Indeed. We've had such nice visits with family and friends over the past couple days. Delicious foods (many of which we only eat this time of year), "pop holiday" on the radio, a mostly clean house, Christmas lights, great gifts (received and given)...I love this time of year so much!
@kerrysmiles the problem with the mini dots is a) they don't currently have a home, and b) I take them when I travel and that always feels a bit chaotic when I return.
Yeah, Mia's freckles are adorable and truly I love how her hair ended up looking after I worked on it. I'm really excited to have her (and her little sis, Tess)!
Such a fun range of AG gifts! I especially like the Silly Monkey Doll longer skirt and white peasant top. There is an Ulta near our target. I’m not a makeup person so I d never been in. I know these bslls sold out pretty fast when they were first released and I guess I never imagined that they’d be available still. Imma gonna have to check when I’m there next week. I like the scale of most of the makeup items. Your new girls are really cute. Mia’s wig is amazing!! I haven’t really tried mine in blue, I’ll have to give that a try. She’s sorta been languishing in my collection.
I love that long skirt, too. Grace is planning to make me some more of them but she didn't have enough time/motivation to get them done before Christmas. Mia is one of my favorites! 😍 It’s always so hard to not buy a second one when I find them. Her freckles are just adorable. 🥰 37 is super high on my list. I found her at Once Upon a Child before Christmas but she was priced on the high side. I might have to go back on the off chance she’s still there… You don’t seem to give your dolls siblings that often, so I’m excited for Mia and Tessa. I completely agree with their ages, too. My Mia is the twin of my 38, Maeve, and they have an older sister, Annabelle (33) and a younger sister, Elspeth (Willa). 😊 What a fun Christmas haul!
You're right - I definitely don't make many of my dolls related to each other. This just felt automatic, though. And the ages came to me immediately, too. I love when that happens!
I haven’t bought expensive/upscale mascara in a while but maneater is my favorite! Love that, and the mini opi polish. I also love Mia and all the strawberry blonde truly me dolls, it’s such a pretty hair color.
I haven't used Maneater yet, but every couple of years at Christmas I find one of those mascara samplers they only sell at Christmas (usually at Sephora) and I get enough fancy schmancy mascara to last a while.
Thank you for sharing all of your goodies! I love #37 and Mia as sisters. So sweet. Mia was my 2nd AG doll back in 2012 and I sold her in 2021 to make room for a new girl. She was lovely, though, and her hair was amazing. I think she went to a good new home. I love that you got 2 more dolls but didn't need to add them to your total since they were a gift. :)
Getting two new ones but not adding them to my total feels like a little bit of a workaround, but honestly, it's not like I asked for them in order to "cheat my system". I genuinely didn't know I was getting them. BTW, I'm not fully decided, but I think I am only going to add to the head count by TWO in 2025. We really have such a large, lovely collection that there is PLENTY to enjoy without adding to our doll fam.
I had my Mia and 37 as fraternal twins, but I had too many classic molds and ended up selling 37. I wasn’t super attached. Mia however is my favorite. I sold my original for a stupid reason and thought I could replace her with 37 only to buy Mia again. Not making that mistake a second time. Mia stays! 37 arrived new with looser limbs, btw, very common for 2011-2012 era dolls. Great haul! I finally found the Mini Brands books so I got those in my stocking. I can’t resist tiny books, even though the scale is better for mini dolls.
I do wish the Mini Brands books were more to scale. Honestly, I'm so impressed by the scale of the Ulta ones. Overall, best size for AG of all the mini brands series I've ever seen!

Oh my goodness, the organization struggle is REAL. One of my overarching projects/goals this coming year is to use a home organization journal and really make some changes to a) what's IN the house and b) how it's stored/organized. Wish me luck!
The dress Ariel is wearing looks like the perfect dress for a New Year's Eve Party!! If you had the boys outfit with the suspenders, I think that would complement it nicely. The BoHo (I think that's what you called it) outfit (brown long skirt, and I think it's called a croptop) has a bit of a southwest feel, and would look cool on Josefina.
Yeah, I had checked for the Sweet as Jam outfit and it was out of stock. I ordered it when I got a notification that it was back in stock. Then you posted it in our group message and Grace said, "I have that one on my wish list" and I thought, "she better not buy it for herself before I get a chance to give it to her" lol

I am VERY cautiously optimistic about the year to come. Politically I'm terrified and in terms of general "state of the world" stuff, I'm not feeling so optimistic either. But I have some pretty daunting goals for the coming year (not doll-related) in terms of budgeting and home organization and if I an even come close to meeting them, it's gonna be a REALLY good thing. I hope that even though it was quiet, you had a nice Christmas :)
@@agtakesover It was fun but as you say I had to reevaluate some financial decisions etc. If nothing else I hope these coming years teach us how to value and take care of each other. The political landscape is terrifying. I hope midterm elections make some changes. We need to focus on the state lawmakers currently and make them actually work for us to make some changes on a local/state level regarding education, health care etc. as the federal funds may not be available to support these programs etc. We need to take advantage of more power going back to the states. My girls use a lot of education services and depending what happens i may have to put them in private school for them to get what they need. I am ready for the fight no matter how it shows up. Never give up we all have the right to Life Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness..
I love that you got 37!! She has always been a surprise favorite of mine. And agreed, I’ve always thought she and Mia could be sisters, and then 61 (my Maddie) could be their older sister. She has green eyes and different shade of red hair but it’s close!
I got a few of those mini brands and I recently got one from my mom on Christmas. I love the makeup ones because of how great the scale is! My boyfriend also got me 26 for Christmas who I asked for because of how nostalgic she is to me. She's also my first Addy mold. Once I finish cleaning up, I am gonna share her and her personality in my doll lore on ig.

I got Molly's Christmas dress complete it's taged pleasant company 1993 which is so cool it's Now the oldest thing I have in my AG collection. Now I am tempted to going down the eBay route for finding other doll outfits I've been wanting from American Girl since I was 10 but haven't yet.
My 2 nieces got my life as Walmart 18inch dolls their American Girl dolls to a 4 year old and 2 year old and they Love them so much. The dolls hello kitty 50th anniversary dolls with a balloon and hello kitty purse

We have two Harper Iman dolls and two Hearts for Hearts dolls, but I have NO interest in going down another rabbit hole lol. I hung a little dollar tree basket on my wall with thumbtacks that holds my glue dots, my mini doll sized command hooks, and clear elastics!
So smart! One problem is that I take the glue dots with me and then forget to put them back in the same place. I'll try this and see if it helps :)

Does glue dots hurt the dolls vinyl?
Nope. I mean, I've never left them on for years - just a couple mins/hours usually because I use them for photo shoots.
