I really love to see myself how you've massively grown as a filmmaker. These are legit movie quality "vlogs"! Keep up the great work!
Lots of cred to Joonas too, to say the least! 🙌🏼
I can't believe, you drove over 4k kms then do that...as your first line. Absolutely mental haha. Nikolai, that guidance and support you gave Loic going up, on the crux was divine. Can't wait for episode 2! Stay safe team.
Haha I am 196cm (6'5'') and would love to go on a rant together with Loic on tall skier problems and how most companies have basically abandoned us, making powder skis that dont come in longer than 189cm :D
Thanks for the great video as always. You are basically 80% of my ACL rehab motivation content. Probably gonna watch Eulogy tomorrow again on the stationary bike.
G3 and black crows make skis over 190 but idk any others
@@astasjaa black crows makes the anima in 194, yes. But where is the 196 nocta for example? Doesn't make sense to me that that doesn't exist, when it is a full rockered deep powder ski that u can easily ski in body height plus 10cm
Volkl Katana 108, 191 cm
Völkl Confession, 193 cm
Rossignol Black Ops Sender, 194 cm
Armada Tracer 118, 195 cm
Salomon QST Blank, 194 cm
Blizzard Rustler 11, 192 cm
Black Crows Anima, 194,4 cm
K2 Mindbender 116C, 193 cm
Elan Ripstick 116, 193 cm
Fisher Ranger 116, 193 cm
Rossignol Sender Squad, 194 cm
@@norway. look I am aware that I overexaggerated a little bit with the number 189. But the thing is that to a person my height, even 193 is borderline too short for a pow ski. I'm not asking for +10cm of my height, as most people consider the correct lengths for a powder ski. But looking at the Völkl example. It's great that the confession comes in 193. But where is the logic behind the revolt 121 (which is more specific to deep snow and also significantly more rockered) only going up to 191? Völkl used to be THE brand to go to as a tall person, the shiro even came in 203. What happened?
The 4frnt renegade used to be 196, now it's 191. The tracer u mentioned is discontinued, now the longest Armada ski is 192.
It's just a weird trend and I don't understand why it is happening. Surely there must be enough skiers taller than 185cm who would buy a 195+cm deep powder ski
People are recommending short baby skis, what you really need is a pair of 200cm reverse/reverse skis (Praxis and Heritage Lab both make one)
I love how you prep talk to each other and compliment the turns - Team work makes the dream work 🎉
The shot at 13:35 is just too good. Great clip, great lines, great shots!
I can picture all of your videos playing at the Banff film festival. Incredible.
Nikolai has the ability to stay so calm and focused as he gives clear direction to his partner in such a potentially perilous situation. This is true leadership!
Congrats on finally hitting 100K subscribers! You freaking deserve it!!!
This is amazing. The edits, the skiing, the zero emissions, your the best!!
For Sale: 1 pair of 194cm Blackcrow skies. I can't even begin to imagine what it was like to "squeeze" through that crux on a 45 degree slope. Really enjoyed that vid. Hope to see you on the mountain this season
I don't know why or even if you will see this but I loved your videos so much that I started learning Norwegian on Duolingo
Haha!
@@Nikolai_Schirmer OMG I never thought you’d reply but thanks I guess it is kinda funny too
I guess if I finish learning it then I wont have to use the subtitles in your videos
nice...im skiing in Chamonix at the start on January so its nice to see the snow conditions are good
Great video! Amazing skiing and decisionmaking, remember to stay safe!!
Let's go Niko i've been waiting for this one and then you bring a Dane!! Another lovely film - Can't wait for this series! And congratz with 100.000 subscribers you deserve it so much.
Another epic! It was so refreshing to see the downclimbing bits as I thought on the way up how the hell can they ski that? As always send some love to the photographer/videographer they go to some extraordinary lenghts (or should that be heights) to put my heart in my mouth.
congrats on 100k! I've said it again and I'll say it before, your content is some of the best on this site and I highly commend you for all the epic content!!
Thank you for making me love my vallée even more, beautiful video!
Love your videos. Been watching for a few years and makes me want to visit the north! We get some dark in Seattle too but losing the sun is wild haha. Best of luck and thanks again for making these great videos!
That was a sketchy climbing session, the rappel in ski also a bold moment!
Big fan of you Nik!
Chapeau to your Dutch partner! Nice turns indeed!
as always such a great video, the effort you put in is really noticeable
Absolutely love your videos!

Been waiting for this upload, and congrats on 100k aswell!
Congrats on 100K!!! You deserve 10 times that. Love the content man, it makes me want to be like you. Keep it up man ❤️❤️❤️❤️
First time I've seen the ascent look more fun than the ski down by Nikolai.
daym a lot more mountaineering than skiing, shows where the passion is, both :)
Dude! Such a great video!
Did my first skitour of the season last weekend!
Cheers!
Amazing as always😍
Phew. These videos just get more and more nerve wrecking! Stay safe and congrats om 100 k!
Spicy tacos for breakfast, love it. A+ as always - 15 minutes have never seemed so short.
Niko has such great vibes - thanks for posting these vids man, one day ill make it to the alps
you make the best video
Congrats on 100k easily my favorite creator
So good Nikolai
Insane riding guy’s what a line 🎿⛷️💯💯💯
Crazy line, you don't miss!
as always weeeeeeew.... congrats for the 100.000 subs :D
Such a extreme relaxing video
Go to tignes, i'll be there in february. It's my childhood and it's truly the best of all stations!
Congrats on 100k!
Cant wait for more!
This is amazing man.
Gnarly and good.
Unreal
10:54 top side boys!!!! all jokes aside, this is the real deal
I realy like your video’s Nikolai!🔥🔥
on point as always, compadre ;) 10/10
Takk kompis!
jag är också svensk. jag gillar att se att någon jag gillar att kolla på är svensk som jag är.😃 jag älskar dina videor!!
the "bergschrund" callout was hilarious
Been following for a very long time. I wonder why your subs are still not skyrocketing. This is too niche? RUclips doesn't promote this because of the dangers?
Anyway, stay safe and if possible keep on riding these dreamlines. I like that mountaineering twist on your videos!"
Can I ask what is the main source that is producing electricity along your travels?
Still the best ski content online
r. i. p. the skis
Insane!
congrats on 100k subs!
You guys are nuts 😳 cool video
10:15 "Blue pistes in Verbier just to get Started' - yeah, that's how I usually start my seasons as well. I don't transit to alpinism skiing the same day instead though :S
I love your videos. But can you make a video about how you plan your tours. How you use the avalanche report and handle the risk? And how does a colour change the risk pf avalanches in addition to a normal mountainside?
Rasmus is the man!
top-notch
Wicked!
Gratla med 100k 🤩
5:40: "Bergschrund": noun. The word of the early 2022-2023 season among all the cool skiing kids on RUclips. eg: "That bergschrund looks a bit steppy" - Cody Townsend about The Sphinx approach.
Loveee all of you so much but It hurts my soul the noises those skis made on the stones
100k!!
happy 100k🥹
@Nikolai Schirmer curious as to why you chose not to charge the crux? Obviously I wouldn't, but it definitely looks like it's something you would have done! What was the thought process? Too steep/firm on the exit? Too much exposure with the no fall zone cliffs below?
I absolutely love watching your videos!! Also, are you in Saint Anton, my family said they met some Norwegians there yesterday?!?
Thanks! I'm over in Switzerland now
Is the first shot of you coming down at 1:12 on a GoPro 11 or a GoPro MAX? So much field of view
Great video and line!!! I would be interested in your ski widths (>105mm) and why you didn‘t choose narrower skis for technical stuff like this. For years I only had one ski (BD Helio 105) and did everything with this ski. But talking to mountain guides etc. they usually recommend something in 85-95mm range for high alpine/steep/technical…would be interested in your thoughts.
I was planning to ski powder😅 Not really my cup of tea to go do icy jump turns, but it was a fun day still. Probably could’ve done it on skinnier skis, but then the exit glacier run wouldn’t have been as fun. Butters are key
@@Nikolai_Schirmer thanks for the reply!! Keep up the good work and enjoy your trip, love your inspiring videos
Hi, who did the rappel for you? i saw two nuts in the crack ? did you leave them there? Thanks
That was Pica and the crew that put in the real first track :)
@@Nikolai_Schirmer cool so maybe they are still there and can rappel as well. Lovely. cheers
Heisann Nikolai! Kult å se hvor langt du har nådd med kanalen!! Bruker du gopro for pov filmingen? Jeg ser du bruker dji drone… redigerer du dronevideone i såfall hvor? Jeg ønsker meg en egen video til gjennomgang av filmutstyret!! 🙌🙌
Not ski related but how is the Polestar in winter?
It’s good. The 4wd is amazing, and the battery is way better with the new heat pump. Just towed out a big diesel truck that was stuck in the snow yesterday hehe
Isn't the Gervasutti Couloir on Mont Blanc Du Tacul not the Tour Ronde?
There are two. Mr. Gervasutti got around
i just arrived in chamonix for 1 month, i dont ski or anything though and i dont speak french either lol so im a bit over whelmed... Any tips of where a beginner can learn in chamonix? i just want to rent some gear and try it out, dont really want the lessons they are insanely expensive
Love your content! you should collab with Magnus Midtbo
What is the beeping device that you touch to each other before riding? Some kind of device to find each other in case of a avalanche?
Yes :)
Hey, what's your weather app called? sounds like great stuff
opensnow.com🙌
This was really boring! Nah jokes aside, great as always Niko. You and the crew are killing it! 🎉 Wish you a great powy desember buddy!
One day.
I downloaded opensnow
🤟
I think you coulda sent the crux!!
1:10: "Choke, choke, very variable above the cliff, then another choke, then suuuuper sketchy": Says the guy who rides "mellow lines"...
4:40 is that google maps?
It’s fatmap.com :)
@@Nikolai_Schirmer thanks 🙏🏼🙏🏼
No way I live in Chamonix
not much here but shit tons more than there.xrist
Awesome Video! but where is the shutout for Loics Channel @hiddenfacesepisodes ? They are also producing sick Ski Content!
Thanks! It's at 04:14
The Hidden Faces guy in a Schirmer video. Best ski vid makers together! Nice!
Nico Schirmer and Cody Townsend back to back videos?! I'm blessed 🤩
Loic was killing it, as were you! Beautiful shots and conrats on 100k subs!
that was sick as, I'd love to see some content of you skiing off piste at resorts, it would be super cool to see what's out there.
always amazing to see the videos you upload and they inspire so many people to do what they love, thank you for showing your journey with skiing with us :)
The soundtrack, the opening score in particular, coupled with the mountain views are Ahhhh-inspiring! Nice. Work.
Congrats on 100K! You and Joonas are great team 👊💯
To every normal skier this just looks impossible. Great Work!
Niko is always so calm, supportive & caring to his friends
So good! Always get the stoke levels maxed when I watch you films. Get the first ski of the season in a day and this just fired me up!
