I’m actually a little glad that my Aeons are on the slower side. For someone who’s just getting back into it after a 22 year break (therefore almost starting from scratch) I find it helps me feel like I have a little more control.
Love the frequency of how often you are making these videos. Quickly becoming one of my top 3 youtube bladers! So helpful too to see someone who is actually sick at skating and experienced sharing their knowledge 🙌🏻

Awesome video and experiment. I got the USD Aeon basics recently and am just now getting into aggressive blading. Cool to see you're in SA also! I got to check out the Pearsall skatepark. I am right next to the Nani Falcone skatepark and I am still pretty new so I think getting started it would be a good place to learn still.

Looked super fast on that down ledge and then slow again on the p-rail. Props on going out and skating in this crappy weather. I'm a panzy when it comes to the cold haha! Luckily it looks like it will be getting back into the 60's again next week.

You should have maybe only added dimples on one skate and leave the other one original, and then just went back and forth on the same ledge at approximately the same speed and done simple soul tricks. Physics say that it should have an effect, at least on ledges, where more surface area comes into contact with the soul, but how big the difference is, is probably not super noticeable when the test is done days apart. Doing only one boot and effectively testing both ways during the same session would probably be a better indicator of how much of a difference dimples make. Ok, methodology rant over 😂

Too many switch ups for a "does the soul slide" video, butt keep up the good content on your page! Would have been more helpful if you had just balanced a makio or fishbrain to see how quickly the grind slows down. I wonder if more dimples with a smaller drill bit would have made more of a difference too

Think how a needle can slide through skin because of its small surface area Vs a finger with the same pressure applied.

I’m very Happy with the aeons. Lots of upside with a few drawbacks. They’re not for everyone, but I really like them.
One thing that I find a bit strange on the Aeons is the H block is always really quick even though it's the same material as the Soul.
Facts. It’s a little confusing.
Hblock will possibly be stiffer, more rigid, than the souls
It can get dangerously quick too if one waxes a rail due to the slow soul!
Same theory as dimples, less surface area.

Agreed. That rail can sometimes be weird though. Even on my cults sometimes it was painfully slow. Hard to tell.
That's unfortunate, in my experience, my dimples really help me slide faster when I fall on my face

Yeah exactly. I think the type of plastic used for the soul plate and it’s specific coefficient of friction has a lot to do with it as well.
