced conjured in this kid at heart, I just had to burst out laughing.
My older brother was able to order the original mailaway Fett. The whole reason he ordered it was so he could fire the rocket at me and annoy the piss out of me. I'm sure he was looking to blind me with the damn thing as well. LOL As soon as he saw the rocket was locked in there solid and he couldn't pry it out he threw it at me and said "This thing sucks! You can have it!" he was truly pissed, and my eyesight was possibly saved that day. 😅🤣
Superb new takes. Superior to the original yes. But given the choice I still rather have the original standing against the slave 1. Why? Because despite the imperfections it was still the coolest vintage figure to play with when we were kids - and those inaccuracies are beauty marks in that respect. Can’t beat original. Rose tinted glasses - of course but no toy retro collector takes their glasses off, even if there is respect for newer more accurate sculpts. Also the Slave 1 had many many differences to the movie and so they fit in well together.
Stan Solo figures have been brilliant lately! I still love the Boba Fett Iconicon figure thats one.of my absolute favourites & now another 2 awesome figures. Only thing i would like to see with the ESB Boba perhaps the green being a little darker to match screen accurancy but still a killer duo of Boba Fetts!!😎👍
Man, Stan Solo knows his toys! Mine are to be 3.75 in 5poa once I get out of this rut (blasted back) but I ain't a Kenner style master and I wouldn't try to out do Stan, he once offered to work with me on getting a Leebo made but at the time I hadn't pegged Toys as what I wish to do.
I can forgive the molded into the helmet rangefinder on the original BF figure because I'm sure that the majority of them would've been broken off playing with the figure if they came the way the Stan Solo figure has it.
Its nuts that i went from a SW obsessed kid in the early 80s to a young adult well into the 90s before i ever noticed that the original Fett figures helmet was the wrong color 😬 The power of childhood i guess 😂
It is great! I like the Holiday Special version the best. The colors really pop on the new design. My only dislike is I prefer the Stormtrooper blaster over the àccurate rifle. The reason is only because he holds the blaster better than the longer rifle.
Kenner did a well enough back in 79 as the figures colors were based on the pre pro 2 suit and helmet and not one that was actually used in the movies.
I agree with you that Stan Solo makes the most accurate and versions of both the ESB and ROTJ retro style figures. But for better sculpted more realistic figures in this scale, then look no further than the Hasbro 300th and Forcelink 2 pack Boba figures fornhis ESB look. For the best ROTJ look, the gold standard has been set by the recent VC ROTJ figure in terms of sculpt, paint accuracy, articulation, removable jetpack, correct rifle and soft goods cape. However, even better than these in this scale, but not related to these movies, the best sculpted and painted, realistic and articulated 3.75 Boba figures should go to the VC Morak and the deluxe BOBF figures. Both helmets are superior to previous offerings and can be removable. Jetpacks removable and one even has a removable rocket. Both have accurate weapons and soft goods. In terms of 1/12 scale, the Mafex version of both ESB, ROTJ and Morak figures still hold up strong against their competitors.
It’s good hearing the original voice of Boba Fett in these clips, makes me wish I had gotten original versions when they came out on DVD, Temuera Morrison’s re-dubbed voice for Boba sounds boring and unenthused in Lucas’ “fixing” of ESB, IMHO.
When an independent toy creator creates a better product than a multi-billion dollar corporation, I'd be asking some very serious questions if I owned stock in said corporation.
Don’t quite understand their being worried about a child choking on Boba Fetts original rocket when a child could just as easily choke on any other action figure accessory ie blaster, cane etc which are very similar in size and scale.
The Safety Standards Commission wanted the spring loaded mechanism to be banned, not the missile accessory because it was the firing feature that caused the missile to be shot into the throat.
Hello! I have a rocket-firing boba fett L c.p.g. 1979 Taiwan. It has two missiles and it fires them. In Spain no one knows how to tell me if it is authentic. I have tried to communicate but no one answers my messages. I live in Spain and it is very difficult for me to talk to experts from the US. The cardboard says "offer expires 5/31/79." I think it was one of the Boba Fett that was given away in exchange for 4 proof purchase seal . It is not the cardboard that was sold in stores. Sorry my English is very bad! I have a Boba Fett that launches missiles and on the cardboard it explains that the promotion will end on 5/31/1979. From what I have been able to translate on the cardboard it says that that Boba Fett, was not sold,is in exchange for 4 purchase cuts. Does anyone know how to tell me anything please? It was not for sale, sorry for my bad English.
@@AnalogToys do you mean I'm not listening? Maybe I just don't know anybody who sees it that way, and I know plenty of StarWars fans. Think it might be a fairly niche view. Love the fact these figures fit seamlessly into the original range

The Forcelink 2.0 boba / Han two pack version of Boba is the best modern 5 POA sillouette. once you throw away the pointless play action backpack.
It always looked like 2 Philip head screws just above the rocket exhausts [On the Kenner original fig] to me as a kid
I love that he was made shorter!!!(Ps I did get a mail away Boba Fett back before Empire came out...played with him for weeks... as a member of the Rebellion !!!😂 I never knew he was an enemy! )Thanks for another informative video Tony!!!

Great review, I own the two “ new” Stan Solo version and the new Slave Leia. They fitt perfect in my vintage collection ( 1977 to 1985).😊
Stan Solo Creations is getting better all the time... I can't wait to see what else is planned for 2023!

These look pretty good, I hope Stan Solo could do an Empire Boba but in the same bluish gray undersuit as the original vintage figure
Thanks for the video and the link, got one of each ordered on the way !
As a kid the only other figure that inspired my imagination with it's mystery as much was the 1985 Snake Eyes.

Hey original voice, nice. Only real Boba.
I just wanna say that I appreciate that you used the original voice edits. Thanks Tony! 🤓
Great video Tony! I opted for the ROTJ version because as I love the seedy environment of Jabba's lair 💀 both rule though👍👍
Great video mate. The ESB cardback photo is perfect and as such I have iust purchased and look forward to its arrival
The Sunday morning coffee is going great with this one 😁☕️ Happy Easter! 🐣

I got to see those at a show in March. Very cool figures. I ended up getting the iconacon Bobba
Got my Stan Solo Boba Fetts a little over a week ago and they are amazing. Now I'd REALLY love to see what Chris could do for an upgraded Darth Vader.

I feel like the PotF figure benefits from the bulky look of the line because he is wearing armor.
I got the ROTJ version and just ordered the animated version. Best fetts ever!!

Looks good.
I'd love to get one of these and try to paint it up as Jango Fett or one of Maul's Deathwatch
There is an unpainted version offered as well.
Just got the new screen accurate greedo! Easily one of Stan solos best figures ever!!
Chris is continuously making better toys than Hasbro
I really need to pick up those 2 Fett figures before they sell out.
