I did similar thing to 14.4V system, put 3 in series Li-ions for 12.8V. But I kept most of original charger circuit, just added buck converter with current limiting feature. I wired constant current wire to charging LED and constant voltage to charged LED. My settings were 12.8V and limit 1A.
It's safer that way (voltage to battery is controlled by charger aswell) but with BMS it cuts charging out when cells are fully charged-charger just "thinks" that battery was taken out. This way charger can be used to charge old and new (lithium) batteries.
I have the same model drill battery's and charger same problem battery's are knackered drill still working fine must get them sorted to good a drill to leave unused great posting as per usual :-)

Master if old Ni-Cd charger circuit PCB have TL431 code component(Like BC series transistors) you can adjust output voltage for Li,-Ion batterys .I think you can adjust on old adapter with trimpot LED indicator too (LED on is charging ,LED off is charge done ) (Only you will change 2 resistance value.You an find details in youtube videos for TL431 output voltage adjust).So not need any new Li-Ion charger. If have not TL431 component in old Nİ-Cd adapter ,you can remove last section components (after bridge and big capacitor circuit ) and you can connect XL6009 DC-DC converter to removed area and you can adjust output voltage on chip module

What is the power (current) requirement of this drill? I haven't be able to find the specs. Your BMS can deliever 20A, which multiplied by 12V gives 240W. Isn't that a bit low? 2. Having a 2P configuration with 20A batteries, they should be able to deliver 40A output, so why did you limit it with 20A BMS instead of putting 40A version? I am not an expert but there are 6 batteries, each having 4.2V when charged. The batteries are wired in pairs. Each pair is in parallel, and the pairs are in series. This makes the total charged voltage 4.2V x 3 = 12.6V. For the old charger he destroyed the traces on the charging circuit so that it was no longer connected, then he soldered wires to the contacts for the battery pack. These wires lead to the barrel connector jack where he connects the new charger, which is an AC to DC power brick that outputs 12.6V to charge the new battery.
I also used 3s20 amps bms for the same drill, but the drill does not work when I press the trigger all of a sudden, the pressure works slowly, when I try the batteries with 3s40a bms, there is no problem, but there is a problem with 20a bms, where is the problem?

Hello. Thanks for the video, it's interesting. But in my opinion this particular BMS is a bad solution. The DW01 control chip will turn on the current blocking when it reaches 75A, because 0.150V/0.002R=75A. Are you sure that this screwdriver needs 75A*~10V=750W power? The DW01 control chip turns on blocking when discharging to 2.4V - this is a lethal voltage for 18650. The DW01 control chip believes that batteries can be charged up to 4.28V - this is also bad.

@@lenovtab3246 У меня сборка из трех hg2 и bms на 30 ампер для такого же шуруповерта, тянет саморез 5х100. Собирал изначально почти на такой плате bms и шур уходил в защиту почти на любом саморезе длиннее 30-35 мм. А вот с зарядкой стоит быть аккуратнее. То что твои аккумы терпят заряд от родной зарядки, значит лишь то, что они довольно устойчивы к высокому току заряда. В первую очередь это для них не очень на пользу, во вторых несколько опасно для тебя. Bms ограничивает лишь нижний и верхний предел напряжения на сборке, плюс балансирует банки. Но для сборки самое опасное, это черезмерно высокий зарядный ток. Так что лучше переделай зарядник. На Али есть dc-dc преобразовател недорогие с стабилизацией по напряжению и току, его можно встроить в родной зарядник.
@@КириллС-ш5л 2.6 Ампера выдает штатное зарядное устройство. Для аккумуляторов 2 Ачаса - не сильно больше номинала. При заряде аккумулятор вообще не нагревается ни на градус. И при редком использовании в быту мне кажется, что просто старость их прикончит быстрее, чем штатное ЗУ. Вообще это не моя идея использовать старый зарядник. Я просто купил новый аккум у фирмы, которая занимается их переделкой. Говорят, что специальное под литий ЗУ не нужно. Дают гарантию год. Посмотрим что произойдет. В любом случае спасибо за ответ!

NiCds should be thrown out anyway, but the Bosch chargers I know do flash green while charging, even with brand new batteries.

You should throw away the NiCd battery, it will leak and oxidize with time and ruin the entire battery pack. A piece of PVC pipe would work very well.

只是大小形狀不同,要修改~

Lo entiendo todo menos la modificación que haces de la PCB. No sé si puedes explicar.
El PCB tiene 4 conexiones B0 (0V), B1 (4.2V), B2 (8.4V) y B3 (12.6V). Soldé todas las conexiones al paquete de baterías.

Очень маломощная bms для сборки 3х2. С bms на 30 ампер будет мощнее, тем более что hg2 могут 30 ампер, тем более когда х2.
