I agree with most of the stuff here except Mbappé being better on the left wing. He’s definitely not bad but he doesn’t defend which creates a huge issue with the balance of the team. And the guy which says it’s Mbappé best level is just plain stupid. He won World Cup at 18 being the best player by far and nearly won the 2022 as well single handedly. And performed very well in ucl until 2 years ago and his ego issues. Mbappé needs to let go of his ego and start playing again. Or it’ll be one the worst waste of talent ever witnessed in this sport.
Surely mbappe was told that he’d be the number 9 when he joined, but his ego is just getting in the way. He says he plays better in the left wing but it shouldn’t matter because you’re still playing up top. Look at how raphinha plays CAM, LW, RW, or even a center forward. He just knows that he’s gonna have to work in that position and not put the blame on a position change for any poor decisions and performances
Raphina Said that when he saw yamal, he know he would have to adapt and work hard in other position, he doesnt feel like a Superstar. Difference mindset of mbappe.
It's a new environment for mbappe. He doesn't know how or when the ball is gonna be played by his teammates. He needs at least a season to settle down. Some players are good at adapting some are not. Even the great leo messi scored 6 goals in his first ligue 1 season. I think it's a known fact that he doesn't like to play outside his comfort zone. It has nothing to do with ego.
This Mbappe issue is quite similar to the problem with Coutinho and Griezmann at Barca, big money signing who's best position is the same as the best player at the club (Messi at Barca and Vini at Madrid). You can't really drop them because they cost so much money and is a big name, but it creates so much conflict in the team that the level just drops.
Generally agree but Coutinho was a left winger or left center mid. Clearly his position wasnt his problem. Griezmann had no reason to be at Barca his position was a number 10 or as a second striker which never existed there.
@Stego1819 no coutinho wasn't a winger, he was more of a playmaker or a number 10, pretty much the same as messi, but messi being there forced the coach to put coutinho on the left wing
Not only was Henry a player I felt was Balon D'or worthy when he played, but as a pundit he spots things and points things out. I trust his opinion and observations more than other pundits that look at a stats screens that never tells the whole story, with Henry there is no bias, just evidence.
Yeah and he got to play where he wanted anyway. And then they made Benzema do all his running for him so he could do whatever he wanted (or not do what he didn''t want to do). The whole team basically played for Ronaldo.
@@itsinthetreesitscoming7431 come out of jealousy and think rationally. They tried him in mid, wing and at CF, he gave results and when a player gives result then any team would then like him to offer wherever he wants to play and at whoever's position but need to prove him first. And talking about the whole team playing for Ronaldo, Argentina does for Messi the same and PSG did for Mbappe because they are good player and so was the Ronaldo at Real Madrid. IMO it's all Perez' fault. As usual, he simply wanted to hire a big name, without any consideration about the strategy or anything else. He already did the same in early 2000's : the team was super good and balanced, maybe could improve in defense, so what did he do ? Hire 5 forwards big names (who will actually never do anything, like Owen for exemple...), and replace Makelele, ,the only defending midlefield player, who was the one who actually balanced the team, by Bekham. Result : team wasn't able to play anymore because they had like 20 forwards and nobody to defend etc. 20 years later, he does same thing : the team is OP, balanced, won tons of titles. Team might be needing a new 9, and some side defenders. What Perez does ? Hire big names, forwards. He hires a player, Bappe, who is litterally the lower version of his own best player (Vinicius), and spend tons of money for that. Meanwhile, they also spent 50+ millions on a young 9 (Endrick), and not let him play because now they have to use Bappe because he costs an arm and a leg, and they now have a weird team with no balance, half of players wanting to be the left winger, and they still have no 9 ... What is the point ? And last, they are now in trouble because the same exact dude, Bappe, is a crying princess, wanna be the star, criticise every thing while doing nothing himself etc. And now they are thinkin about firing Ancelotti, the best manager in the world who made them won some Champions, and might also loose some players (Vini?), all that just because Bappe is crying too loud ...
I mean there is a reason why he is not a football manager. He is a businessman, he knew getting Mbappe is a good business. Do you know that the 1st year Beckham in RM they sold 1 million shirts? That just to show a snippet of how much eyes were staring at RM just because of him. Ofc after that there comes sponsors, ads, etc. Heck even a peanut factory in my country become an official sponsor for RM. Yeah, they both are good for business. For football? Not really. You've explained a lot and I can only agree.
Yeah, but still, every God blessed winger at some point moved into the center. If team cant find a center that is not way worst than the winger then the God blessed winger have to move into the center, like Messi and Ronaldo did and like Lamine i believe will do at some point. He was signed as a one in a generation talent, he is expected to move into the center, maybe he will adapt. Ronaldo moved into the center maybe at about the same age or later(as he joined Benzema in the center after Higuain left), Messi maybe earlier.
I don't believe that Ancelloti is completely innocent tho. His style of play is letting the players have a lot of positional freedom and that's just not what the team needs upfront. Kroos, his favorite holefixer, who basically held this whole player freedom show together by being one of the most accurate and most progressive passers in the world, is also gone instead of Modric which he and Perez likely didn't plan for and now they don't even have a build up leader but instead a Bellingham and Valverde who both are very forward thinking. They desperately need an Alaba in build up as inverted fullback or even midfielder like how he was used at Bayern or just a new 6/8 hybrid like how Xabi got immediatly replaced with Toni and the defense line needs to overhauled big time in every scenario.
@baptistebos69 You mean the couple of matches where he wasn't lazy? He was a beast, that WC final hattrick was incredible, when he decides to play he's one of the best in the world. Doesn't change the fact that he's lacking in workrate and mentality most of the time.

Bellinghams stamina is just built different and his devotion and commitment for the team is on another level while mbappe is taking it easy. I agree with theiry mbappe should take notes and ask bellingham how to play like this to better the time.
in the modern game, either you have crazy creativity and can pick teams apart with one ball, or you run like bellingham and raphinha runs. no in between. Mbappe is not good enough, he has no creativity, plays with his head down, there's no excuse for such a player to not run.
@@shahir1395 Agreed I grew up watching 90s football when the star player was allowed to be lazy, but in modern football with fitness/sports science/data through the roof, no-one should get away with it. @@bruno5137 exactly, if madrid players actually pressed consistently throughout a game, with the pace they have up front, they could close down CBs and GKs on a regular basis. If they found replacements for kroos and modric, and make their forwards run, it would make life easier at bernabeu, but instead, ego wins and we get to laugh at them
He is not lazy, he just doesn’t know how to play as a nine. He doesn’t have any presence in the box and he is not known for scoring with his head. What he has to do is watch film of himself and the best strikers ever. I think a good example would be CR7 his movement in the box is super good but also look at other types of Strikers.
I think it’s the opposite he wants to be a playmaker like Messi or Benzema but he is absolutely not that type of player. And at the same time he can’t stay in the box as he is bad at pure 9. He can only sprint on the left wing but Vini is already doing this and better than him
It is tempting to sign the best players when you have a ton of money. Barca did it with Coutinho, Dembele, Griezmann. When Neymar left, they needed a LW, what did they do? Sign Dembele - a RW. They moved Suarez to the LW to accomodate Dembele and look what happened. Then Iniesta left, what did they do? Signed Coutinho who is a 10. They tried playing him at LW but ofcourse it didn't work. Then, for whatever reason, they spent another 100m on Griezmann to replace whom? The same thing happened with Frenkie de jong who was meant to be a Busquets replacement and ended up having to be played alongside him. All this made the club almost go bankrupt. You don't sign players because you WANT to but because you NEED to.
Signing Mbappe is the biggest mistake RM have made in a long time, if they were going to sign a striker, they should have signed an actual striker like Osimhen, not a winger that reluctantly plays striker and arguably doesn't know what he's doing. Feels very much like an early Galacticos signing - just sign him because hes good, no consideration on if he fits or how and where he will play.
Way his tone is, sounds like he is blaming everything on mbappe...but focus on his words, problem is mbappe and Bellingham...no 10 should be giving the Line breaking pass and specially when Kross left....but no.10 keeps playing as number 9 .and number 9 should be running in behind...but he is waiting for ball at his feet and others to do the progression... This was problem at PSG...but people blamed messi even selflessly played deeper to progress and playmake...

@ryanergo754 real question is what Madrid needs... Madrid need piercing passer .... Some one who can break the lines by single pass.... Number 10 are meant to de that along with their forward duties... Bellingham does defend and olay forward.... But does he provide any line breaking pass from the deep?? No.... I know he is good at other things but it still raises question... If Bellingham is gonna play false 9 then their is no place for mbappe in the center... If mbappe is not not center then where will vini and mbappe play when their is only one left wing spot... Not everyone is Rodrigo, willing to sacrifice his natural position just for the team.... If mbappe starts putting numbers from spot then its Bellingham and tchoameni which are then not doing good enough job... And defense is not disciplined at all..... Mbappe was so good at dominating the wing in an attacking sense and almost doing it alone that no one questioned his football intelligence which is archaic.
He works well with space and pace, nothing else, that's why it works In France and worked In PSG, he had other players to Fiol His lack of Tactic awareness, yes not a clinical dribbler either, so he has a hard Time dealing with pressure In close space
The fact is that he lacks football intelligence and has a big ego..not taking away the level of talent and skills he has but he will never dominate like Messi and Ronaldo etc did for decades due to their work ethics ❤
How people can be criticising Bellingham at the moment for not scoring goals is beyond me, he's the hardest working player out there doing all the dirty work he shouldn't have to be
Mbappe already knew he would have to play as a 9 at Real. He must have been mentally prepared before coming here, given the strong transfer rumors over the last two seasons. He's 25 now-when will he learn to play as a 9? Otherwise, he might end up as a backup to Vinicius.
I thought he would've gone immediately out on loan because there's no way he's getting meaningful minutes in that side. Even Rodrygo is having his minutes cut now recently
@@selg865 brother he's barely 18 years old, vinicius wasn't great either when he had just arrived at madrid but they nurtured him, gave him minutes every now and then
Coaches need to sit those players down and show them compilations of Inzaghi and Chicharito and say "look how many goals these gusy scored from making those runs, you're way faster and have way better technique, imagine how many goals you'd score if you played like them". I swear, every damn time my group of friends played soccer growing up, our worst player would end up with the most goals, because unlike the rest of us, he kept making runs into the penalty area and scoring tap-ins instead of wanting to dribble and playmake. Sure, he missed the ball half the time he threw himself at it, but he got himself into goalscoring positions time and time again, and that's what actually matters.
@@gokuvegeta9500 Sure, but part of being all-rounded as a striker is making the right runs at the right times, which is something those kind of strikers excelled at. Not everyone can learn to be a world-class poacher, but the amount of times I see the ball played between centerback and fullback for an overlapping winger, only for the striker to not bother sprinting five yards into the penalty area these days is bizarre. If you're leading the line, you gotta make that first run, not hang back and hope that the defenders will drop deep without anyone pushing them to do so, letting you get a free chance from the penalty spot.
@@gokuvegeta9500 Nah, I'm not buying that. Anything that looked offside got flagged for offside, and wrongful offside calls favored the defense, not the offense. Bellingham is doing the job here, he’s really hard working, nobody tries as hard as Bellingham in the team, especially front line players like Mbappe, he should be doing like non stop pressure, like Cristiano did in his first years for Real Madrid.

I've been saying it for at least half a year, signing Mbappe is a way to ruin the team. Not only he doesn't deserve to play here after what he pulled off in the previous negotiations, but the team didn't need him. The team needed a striker, a pure 9 to replace Benzema, not an overrated player that's only ruining the attack. This is spot on. It's basically two 10s/false 9s, but only one of them is tracking back and making runs. Bellingham acting as a 10, 9, 8 and 6 and Mbappe a poor version of a false 9.
It's not that weird, a false nine too has to make runs in behind sometimes when the defender follows and he can accelerate in behind it's just that Mbappe best attributes are his speed and carrying and not tight spaces dribbling, so a false nine isn't that good for him. Hi also lacks that timing, shooting and tactical awareness of a real number 9
He is playing the very new pesition ''non existant 9'', the plain is to make your team get used 10 v 11 and when they finally bench mbappe, the team is gonna feel like they are 12 players on the pitch

He doesn't seem to have realised football is a team game, or that he needs to actually give 100% when playing against the best teams in the world.
Carlo didn't sign Mbappé. The board did, and told Carlo to make it work. That's why Carlo can't just bench him. Similar to PSG signing Neymar regardless of whether Emery wanted him.
Everyone except for Perez knew it was a bad idea. Mbappe is not a 9. He's left attacker. But you already have Vini better than him. Stupid decision to sign him.
Mbappe is a great player, not a super talent. But he played with France when he was young in 2018 and won the world cup with mainly his teammates efforts and a little bit fromchis side, since then his ego grew a lot and PSG fed that monster in him.

Totally agreed. Decades go by, but Perez still can't deal with his childish "Galacticos" dream.
Not really. You've explained a lot and I can only agree.
i agree, perez looks like a child while verstappen is probably the GOAT

He is playing the very new pesition ''non existant 9'', the plain is to make your team get used 10 v 11 and when they finally bench mbappe, the team is gonna feel like they are 12 players on the pitch
@@Hunter-e7e "non existent 9"😭😭
Mbappe actually has what it takes do all the off the ball movements breaking the defense line when he fully accepts the 9 spot
Mbappe must of wondered why is Jude running?
Madrid caused this. Mbappeh gave them false hope and rejected them like a child and they went for Bellingham. After getting Bellingham, they don't need Mbappeh but Perez and his obsession with big names is at work. 😂😂😂😂
As a Barca fan, I love what I see.
They buy big names, we create big names out of nothing 😂😂😂😂😂.❤❤❤❤
So Mbappe is not a tactically aware player.
Mbappé is just a good runner.
@@romariosalas2649😂😂😂😂 stop the disrespect man the guy aint number 9
@@cosmasrealestateconsultant that's true, I know he's a winger. My point still stands though, he's not a well-rounded football player, his tactical understanding of the game is horrible, he puts no pressure on the opposing team, he makes no sacrifices to defend. He only wants to be served good passes with plenty of space to run, hence why he's only a good runner. In any other situation of play he's mediocre or worse. Modern football demands much more than that from every player, let alone one who wants to be considered one of the best.
@romariosalas2649 okay thats true if you put it like that
Facts! Mbappe is actually a Winger offence than a central striker number 9
Mbappe's natural position is Left Forward.
Selfish. No such thing as that. He should level up his team play
Excuses 🥱
if that's the case Jude shouldn't be doing the work of a 6, an 8 and a 10 because the other guy can't move his ass. just excuses, since always Mbappe had the football intelligence of an orange.
That's not selfishn. That's his playing style. Go and understand football. Madrid don't have a cf. Vini and kylian are both wingers. They need a Benzema, Giroud kind of cf. @@sydneyashiona6672
then why agree to join a team with the best LW in the world currently, after rejecting the same team 2yrs on a row?? stop dickriding and show the turtle the video of ronaldo when he joined RM, where he says he does not have a preference, he can play on the left, right and centre if needed, he just wants to play. that should be the attitude.
Henry, Pires, Ljundberg, Bergkamp...these guys made me cry so much as a young man united supporter 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Anceloti responsible for this
No, mbappe was bought from Perez. Still I think needs time this new real. Lets see how the season will go
@gandgpolaroid6406 talking about strategy
No he isn’t, he didn’t want mbappe
He's really not
Madrid coach have no say on player, the club decided who to buy and its working most of the time for them
Maybe it was coaches instruction and not a repitition of error. Mbappe was offside 7× vs Barca. Perhaps the coach was experimenting
I also think it could have been a strategy
Mbappe is staying behind on purpose to drag the defenders and that creates space for Bellingham to get in the opposition box without much interference. Dont understand why Mbappe does not follow up the action tho , he seems lost.
Why would a striker create space for a midifelder
It's called a false 9?
@@Azer-v6uMbappe has never and can never function as a false nine. There are some things people are not made for. For Mbappe, that's false nine. Mbappe is just lost in Madrid
His whole career he played an inverted Winger who plays in the box or a deviating 9 you might say. Give him some time hell be world class at 9 with his technical ability and speed. He's adapting to a new league and a new position.
@@Azer-v6uBut he is not a false 9, that’s the whole point.
He was brought in as a striker, a goal getting machine who will run defenders off by staying with them, not behind them creating space for Jude.
Completely fine... midfielder running for the box is harder to defend, also if Bellingham can control the ball, he'll either shoot or pass it to a coming striker (e.g. Mbappe), also hard to defend.
I dont think this is why Mbappe is having a hard time. Mbappe rarely has really bad games, hes just not top-level right now. Give bro more time
exactly bro
Henry > Mbappe
Yet he has less ego than Mbappe
That is the reason why he was better, not a separate thing
Endrick is the real 9 of this team 😶🌫️
😂😂😂😂
Isn't he the one who said "Mbappe is a complete footballer last year" 🤣
I can see Jude doing all the work.
Could very much be a tactical choice..
yes, Anceloti responsable if this continues
False 9 tactics knowing defenders focus will be more on mbappe to provide chance creation with Bellingham running behind...but backfired
mbappe best quality is his pace lol tactical choice
Nothing tactical about losing
If this is a tactical choice then it's really bad
It has more cons than pros
Mbappe is practically useless here and he is not even using his pace which is his speciality
Titi didn't expose him, he exposed himself. Mbappe grew up watching inverted wingers cook, that is his profile, he has no knowledge of playing as a striker, and the movements that entails. He needs the ball played to feet, and he wants to run at people, he's not prolific at anticipating spatially, and getting on the end of things.
Also, he's pretty average height so he can't head that much
Sorry, but is Bellingham here not the one who keeps playing out of his position?
are you brain dead??????
You may be right...we don't know what's asked of them. Looks like Kylian is pretty much stationary in every single example here. Someone's gotta do his job.
If Ancelotti has asked Kylian to stay motionless in order to be a foil this often I'd be really shocked.
@@ggates2500 naa Mbappe js a terrible number 9
what's there to do in his position that he sticks to it. there's no point of creativity if your 9 is not cutting through the defenses.
smart improvisation by Bellingham, he's the only one with a work ethic and leadership close to Valverde's
You knew, I knew, everyone knew that Mbappe in this team would make things harder for Madrid.
Any Real Madrid fans who protect Mbappe must go to hell,,this guy is not good not good at all,,why we sold Joselu that was a striker, now we stark with Mbappe,,but we got Endrick and that guy is hungry and plays way better then Mbappe but Ancelotti do not let him play,,shame on Mbappe shame on Ancelotti,,this is why even franch national team lleft him
He was injured that's why he didn't play for france lmfao.
You're speaking as if you're Messi or smthg
Saying RM fans should go to hell for protecting someone is wild. It's just wild. says a lot about you.
Wtf man? Mbappe is absolutely world class, but not as a no. 9. You have in the same team probably the best left wingers in the world, it's going to be difficult to keep them both happy, things need to be sacrificed and they both have big ego's
I think they should have left a natural no 9 like joselu on the team Nd interswitch between mbappe Nd vini on the left flank as it appears both can't coexist together maybe vini can play first half Nd mbappe plays second half on his best position
Humble opinion though 😊
It's not about Ancelotti, it's about Florentino and all the accionistas. Mbappe's shirts sell more than Endrick's
Perhaps play Bellingham as the 9 and Mbappe as the 10?
Now you have 4 player who doesn't track back😂
what if this is what ancelotti wanted them to do, because i refuse to believe he just watched this and didn't call them to fix it and mantained it until the end of the game
Guler, Brahim and Endrick need to be playing more.
Henry is probably thinking that it's blasphemy to ever mention this guy and Messi in one sentence. I knew he would be bad for Madrid, but dude, it's getting ridiculous 😂
Number 9 is drawing 4 defenders and leaving space for his teammates
an older guy near my house always told me and my friends this "Mbappe is as average as they come just wait until he goes to United, Barça or Real and you will see" we laughed at him at the time... guess he wasnt wrong
He's clearly not average as an overall package, because of his speed, technique and goalscoring ability, but he's far from the player people expected him to be based on what we saw when he first appeared on the world stage. He doesn't seem to have realised football is a team game, or that he needs to actually give 100% when playing against the best teams in the world.
False 9 is a garbage strategy anyway. Never works, unless you have Messi
Thierry Henry--What are we talking about here🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️😂
Dude has such a cool accent
It could easily be Ancelotti's tactic to play Bellingham this way over Mbappe who could be just a bait.
Carlo didn't sign Mbappé. The board did, and told Carlo to make it work. That's why Carlo can't just bench him.
Similar to PSG signing Neymar regardless of whether Emery wanted him.
I can't disagree with ol' Henry here. And he sure gave us a batting in 2006, when we had the most jacked up team ever.
Everyone except for Perez knew it was a bad idea. Mbappe is not a 9. He's left attacker. But you already have Vini better than him. Stupid decision to sign him.
Mbappe played a false nine and Bellingham played as true nine. This is the most Sun Tzu tactic I have ever seen in football
Lol bellingham is not true 9. Both mbappe and belingham is false nine.
Of course noone talks about Ancelotti's faulty tatctics because we have Mbappe as a scapegoat
this is what ive been saying, everyones putting the blame on mbappe like its not the coach telling him what to do.
Mbappe is a great player, not a super talent. But he played with France when he was young in 2018 and won the world cup with mainly his teammates efforts and a little bit fromchis side, since then his ego grew a lot and PSG fed that monster in him. Now he thinks he's the best when he is not at all. He should reset and start over by being humble as a first step. If he couldn't win psychologically he might end up ruining his future.
One of the reasons why i think that on the field Mbappé should rotate with bellingham instead of rotating with vini and rodrigo , but then again , his defensive game is very bad...
Henry was at LW too, but when team need him, he can play the 9 position no problem. Mpaypal however....
Cubarsi traumatized Mbappe.
Things like this make you appreciate Karim Benzema even more. He was in the build-up and also the guy making runs.
Mbappe was never a 9. Either he develops the skills like Ronaldo did or he will get benched consistently.
Real needs a proper 9 like Yokeres.
Lukaku had this guy to advise him
Yet he messed up big time at Chelsea and InterMilan. Especially, at Inter, he was talking with Juve behind the Inter fans back.
Where can I watch this ? This is so helpful for my football matches too
He is absolutely spot on in this one
