I learned that all self-taught developers can cook well. I think an interview has to happen in a kitchen. Another observation, any good developer has to use the dark mode.

watching at 2x, gonna have to try that. thanks for your video! "less boring" isn't bad if ppl are learning self-knowledge and gaining perspective, i'm learning that failures can be as good of a marker or heads-up to ppl struggling with, or about to struggle with, an issue. it helps, it does! to see other ppl who use the same gear, different gear, same programs, holy shit new programs i never heard of(!!!), same hours, different hours, etc etc. its all a learning curve. im 45, started my journey in oct/nov last year.Self taught, i've built my first computer, learned BASH, some Json, some python and Java as well as being a Pi-Father to a 2Gb and a 4Gb, its been a fun first few steps(and ridiculous learning events DOH doh DOOOOH!) lol half the fun right there hahahaha thanks again, keep it up!!

in my opinion, the first step is make sure you must able to type with ten fingers, besides that, ask to your self, what the main goal that you want to achieve? for example want to able to build desktop apps or mobile apps or web apps? if you want to focus on web apps for example, then there is another specific question such as web apps like what do you want build for? Shortly if you want to try totally, let you playing with python then try build your own profile website using FLASK framework. You will know why python :D

The title of this video makes it seem like you being a "self taught developer" are a different breed than some other kids who learned programming on the job and did CS in college. We are all coding monkeys, so self taught, or trained is no different

So depends on what you want to build , if you want a website ...go and learn some html CSS JavaScript PHP ...take it easy , stick to it until u know how to do 1 or 2 websites on your own , consistency is the key really . If u want to make some games , go and learn c# and work with unity or some c++ and start with unreal engine . You have so much opportunities, just pick one and stick with it ! Wish you all the luck !
