- Which one will grow the tallest? I started off with a Red Abyssinian and Grand Nain banana plant last year, and this year I added a Mysore banana and planted it next to the other bananas. The Mysore was the smallest and the Red Abyssinian and Grand Nain were recovering from the winter with new leaves.
I am hoping the Mysore and Grand Nain will produce bananas to harvest and eat in a couple of years. The Red Abyssinian does not produce edible bananas. But it is one of the prettiest banana plants around.
The Grand Nain grew some offshoots this year, and I propagated a few of them to grow more of this variety. I am surprised that the one banana plant that grew the tallest was the Mysore since it was smaller than the other two that were already established.

I bought my Red Abyssinian when it was very small.

I didn’t fertilize it when it was small, I think I started when it was about 2 feet tall.
Hello I wanted to ask, is your Tree Fern still alive? thanks.
Yes it is, it suffered transplant shock and all the fronds dried up. In the last couple of months new fronds started growing. I will make a video of its progress in the summer.
@@Tropifornia Thanks for answering!
@@Tropifornia Glad it survived!
