Hey!! Thanks for featuring my replay, Jingles! Give my best to Eddie next time you see him. So yeah, I got this ship for tokens during the event and this was only my second time playing it. I drive truck 12hrs/day so casual is the only way I really play. No time to get all sweaty over it. Been playing since I bought the Sims for early access and only started getting tier 10's last year. Anyway, it was actually your video from a couple days ago that featured the tier 8 in this line that got me interested in giving it a go. Not usually a CA player otherwise.
You are giving the Kongo too much credit Jingles. What he likely took away from getting torpedoed by the Argentina was that the opposing team must have had an unsighted OP dirtbag destroyer lurking around there somewhere.
Good game, good plays by the Argentina player, but man that Klas Horn was giving it his all. I couldn't help but root for him a little to live to the end.
My father (god bless his soul) did a world boyage aboard "La Argentina" in 1971 (or around that year). He was an engines-mate aboard that ship while it served as a trainig ship for new midshipmans and junior nco´s.
Slightly surprised Jingles didn't go into details about the ship being a cadet training vessel and just how its design greatly expanded on the basic Arethusa-design, arguably making it one of the best inter-war cruisers that Vickers built ton for ton. Unlike Arethusas that were little more than a cheap way to get a few extra 6-inch guns and torpedoes on the high seas, La Argentina was a solid general-purpose cruiser that performed well above its weight.
Please don't ever stop making these gems, Jingles. And don't die or get lock jaw either. I look forward to seeing these commentaries appear every single day and I'm depressed if I don't see them. Quicky Baby used to be in your calibre of entertainment value but he's napping on the job more lately. You're amazing. Thanks for so many years of laughs.
Almte. Cochraine, the tier 6 is better than La Argentina in my opinion. with Almte. Cochraine I have citadeled battleships from close range. La Argentina gets sunk before you get close enough to get those citadels.
Not a WoW or WoT player (I play the Other game) but I do very much enjoy watching your videos Jingles. I appreciate you giving some of the history of each featured ship as well, its part of why I come back to your videos all the time.
The "Muâvenet-i Millîye", the National Support, named after the private association that financed it, was a German-built torpedoboat out of a series of fout, the S165, launched in 1911. It would be pronounced moo-a-venet, with the e pronounced as in test. It has a certain notoriety through sinking the HMS Goliath, a pre-dreadnought battleship, in the Dardanelles. It was scrapped in 1953. [number of ships in the class redacted]
The Turks have had four ships so named, albeit the last three were in honor of the first one. The German-made vessel that served with distinction in the Great War was decommissioned in 1918 and reduced to an accommodation hulk by 1925, finally being scrapped in 1953. The second one, and the one modeled in game at present, is the British I-Class destroyer ordered just before the Second World War that would serve under British flag as HMS Inconstant until given to Turkey in 1946. It would serve under Turkish flag until ~1960. The third was an American DM (destroyer-minelayer) which served from 1971 until 1992 when it was accidentally wrecked in a training exercise. The last, and presently serving, is a large frigate of American build given to compensate for the wrecking of the previous vessel.
NIce change from the usual high tier games. in a lot of ways the games down the tiers are much more fun. conceal still being a thing without every second cruiser having radar etc.
I know that you are getting a little forgetful in your old age , but remember Jingles WG switched up light cruiser HE penetration at high tiers a few years ago. From tier 8 on the HE penetration calculation for all light cruisers that aren't german and have 150/152 mm guns is 1/5 the calibre.
got my 1st Kraken not long ago playing in Tier V Tiger. It's can be more fun & relaxing to play in the lower tiers, for sure. but I don't play random much, mainly Ops.
I recently had a game in this same ship I considered sending in Jingles. I'm now glad I didn't because this match was, I think, more entertaining to watch than mine was. I had 5 kills, somewhere around 150k dmg, 3 times the exp as my next highest teammate, and only lost 10% of my health the entire match. Thing is, those stats were less a result of me playing phenomenally well... and more to do with the fact it was a t5 match with a lot of new players :D :D :D This one guy in particular, who I citadeled I think 6 times, messaged me after game accusing me of cheating and reported me to WeeGee.... because he didn't understand that showing full broadside to a nose-in Argentina meant I citadeled him and his shells bounced every time. I almost feel bad. Almost...
I live in the US and play very infrequently, but I've noticed that there are very few games with bots in them at any tier. I only have one tier X, the Shimikaze, and my only tier IX are the Izumo and Der Grosse... the point being that I don't play a lot of high-tier matches, lol. Whenever I do hop on I start my grind towards the Schlieffen; at tier IV I don't think I've had but a single match against any bots and it was VERY early in the morning. Something is happening in the US servers, apparently.
The game we all want is at tier IV. No subs, the CVs are terrible so no one plays them. I'm not a DD player i play in battleships and i love the fact you can often get within your 5km secondary range, i know DD players love the jousting at these tiers too.
actually jingles, HE shells on low tier is less potent, because most BBs have little superstructure and armor everywhere since the "all or nothing" armor scheme wasnt adopted yet, leaving barely any weakspots for small guns to penetrate
Not using the right rod in abyssal waters, didn't deploy the trawl net, left the crab pot out and passed the island with Capt. Snaggy....oh wait, wrong game.....lol.
Jingles, it really depends on the time of day and day of the week as to whether there are bots in random battles on the NA server. Most of the random battles I have been in have not had bots, at anything higher than tier 3. Sometimes, later at night I might see randoms with bots, and then switch tiers, and the team rosters are completely full of live(ish) players.
NA has had a lower-tier bot problem for years now. It's only filled when you get a new ship line means full lower-tiers save for those who do not have enough FreeXP to push through the low-levels.
Yeah, the new pan-american cruisers. Despite having more than 20k battles and a shit ton of resources under my belly and also gained multiple higher tier cruisers of the new branch through early access, i always starting to play new lines from the beginning (in this case Tier 1) as soon as they are researchable. I'm now at the Tier 6 by the way. I have to say, that the Tier 5 La Argentina was the first of these ships which really made fun and i really enjoyed it. These cruisers are very effective against enemy cruisers, especially enemy light cruisers but also more lightly armoured heavy cruisers (like Furutaka for example). With your AP shells with advanced auto-bounce-angles you can citadel the hell out of any broadsiding or only slightly angled cruisers. The problem is that you don't have HE shells and only not the short AP fuses which british light cruisers have. That means that against destroyers and battleships you are not very effective. If you look at the video, the destroyers he killed, got only clapped after they tried to angle (or were beached and immobilised in an angled position). Then your AP does fuse, but against a broadside DD you only get overpenetrations and very little damage.
How was it retrofitted to suit the needs of the Argentine navy? Did it have extra life boats installed and a radio emitter so it could be located once it was safely on the ocean floor?
There's a simple reason almost no one plays lower tier ships: All of the missions require you to use a T5 or higher ship. You can't complete any mission at all in a T1-4 ship. Since there are so many misions you need to be an almost full time player to do them, no one has time to play lower teir ships unless you just don't care about the missions or mission rewards, and those mission rewards fund a significant portion of your bonuses, flags, etc..
Not long duration hydro, but they do seem to get ab extra charge of it Actually many of the T8+ CLs get more HE pen on their 6" guns, Ex: Dallas can pen 25mm stock, 31 with IFHE, but the Cleveland gets 30mm stock and 37 with IFHE Also sadly St. Vincent only has 25 mm of plating on her nose,
I felt super bad for him. The Klas Horn is such a bad ship that it's basically impossible to carry in any situation, much less when you're the last ship against five enemies.
So, on the American server, you see swarms of bots up to tier 4. Tier 5. magically the bots almost completely disappear, likely cuz of the less limited matchmaking spread.
Uhm ackshually Jingles when WG did the IFHE Rework several years ago they changed how much penetration high-tier 6" high explosive shells had. Starting at tier 8 all 152mm guns got 1/5 penetration so they pen 30mm. At tier 7 and below they only pen 25mm.
Okay I know someone knows this. I looked through the videos and couldn't find it. Does anyone know if the WWII trip Jingles took work Eddie is still up somewhere.
i played sooo few battles before i had a tier X ship. i usually play wot and the amount of play time i have in warships would have been enough to get to like tier 7 or maybe tier 6 tank...

I thought that the Córdoba must be a Spanish ship until I checked the Wiki and found out that it wasn’t. But, I found out that Spain will get its own line so I’ll have to return to the game
a good change that WOWS could have to get better matchmaking is Tier difference based average dispertion. if you get per example a tier 8 shooting at a tier 6, you get less chances to hit a part of the ship when aiming correctly vs shooting at same tier or higher tier than you. it dosent prevent higher tiers from shooting lower tiers but it would favorise shooting your tier or higher giving the possibility of even larger tiers difference in battles. Saying that cuz i can remember yesterday having a battle in a t6 battleship with t8 battleships having a detection range about equivalent of my maximum shooting range, wich make things... let say "spicy" if you dont want to wait half the battle to be done before shooting your first shell.
Almost makes me feel guilty for sailing the Mutsu most of the time, operations mostly, but everyone once in a while I take her out in RB. 16 inch guns at tier VI aught to be a crime. I laugh when BB and CA alike try to angle against them.
"not as much sweaty try hard involved" man, i wish lower tier world of tanks was like that. if i don't "sweaty try hard every single game, it feels like it turns into an automatic loss XD
Muavenet is at Tier 5 while her sister ship Icarus is Tier 6 for the very good reason that Icarus has twice as many torpedo tubes. As for this new Pan-American CL line, given how British-flavored it is with both the in-game gimmicks (no HE, improved AP ricochet angles) and the low to mid tier ship choices (all of the real ships in the tech tree are British-made, and two of the fake ships are also either British or British-derived), it's very disappointing that the Tier 8-10 ships are all bizzaro-Worcesters instead of the 1950s Vickers export designs offered to Venezuela and Argentina.
These top tiers were going to correspond to the designs 1124, 1124A, 1124-modified and others offered to Argentina and Venezuela by the United Kingdom. But to save time and effort and to diversify the nations present -for a region that doesn't make a lot of money- they kept up the gimmicks and made up these stories with the American cruiser ships. In other words, it is a branch of Latin American ships for non-Latin American consumers.
Nicely done, la Argentina. My best to those in your circle who are suffering from whatever the cause. Whenever I watch an old video of yours, I want to put in comments to warn you of the travails the next few (last few) years have brought. I recently watched one with "Boo" in it and that one pulled my heartstrings hard. Now after the political lunacy in the world, on your side of the pond and mine, + the pandemic, + the loss of QEII, + Crystalline leaving the world, and now Eddie's troubles, I don't want to know what's next. Time doesn't work that way. Past Jingles won't get those messages and all I can do is express my solidarity with today's Jingles. Give your dear ones, both the 2 and 4 legged varieties extra loves from across the sea. You never know when it's your last opportunity to do so. 🐈🐈⬛👑✌️🖖
I play on the North American server all the time and I do not see bots appearing in random battles at T5+ much at all. Go down to T4 and lower and they do become common, even to the point of ridiculousness: I had a recent random game in the T4 Langley with the only opposing player also being in a Langley- ALL the other ships were bots! You usually only see bots at T5+ very late at night. And I don't think it's completely fair to characterize the same mistakes at high tier as being from incompetence versus inexperience when comparing to low/mid tier games. My rough sense of it is that about half the bad players at high tiers are just as inexperienced as the low/mid tier players, often only having a few hundred total games under their belts. People rush up through the tiers before ever mastering the game and its ships, and I think it is even slightly more commonly seen for purchased premium ships where the inexperienced can buy their way into higher tiers without any need to learn on the grind up for tech tree ships. The other half of high tier bad players have lots of experience (i.e. thousands of games) and yet have sub 50% win rates.
When you look at the way the tech trees are built, a LOT of the lines completely change characteristics around mid tier and some change more than once. So it can be hard to get a grasp on some lines at any point

I miss the copyright-strike inducing 'Kraken unleashed' video ... 😐
T8-9 and 10 light cruisers with 6 in guns penetrates 30 mm with HE
Nicely done, la Argentina.

Tier 5 isn’t too bad when it comes to bots. You really have to drop down to tiers 2-4 to get games loaded with bots.
More low Tier fun please 😁
Anyone see the comment in the in-game chat? Come back DD, we just want to be friends.... 😂
Ehm... Actually Jingles... Tier Vs can meet tier VIIs, only tier IV can meet ships one tier higher :V
👍
Argentina is still crying about some British Exocet missiles.. just fyi
I preferred "Don't Cry for me Madge and Tina" :)
in t5 it realy dosent matter if some one decidest to bum rush the enemy team in ligth cruiser but t10 they should know better rigth
I never see bots in T5 battles....
