Great video as always, after skating razor skates for years last year I wanted a change and went for the Billy O'Neill aeons after a bit of getting used to skating flat setup this is the best decision I've ever made skates are great just why didn't they come out years ago haha.
In my opinion: If all you do is cruise, and want to dip your toes into some grinds... Get the 80s. Practice your Makios (learn to jump in fakie, etc.), whilst using the powerhouse 80mm wheels to continue building your leg strength. Then save up for that pair of 60s
I've had all three but I've settled on two models. The 80s which are so much fun and a great get-around-town and filming setup (BUT give you the option to do some grinds if you feel the urge(and we all do!)) and the 60s when I know I will be filmed and ledges are the order of the day. Honestly, my opinion, I didn't feel like the 72 was a good compromise for me. I mean it would be perfect to just have one setup for all but having two pairs in the car isn't so bad.
Three years later do you feel the same? Trying to avoid buying three skates for the various uses. I have 60s on the way and know I will like them for aggressive skating. But what if we want to go out and find things to do? Moving without getting stuck thus 80s sound like the way.
I’m thinking of getting my first pair of skates - Aeon 72s. Used to skate as a teenager and picking it up again aged 24. I want to do a lot of cruising round to get back into the feeling and eventually do some jumps and grinds street style. Do the Aeon 72s sound good for this?? I’m worried about small wheels if I’m cruising round on uneven pavements.
@@Uhhitsjayy I had the same question because I want to skate both on the street and on a skate park. Long story short even if you put smaller wheels the frame will continue to be really big, and will make groove tricks harder. I'm still looking for a set of rollerblades that will work for what I want
@@Uhhitsjayy You'd be better off just buying a normal UFS boot then you've got so many options! You can go from small wheels to big wheels to rockered frames to some big 3 wheel and big 4 wheel frames as long as it's UFS you're good to go. The Razor Shift/Cosmo maybe worth looking at if you really want something different. They've made something called the IFC system I think it was... Instant frame change or something, where the soul is attached to the frame. So then you have say two souls one with your aggressive small wheel setup and one with your big freeskate wheel setup and you can easily change with just two buttons. No screws nothing. Boltless. (There's a couple but I don't think you really need to put them in) 🤷♂️
Great video! I skate 60's but with 64mm wheels and an anti rocker set up and it feels great! Top tricks are smooth as butter! In my opinion 80mm are just too much for a skate to do grinds on the H Block. If you can do it fair play that's impressive but not for me 😅😁
Thank u Ricardo now i understand it^^. Which one did u recommend to start aggressive skating, only a short break over 10 yrs :D..... I don´t know which i wanna buy....
Do 64s fit okay? I want to get smaller wheels for my 72's, the 72's are faster than smaller wheels, but you have a wider turning circle, and so less control, or ability to change direction as quick as you would with smaller wheels.. I'd say dropping in, and skating parks is better suited to 64mm, I just wasn't sure whether they'd fit the frame well?
So once your frame or soul plates wear down the skates are pretty much done? I bet functional wise it's great but I'd rather be able to switch out my parts
Yap. Your right. But this shell costs arround 70/80 and a frame plus soul plates cost about that or sometimes even more.. it's a different concent with pros and cons offcourse
Hi Ricardo. Love your vids! If one is not concerned with doing grinds and wants to focus on transition, what's best wheel size for riding ramps, quarter pipes and bowels? Is it easier for a beginner to have smaller wheels for ramp, pipe and bowels?
I'm getting back into skating again and I'm stuck between the 60s or the roces m12 cam u give me some advice Ricardo!!! Already great thanks and keep up the good work
Ricardo! Great video :D A few weeks back, I posted a reaction under one of your videos with a question about the USD Aeons :) (I did not know how to contact you otherwise) Funny, yesterday at noon I received the 60mm. and in the evening I saw this video xD My purchase was the right one :D I'm 32 and getting back into aggressive inline skating :s HELP but boy I'm excited!!! My main goals are learning to drop in and I really want to learn the royale :) For cruising and some "Urban" (Zwolle, Netherlands xD) skating, I bought the Powerslide Kaze 110's. So, now I'm broke but you have full inline skating support from the Netherlands! Keep up the good work! and if you are in the neighborhood we can make contact if you want :) Greetings Casper
Vorig jaar ook de kaze110 gekocht en nu op zoek naar agressive skates. Voldeed de 60mm aan je verwachtingen en heb je in de tussentijd toevallig 72 of 80mm geprobeerd?
hey great vid like always I'm a beginner and I am debating between the USD sway team IV and the aeons what do u think I should get? and if the aeons so what 1's? thanks
Hey I think I want to get a pair of aeon 60s but I’m not sure about the size. I wear a US men’s 10.5 in sneakers and idk if I should get the 9-10 or 11-12?
Matthew Byrne , i had the same question when i bought the aeons 60. I am also size 10.5 us. I ended up buying the 11-12 us. The lines fits perfectly! The shell its big but not crazy big. The good thing about a bigger shell is that you end up with a bigger h-block space, which will be better for grinds. I recommend you to get the 11-12
hi hi, i dont have these anymore and its really hard to ship from south Africa, becomes really expensive, but if you buy at Hedonskate.com or Bladeville.com and use code LINO, they will give some extra sauce :) they ship worldwide with good prices.. :) hope this works
Ricardo hey how are you? Hope you're getting to the bottom of your recent terrible news. Really hope they find those guys. I have a question... Could I install the mid ratchet strap system to my aeon 72 team editions? I actually think I'd like that over the Velcro strap.
Just pick any random Skater online and shout out to USD: "Yo this person does not have an AEON skate yet, give em one of those AEON you are throwing at everyone!"
Nice Review!! I have in my wishlist the Powerslide Fitness-Inline-Skate Doop Swift Trinity 110. Would be cool if you can make a little review :) Cheers Maestro!!

hahahah didn't you make a video bitching about how they shouldn't make this skate because we have fought so hard for ufs skates and now you say you like them. i personally don't like ufs skates i feel i lose a lot torque because the ufs setup isn't solid so you lose energy in your push. ifeel i get better push with a fixed frame setup.

Aeon 80mm are my next skate! Would love to see Kizer come out with an 80mm frame with an H-block for my Xsjados in the meantime.
I just ordered them, can't wait
You should get the 80s Lino! I'd Love too see your reaction to the feel and skate on it.
Super curious as well! Heard great things about it being a 'best of both worlds' skate
How about an update with the new 2021 aeons?

Agreed
Acabo de comprar mis aeon 60 mm. Soy novato y me recomendaron esa medida tal cual lo describes. Muy buen resumen. Gracias.
Is there any way to make things easier before skating?
like preparation: how long it takes, what gears are a must have, what may/may not be necessary.
Can you put 60mm on the 80mm skate ? Is it possible to swap between them ?
Damn, 1 year and no reply. Want to buy the aeon 80's, but I'd like to know if swapping to smaller wheels is a viable option. I need answers! 😭

Hey Ricardo, what is your opinion on Valo Retro skates?
Thank you ricardo. I am planing to start grinding soon. And I am considering aeons 60 . I have a sebbas fr1 and they are fun.
Can u run bigger wheels on the 60mm
If you take out your two middle wheels I imagine you could get a couple more mm bigger wheels on the outside, but it's not worth it.
Considering 60’s or the 909’s? Which would you guys choose?
Buying 80’s and making a 60 anti-rocker setup 😎 then 72 flat them if all fails 😗
