For the Big Island the best hotels in my opinion are the Royal Kona and the King Kamehameha Marriott. For Oahu the best are the Hilton Hawaiian Village and the Polynesian Cultural Center Marriott.

I’ve heard Turkish isn’t the super viable option anymore due to availability and their increase in redemption cost I believe 10,000 points right? Would you recommend that still being the strategy or would you try using different airline partner?
Good point! My only counter is even if SW is $300 RT I would be getting 2CPP using my Turkish mikes and I would get to select a seat versus on southwest I can’t
The main way is since I’ve been in this game for a while I have a lot of the best redemptions memorized lol. Also if you google things like “top 10 points redemptions within the US” you can find lists of good redemptions

2 Mistakes I wanted to note:
1) The Royal Hawaiian was built in 1927 not 1913
2) Hanauma Bay is on the south east of Oahu not the north

I would argue Southwest is a better buy for direct flights from SNA to OGG... Worth the $300 round trip per person

Very good question! I would recommend calling Turkish first and make sure they are able to book the space before you transfer
