Thank you for shwing your learning process. It motivates me that i can get back into skating and also learn some tricks. As I was young, I always wanted stunt skates but simply could not afford them after I have bought expensive 90 mm skates and regreted it.
Great review! I was especially interested in royales, and you appear to be on the exact same level of skating as I am, so this video is ideal information!
nice that you included your thoughts in a month of usage. I am getting Aeon 80s as i got 60s with 64mm wheels and antirockered. BTW 64mm fit on Aeon 60mm skate in front and back without any mods. Never had problems with shock absorber and even had second one included in the box, never had to use it. Didn't do any huge gaps this season though, straight jump 8 stairs were fine.
I think the comparison was based on me being on Shifts for months prior. They're really like pillows compared to any other skate I've tested. I have a set of Aeon 60 boots here which I'll be setting up in a few months, see how it compares to the v13 and Seba CJ I'm used to now.
When you're trying something new, skates or tricks, go full speed. It looks like you're going too slow and are afraid to commit to the trick. If you pick up the speed and are comfortable with you might fail, you'll do better overall.
Yeah, that's the tradeoff with doing a weekly video. I'm assuming most people aren't watching them all, or if anything would like all the "impressions" curated into one edit. Thanks for watching!
You just need baggier pants! That's the secret! Have you skated fifth elements? How do they compare? Especially since you can rocker them into 62mm wheels
I hate to ask a dumb question, but could these possibly be used for cruising at least decently? I love aggressive skates but im also somewhat attracted to urban skates for their ability to sail more smoothly and cover ground easier, and I felt like these skates could be a good fit, though I could be totally wrong
Oh for sure! They're really great for skating fast. The big wheels and the quick response are a killer combination. I hear they have an 80mm version coming, which might be even better for that.
You should listen to the podcast =) backtoblading.com/podcast They've been testing them for a while... instagram.com/p/BZ6BGoZlqKG/ ruclips.net/video/noAzxf4O_6k/видео.html
I was thinking this exact thing. I’m 40 getting “back to blading” and I love the park, etc. but I also love crushing and urban type skating on larger wheels. This skate looks like it would allow me to even have a few wheels I could shift between and perform well for flat skating. Thanks for the info and review!
Hi. Buying first skate in a while. I tried on a 80mm skate at the store and the wheels felt big. Would i be able to buy a 80mm and just replace the wheels with 72mm wheels. I want to ride around the enigborhood as well as ride around the skate park (no grinding). Thanks.
Hi, another question if I may. Did you had a chance to skate 72's any longer, did you try them with smaller wheels? Can you compare them to Aeons 60 by any chance and to any other skates like shift? I'm not quite sure whether to stay with 72 and just use smaller wheels or switch to aeons60 or shifts. Would you say it's worth staying and learning grinds on those?
Thanks, I will be looking forward to the review. However today I had an amazing session on my 72, grinds are getting better so my anger towards big wheels has decreased
@@BacktoBlading watched this video and your aeon 60mm video a millions times. Im on the fence with what I want. I started skating 6 months ago. I have only ever skated with my razor cult creams. Im a heavier guy and get tired and skate slow with antirockers. I want to maximize my speed to go higher in bowls and eventually air but I worry the 72mm would make me not able to grind anymore and Im a fan of eulogy wheels and so there would be no 72mm replacements.
Best thing to do is measure your foot in millimeters. Wear your socks and put your heels against the wall. Most of the skates will have a conversion from standard shoe sizes (which is just a silly number) to cm. I'm in a size 10 Aeon, and my feet are 28.5cm. My hunch would be you're in the 7.5-8, but you should really make sure.
Take a look at Rollerwarehouse, they have a good size chart: rollerwarehouse.com/USD-Aeon-2018-60mm-White-Black-Skates.asp I would get the 8's if I had your feet.
Hello im thinking get those blades, actually im in to freeskate with Seba FR1. Im begginer in Aggresive, but i want blades to keep in freeskate. Basically Powerblading. Gonna be those blades nice choise? Gonna be durable? i like those blades also cause few aggresive blades has instep strap (support) thanks..!
I think they'd be perfect for you. 72 flat is really fun, and for the price you can't get a more supportive/responsive skate. I would recommend swapping out the footbeds if you're going to be jumping anything, they can be a little rough, but otherwise a good skate out of the box.
Ya man. I had to go down to 64mm gc wheels because of the catching on royales. I'm sure I could've got used to it eventually but i really wanted to grind. It's crazy how low you have to get to get a good luck on them in the 1st place
Are the frame dimensions different on the aeon 60's and 72's? I have found some Richie 72's at a great price but intend to ride 60mm. Wondering if I can just buy the richies and fit 60mm wheels.
@@BacktoBlading thanks for replying. Yes I've had a proper look and understand the difference between them both now. I'm ordering a pair of Richie 72's and a pair of Rachard 60's to have a play with each.
I want to have a skate that i could put a agressive frame on it and also a freestyle frame could you guys help me ? It's really hard to find information on web
Aeon 60 perfect skates for me, wish to try 72! Check my review on these (try to do english subtitles soon) add you to main page of my channel on the Blade Bloggers list. Keep blading!
Hey, I just bought a pair of this and realized that I can't find a single store in the USA that sells replacement wheels. Are you replacing them with roller hockey wheels? Why would USD release a skate and then not have wheels available in the USA?
There's a few 72mm wheels out there. I've skated and enjoyed the Go Project wheels, but also Undercover has them. shop.oakcityskate.com/Go-Project-72mm-Wheels-with-FREE-SHIPPING-72GO.htm
You can always mod them to be UFS, but you won't get the same unibody setup or buy the shells which obviously include the frames and souls, but are very hard to come across. Becci solleto (I think that's how you spell her surname) did a great video showing her converting her Aeons to UFS after she wore through the frame 👍
Hi :) I used to skate when I was 15...now I am 30. I want to skate again: both with my girlfriend on the street instead of riding a bike and in the park sometimes/jumping some stairs or sidewalks. Would you recommend the AEON 60 or the 72? Thanks in advance :)
Thanks a lot! 🙂 But with the 72 it is not that easy concerning grinding? I am not sure if I understood your video correctly? We have a pool here for skating. Would like to do some grinding, too. 🤔 Earlier I was grinding a little bit, but not that good as you in your videos. But I am not an absolute rookie 😂😉
Shock absorber issues on all low budget blades. Similar to valos ;) just stick to well known razors sl or something like that. As for the royale...turn your last leg, knee, more out, more behind. Put your boots closer to each other. Smaller stance but more turned opposite to riding direction. Thats it. You should be able to do it. Btw nice review
Yeah, I got it a few times but it was painful to learn. I can't see myself (or recommend that anyone tries) learning to royale a special way just to ride the skates. They're great skates, but I think the 60mm are going to be more realistic for most people. Thanks for the advice!
When you skate flat, sometimes the wheels in the middle will stick or “bite” in the ledge if you don’t get in the perfect position for grinds. It can be a real problem when you’re skating fast and not ready for it. The Aeons do a trick with their groove to have some material protecting the wheel from touching the ledge.
I grew up roller blading then aggressive in line skating in the late 90s. hitting it hard from age 11 to like 16 years old.. man it was a lot cooler back than I've been watching other vids. looks sooo lame now wow... it's no wonder why I started skateboarding and surfing and haven't stopped since

The channel between the wheels looks shallow. Aren’t the 72mm wheels sort of large for aggressive skates? 👍☮️🌞
Very large! They’re more for urban skating than aggressive. I prefer the Aeon 60 for grinds

That’s great news! I really enjoyed grinds on the 72’s, it was just royale and farv that sucked.
Hi, i come from urban skating with a 100 mm setup and want to start with aggressive skating. Would you recommend this skates to learn my first grinds?
Not really. I’d get something with an antirocker setup. Much easier for grinds. You can also try the Aeon 60, much more forgiving.
Yo tengo los aeon 80 y hacer Royal aún me cuesta...
Great new intro, nice descrptions!
Thanks! Getting the hang of these reviews.
I love the 72mms but I have the same issue with the royales. Might have to try to do what you did with the groove.
They're easier with the groove work, but you saw the struggle. I've got some 60's I'm gonna ride soon.
Are they heavy on feet when jumping onto rails?
Nope, lightest skates I own
Solid review Lawrence 👏👌
I may just be a regular ol blader but if you bend lower, spread your feet and go faster, the royales will work much better for you:)
Yeah, that’ll help a lot. Going back to them next month to see if my being better makes a difference.
How do I find replacement wheels for these things? Are they not aggressive wheels?
They’re borderline aggressive/fitness. You can find them on RollerWarehouse or Inline Warehouse. Go Project are what I’d recommend.

Aeon 60 then. All the reasons you stated are totally valid. You want the 60s.

what does heat molding do? Is it just make the boot fit better?
It’ll help the liners fit better. Kinda like breaking them in faster

Ha! I don't know anyone would want to watch me skate. If I'm not talking or struggling to learn tricks, I run out of things to do. =)
Couldn't you just put anti rockers in place of the middle wheels?
Yeah, I could, but flat is what these skates are designed for. Testing them antirocker wouldn't be a good review.
Also you would need bigger antirockers on these skates
This shoe can use small wheel or not ?
I’d stay around 58mm
Is it feel alright when using small wheels ?
What’s wheel bite protection?
When you skate flat, sometimes the wheels in the middle will stick or “bite” in the ledge if you don’t get in the perfect position for grinds.
