  • Today's video continues my explorations in to AMP SIMs. I am revisiting the ACS1 from Walrus Audio - what do I think of the unit 12 months on?
All the main guitar sounds in the video were captured via my iPhone camera. I have also included some screenshots of the dB levels in the room.

Super-cool! The tech is amazingly good now... but like an 'real' amp it really needs to fit the player! Hope you find the right SIM solution for your tastes, my friend! I'll keep exploring and sharing what I find 🤘

I'm a big fan of the Iridium, too, but this thing feels way better, including when there are drive pedals in front of it. I was very impressed by that. But it's difficult to get much drive, even with humbuckers. I wish they'd up that factor, too. All in all, though, it's great at the end of a line of pedals. I'd recommend it. It's even better with York Audio IRs.

Thnx for watching Glade Wilson. Yeah, I agree, if it had more gain/drive capabilities I might be able to stick with the ACS1 - the feel is very, very good!

have you tried to stack it with a rat or some high gain pedal?

Hi Rolando, yeah I tried the ACS1 with a few drive pedals and it works pretty well. But, on my journey of discovery, I've discovered that part of my sound is defo to do with amp working harder and the power-amp breaking up. The ACS1 would really work for a player who wants to get all their tones from pedals. Thnx for watching.

@@KianSparkes nice to hear that, I’m thinking about getting one of those, that why I asked, since I get most of my tones out of my pedalboard, I might be alright with it then, would you say it’s a pedal plataform of some sort?

Yes, most definitely for a pedal platform. Hope it works for you... keep Rockin'! 🤘
