Amazing story. I felt like I was there next to him. I flew Apache helicopters for over 20 years and I always thought the bravest guys were those SAR guys and MEDIVAC guys. Takes a lot of balls to do what they do!
Ridiculous peace truce for holidays theirs and ours, December 1969. I was in country 2 months and on the 31st got a PH. MY friends flying that day deserve all the respect.
Harry Zinser was my commanding officer. He earned the Navy Cross for that rescue. Great guy.
I was hanging on every word.
Me too
Word... That is wild! Amazing! (Unfortunately the bureaucrats don't mind leaving living men)
Heart pounding story. I can't imagine the emotions you and the others felt that night. God bless the SAR guys.
I have to give my respect to the Navy for their courage on that mission
God Blessed America that night.
Thank You Sir for your story.
I flew with Art Bell after he left the navy. I have been thinking about him allot this week, great guy . Thanks so much for the story.

Was this man flying A - 7 ? Wow ! Survived that ! Incredible --->
Outstanding! Glad they got you out of there. I have a friend who served with SAR 7 in 67-68. Glad he made it home too.
Awesome!
True Grit to you and all those who risked their lives to get you out of there from a former Navy H3 aviator.
Great rescue!

There was a whole lot of ridiculous when fighting that war.

Holy guacamole that was riveting
That Was A Great Story, Man! Did You Keep Flying? Thank You. (Like #223)
You’d think Art Bell would have been able to use his clairvoyance and avoided the mission.
That's some real pucker factor right there.
0:52 art bell was in the navy before coast to coast?
Was LCDR Bell's callsign "Coast2Coast"?
Sierra hotel Sir.... Sierra hotel....
All I can say is DAAAMMMM
JESUS!
unless youve been there, had that experience, words are insufficient…..

Why they didn’t get an MOH is a crime

Hot LZ in North Viet. The worst kind..
You’re a lucky man. It’s a miracle any of you and the rescue team made it out. 🇺🇸🫡♥️
