It funny you actually said "you watch tutorials in 2X Speed " while I'm watching your video at 2X speed. It's a great way to learn!
so you can learn 4 times faster
Again, its great if you can keep up. :)
agree! it is underrated method
It's the ONLY way to watch videos
I think watching it normal speed would be better at learning
Would love to see more of this! Really helps put things into perspective because I have days like this too where the coding doesn't always happen the way you want it to. Keep going man!
I learned that all self-taught developers can cook well. I think an interview has to happen in a kitchen. Another observation, any good developer has to use the dark mode.
And gym ... don't forget the gym
if you don't use dark mode, you're a psycho
the higher your position is the more meetings you have. my day is like 2hrs of review / code and 6hrs of meetings lol
I learned that most of self-taught developers are front end devs.
LOL
Wow. great motivation here. I code 24/7 self taught watch tutorials in 3x fast. Thanks man. I just wished I had a decent laptop to code with. My main setback now.
What’s Ur laptop?
Yes! Include your fitness if that's also a part of your day.
Why I watch a day in the life of ... videos?
To see them cooking that coffee.
Hahahah
Hey Justin! You speak my concern! I have always wanted to learn coding, knowing the impact it has to the society. May I know, how do you start from scratch? What is your very first step of the journey? Which site u visit and what motivates you to start coding?
ayyyy that was the podcast I was in :)
It was a great podcast got me pumped💯
watching at 2x, gonna have to try that. thanks for your video! "less boring" isn't bad if ppl are learning self-knowledge and gaining perspective, i'm learning that failures can be as good of a marker or heads-up to ppl struggling with, or about to struggle with, an issue. it helps, it does! to see other ppl who use the same gear, different gear, same programs, holy shit new programs i never heard of(!!!), same hours, different hours, etc etc. its all a learning curve. im 45, started my journey in oct/nov last year.Self taught, i've built my first computer, learned BASH, some Json, some python and Java as well as being a Pi-Father to a 2Gb and a 4Gb, its been a fun first few steps(and ridiculous learning events DOH doh DOOOOH!) lol half the fun right there hahahaha thanks again, keep it up!!
Doing your coding while not talking is good too... You can do a "Study With Me" video series that is easy views and people who just want to hang and do their own study can have you in their room for support.
2X SPEED IS AWESOME... THANK YOU FOR THE ADVICE
great video. You are actually doing something that people relate to. nice work
Thanks!
Would love to see more of this. Loved the coding part. Please keep it up
I really like this kind of videos, hear about practices and experiences about anthers people on the same area it's awesome. Pls, don't stop this incredible work!
Nice video dude, I need to re-update mine soon bc a lot has changed!
Filip it would be amazing
totally starting on this endeavor self taught... so encouraging
What is exactly the meaning of Self-Taught Software Developer? You dont haver a software engineer or smething like this, but you have learned everything through the internet or books?
Thanks for this video!
Just amazingly done... all this... love the IDEA of ... yum recipe as well... going to try once for sure... LOVE this totally
Has a “HUSTLE in silence let success be the noise” picture in room but also spam posts ‘arsty-coding-setups’ on Instagram.
“Guys look at me look at me! I’m working in silence! Did I say I’m studying and working hard LOOOOOK EVERYBODY!!!” Lmaoooo
Need a hug?
T Swift: Haters gonna hate hate hate hate. I'mma just shake shake shake shake :D
@@justinbchau need a job?

Hello. Its good to know your channel. Im just looking for videos about software tester and accidentally i saw yours. Well, im now navigating like im just starting to get know more about this field, about this job so definitely i need more motivation. But luckily your videos did that help. Hope to see more useful, motivating videos from you.
I'm am also a self-taught software developer but some people don't give me a proper respect or recognition because I didn't go to college.
I can’t choose between COMPUTER SCIENCE ,BBA and dentistry. My hardest choice in life so far anyone for helping ?
love this video! It increases my sense of productivity!
Wow I've never seen a microwave where the only way to set the cook time was only if the microwave door is open. 2:55.
Nice, i work as freelancer too, i was working in a company as programmer, but work for somebody is dificult, i hate deadline, the companies just try to make money, they don't bother anything, you maybe earn lest working at freelancer but you don't live with all stress
Haha you knew we were going to ask about your theme! Thanks 😊
I am happy Chau for you, and I love your video. I am struggling to be one like you, meaning I wanna be a developer. it is much appreciated if you have an advice for me, Thank you brother continue the good work.
Hey just realized you're using the scarlett for the sm7b, highly recommend using a goxlr, it eliminates the need of using the cloudlifter and eliminates the noise in the mic :)
Your microwave is really clever! I mean most of the buttons don't work while it's running anyway, so why not minimalize and make the outside neat :)
great tip on tutorials, I will try watching them on 2x :)
PLEASE BRO!!!!! DO WORKOUT VLOGS!!!!! We wanna get swole!!!!
Wow! Podcast, that's interesting... What do you do during your podcasts? And yeah, would like to see your gym sessions. Is it a mass-building training or cross-fit?
Great podcast with James Quick!
Hi, I would like to start my journey on the software engineer, I have a background in agriculture engineering from out of the United States. What are you recommendation? How should I start with the whole process im totally decided to start.
I HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU THANK YOU!!
in my opinion, the first step is make sure you must able to type with ten fingers, besides that, ask to your self, what the main goal that you want to achieve? for example want to able to build desktop apps or mobile apps or web apps? if you want to focus on web apps for example, then there is another specific question such as web apps like what do you want build for? Shortly if you want to try totally, let you playing with python then try build your own profile website using FLASK framework. You will know why python :D
Agriculture engineering background with programming comes in handy. The farming industry will become more Hi Tech.
I just decided to peek in the comments to find out if great brains really think alike... I wasn't surprised.
0:08 my dyslexic ass trying to create a mug design
Love coding a great deal. I am teaching myself as well.
Hi Kimberly
Which mediums are you using to teach yourself?
Wow this is really inspiring for my tech interest, waitin for more videos:)))
love the video man, you inspired me to start my own channel
Amazing video!
sublime theme on vscode makes the best of both worlds.
Could you please send me what your settings of vs code? The front and color are so cool!!

Include fitness but keep showing yourself working with the code!
Great effort as put into this video! Subscribed for that reason alone. Keep it up! 👍
Day in the life of software developer... basically going to gym and eating
I like coding and fitness just like you :)
How do you record your screen when you record the coding section of your vlog? I want to record myself doing tutorials for work to help my coworkers
I'm sure there's free software that lets you screen record on your computer like you would on a phone
Where do you get the superfood powder, Chau?
Hello bro

Join Zero to Mastery.
or just start learning, all the information you need is on the internet, just pick a language and roll with it for a few months until you get a feeling for it
@@asesmao3446 yep. Just start..
@@asesmao3446 may i start with web development??
Html and css is like the best start you can do, and after that, just go to whatever language looks more interesting to you
I want to ask a question as an example. How long do you run a slider app? I started a few months ago. I'm working slow :( Is this normal?
Nice video , whats your vs code theme?
2X speed!!! 🤯 THANK YOU!!!
Hey I'm a self taught developer too.
Can you let me know how would you learn or how can I say........hmm, what would you suggest one should learn first and what should be second, third, fourth.....things like that.
To be able to success as a developer?
I mean what kind of knowledge should one learn first, and so on in particular order, in order to grasp the concept of programming properly?
Hey Chau, how do you get the color ui for your terminal?
Can you make a video on what all instruments you use for your vlogging?
Hello im 12 years old and i taught myself how to program recently usings mall basics since its simple and our teacher is teaching it even when i already know what i need to know in small basics , i am planning to use visual studio next or another software while learning python and java , any helpful tips?
Hope you will release more videos.
chau we had a chat earlier on the desk space or work space development where i was inspired and made one of my own. But the point is in a strange way i was pushed out from your insta, why? idont know. Please look into that. I had send messages before that. In case any issues with my interactions, do let me know.
Yeah it would be great to learn your workout routine
How to change my vs code terminal to a beautiful terminal like his terminal?
what would be the first book for me to read to learn coding and to become a developer or software engineer?
RUclips, it moves along so quickly that books cant keep up.

New subscriber here. Looked through your IG and scrolled through your uploads, didn't see what car you drive? I saw the "ill" and "tein" stickers
Hi Justin 👋
Includes your workout videos also 💪💪
Good video man, maybe talk a bit less or have a voice over when b role is playing but apart from that the lighting in the b role is needed !!
Hiii, just wanna ask how did you start learning front end dev, like what learning path did you take and resources that helped you
Try freecodecamp it helped me a lot
Good stuff man
I need that screen in my life
I'm doing my bachelor's from general science. Can I get a good job in IT by learning to code
How long did it take you to learn coding and how did you know it was for you
how can i become a self taught developer.how you did it???by the way am learning python and i know basics of c and . i knw html css bootstrap
It would be a little better if you tidy up your backround tho haha
I know cause I also learn python by myself by 0 guidance
I've seen ut setup on Instagram, good job 🔥
quite a messy room.
What's that cursive font you got there?
Yo what’s that monitor called?
can anyone tell me wich victor mono font he's actually using? thnx
Bro,can you give me an advice: i want to learn Python language, which os is more useful for me,mac os or linux based os(i am beginner)?
If you’re just starting, your OS really doesn’t matter. Just choose which one you are most comfortable with. Later on in your career, you can always switch if necessary.
@@snow3570 thank you
@Roland Josh europe
Whats you vs code theme name is it custom , can you share your theme config json file
Which font are you using?
This channel should be called Chau takes tutorials and doesnt actually code.
That’s what I’m thinking lol 🤔
I’m kinda confused... has this guy actually had a SD job before?
@@crisi6754 I haven’t gone through all of his videos but I don’t believe so?
@@crisi6754 No he has never had an engineer job before. He worked as an it helpdesk tech after he left he sales job at a computer store.
@@GorillaDev417 a bit messed up saying he’s a software developer without ever having an actual job lol ...
what extension do you use in visual code
Where did you get that screen?
You're a developer and a fitness coach?
why almost all peps has standing desk right now?
it very important
good very much
what do you think, could you do it till your 65 ?
Good content but your camera moves so much it it makes me dizzy, anyway Congratulations for being a self-taught developer! Welcome to the inspiring world of software engineering.
Why the hell there are so many setup process??
The title of this video makes it seem like you being a "self taught developer" are a different breed than some other kids who learned programming on the job and did CS in college. We are all coding monkeys, so self taught, or trained is no different
Keeeeeeeeep working ❤️
Can you teach me how to code, I don’t know where to start 🥺
@Roland Josh twxas
I want to start learning how to code but i dont know how to start can someone teach me how can i start?
So depends on what you want to build , if you want a website ...go and learn some html CSS JavaScript PHP ...take it easy , stick to it until u know how to do 1 or 2 websites on your own , consistency is the key really . If u want to make some games , go and learn c# and work with unity or some c++ and start with unreal engine . You have so much opportunities, just pick one and stick with it ! Wish you all the luck !
8am.... "early" haha...
What's the recipe for your meal.
