I love how y'all are exposing her calling her bf her roommate hahha
I believe this is grounds for a lawsuit
Yea... Asian people tend to avoid saying they have a partner until they KNOW for sure they want to marry them... also shacking up with your partner before marriage is a big no, no.
@@mattiekim thanks for that generalization, Matthew. You have totally demystified us exotic Asians.
@@amdperacha lol chill most Asians would say the same thing 😂
@@bigpopakap I am from an Asian country and my family is not like that. At all. Don't paint us all with broad strokes of the same, one size fits all assumptions.
She was only saying roommate because she knows I have an internet crush on her and shes trying to protect my feelings
The Graceful Savage room mate implies they are in the same room. 😂 living in the same house makes them housemates
The Graceful Savage
She needs to see this!
You know you're brown when you gotta call your boyfriend your roommate! LMAO
Why though? I don’t understand lol
@@elStarvingArtist live in boyfriend is a no go

Haha...So damn true.
And I actually thought its her roommate 😂
Someone gifted me this mango achar... THAT is the most Indian thing ever OH MY GOD
*some AUNTIE gifted me this mango pickle...
Anthony Teekah my auntie also gifted me pickles. 😃
I liked the way she speaks English being an lndian l think I had never ever seen that type of English speaker in India 😗but why she is in so hurry ? I think she was scared of her mother because she was saying my roommate😂😂😂😂😂
Such a NYC mood - she's youtube famous and works for these prestigious publications but even Brooklyn is too expensive for her to have a fancier apartment lol
That's a pretty nice apartment. And I'm sure it's in a good neighborhood in Brooklyn.
She's not youtube famous by any stretch (even in the BA "universe" she's not a mainstay) and journalists are notoriously underpaid. Given all that she's seems to be doing well for her self.
One of the camera guys was a tasty producer who moved to NYT and he lives with a roommate. You can't afford and appartement by yourself. Sad but true.
RUclips famous? She appeared on like 3 videos for someone else’s channel.
@@uzzieb9984 you don't watch BA then.

MISFIT my thoughts exactly
Lol! Such an underrated comment!!
I would have lost it if brad just came through the door like the cool aid man and was just like did someone just say pickling lol
Wourder.
It's not really one of her videos unless she calls a family member while filming the video.
Love how you guys kept putting BOYFRIEND on the screen every time she said roommate
Wow. I love that she didn’t make a single attempt to clean out her kitchen or unhoard for the video 😂😂😂That's very rare to find and I admire the honesty. And love she is proud of where her parents are from. Thank you Priya!
But pls, Marie kondo your kitchen
Or maybe.. this is how it is after extensive cleaning
@@VGJunky I was thinking the EXACT same thing. Thanks so much 4 pointing that out.
She's so unpretentious, it's incredibly refreshing. Love Priya!!
It's amusing how Claire in the Covetuer video made confetti cake & had cookies ready for the crew to take home, while Priya made toast, microwaved idli, & showcased her Tupperware collection. My two moods. 😁 Would love to hear about your food memories from Manila, Priya!
please i NEED to see gaby's kitchen. could you imagine the chaos that must be her cabinets?
Bianca Penuelas she’s the kitchen manager at BA, so I feel like her kitchen would only be chaos if she’s tired of cleaning and organizing after doing it all day, otherwise I feel like her kitchen would actually be really functional.
@@peacechickification You know that Brad used to be kitchen manager, right? Can you imagine his kitchen being organized?
palohi13 yeah, but he isn’t kitchen manager anymore right? Probably for a reason?
@@peacechickification Yup. He got promoted, and hired Gabi as his replacement.
as a matter of fact Brad had hired Gaby before as "assistant". However, I reckon she is doing somehow a better job than he did. She even introduced composting into the kitchen and that taking into account that they pretty high up in the building and apparently was a bit hard. Nevertheless Brad with is Alive (going places) is just great at what he does
I loved how she called out some people for thinking they’re above using a microwave. Like damn, sometimes I don’t have the time to heat something up on my stove/oven so imma use my microwave, don’t make me feel bad for it.
This level of organized mess and maternal admiration. I feel this ❤️.
this is the best cimment thank you
The spices in the pill bottles kill me
This is Vogue 73 Questions meets Bon Appetite. *I love it*
And I love you! :)
Shah Bhuiyan I do not know why I wrote that obnoxious comment. Please pardon me for being horny and inconsiderate.
As an Asian in Asia in tropical climate, I fridge my peanut butter too.
All natural peanut butter (ones with only peanut and maybe salt) need to be refrigerated as they don't have preservatives and emulsifiers.
Saw this while eating peanut butter XD
Also ants. Leave that peanut butter out the fridge for 2 seconds, the ants will immediately raid your kitchen.
Priya, please get Brad to make Idlis/Dosas on It's Alive!
Are they fermented?
@@benisturning30 yes! Idli, dosa, paniyaram, medhu vada, uttapam, etc are quintessential, delicious and healthy indian breakfasts (not medhu vada tho, as it's fried).
These can be made from the same batter mixture of hulled black grams, rice and fenugreek with varying degrees of fermentation for each item.
@@satoshiketchump Brad makes fermented foods.
@@benisturning30 Yes! the batter needs to be fermented at least overnight. The natural yeast in the lentils and rice do the work. That's how they get fluffy
@@GauravSharma2106 somebody needs to tag Brad ... or ba or somebody that can make it happen. DOSAS! All the way.
I love how she refers to her boyfriend and as “the roommate”
angel parra , probably her family prefers to hear lol
@Seeker Of Word wtf
You have changed my life by showing me that idlis can be made in the microwave in 50 seconds
😂I love how, when she moved, her mom basically packed her a mini spice cabinet. My mom did too! That's such an Indian mom thing
Priya from BA and Vaughn and Scott from Tasty...omg I'm freaking out!
My inner child appreciates her kitchen's 90's suburban vibe...😁
Lol it's interesting hearing that perspective from someone outside NY. This is what a lot of nyc apartments are like in the cheaper buildings/neighborhoods (with basic appliances) and people hate it
Seth knows how to use spices, is organised, plays chopan, can cook, AND is beautiful?! Oh my god Priya, marry him or I will 😭😭😭
Who is her bf? Does he have RUclips channel?
Love the corrected "roommate" part 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is the best. Love that this is her REAL kitchen, meaning she legit had a moldy sandwich in there... we know that she didn't stage her kitchen to be "perfect" before filming. The best!
Bruh not only is Seth a good baker and organized, but he’s also a trained musician - Chopin’s etudes are no joke!! What a catch lmao
Her organized chaos made me feel pretty much at home with all the tupperware and ziploc bag storage
and then I find out she lived in the Philippines for a time and everything just clicked lmao
IKR! I love her even more!

I cannot thank Priya enough for letting me know that I can store my loose spices in old pill bottles. It BLEW MY MIND, and now I can't wait to do something about all the weird little bags of spices in my spice cabinet.

I thought that cloud was an idli and was trying to figure out where this was going.
I loved this video! The fast and bumpy panning was a bit much, I had to shut my eyes a couple times.
Now that Condé Nast made the HUGE mistake of letting her go, BRING HER BACK NYT!!!!
I didn't even finish the video before I ordered her book. Speaking as a mom, I loved this! My 24-year old son just moved into a studio apartment this past week and this really hits home. Thanks!

When you already know every nook and cranny of Priya's kitchen because you follow Seth Bakes obsessively. 😍 also, is it just me or does the camera man look like he could be Seth's brother??
Masha where do you watch Seth bakes? I couldn’t find it on RUclips

I didn't even come over here to sub, but if yall are gonna keep bringing BA people to the frontline, then I just won't have a choice but to sub.
Amen
This is probably their strategy 🤔
reusing containers + tupperware collection + living in the Philippines = makes total sense to me 😂
indians do it too haha!
Losing a Tupperware is the greatest sin a filipino child can do hahahahaha
Late to the comments. But I get so mad when my husband just throws away perfectly good glass jars and plastic containers.
Priya!! She just always puts a smile on my face 💜💜 her organised mess is such a mood! 😄
I am so excited to buy that cookbook and start cooking when this lockdown is over! 💜 this is so genuine. Priya is so bright and chill
I love the fancy glass tupperwares too!
Much love from PH🥳🤗
"if someone comes over last minute, it's like, whatever i have....on toast"
honestly, same.
Repurposing medicine bottles as spice jars blew my mind. So simple and genius.
Worlds combining RN. Kinda mindblown not gonna lie
Same
I am officially in love with Priya. What a fun look into her kitchen.
i wish there was a series that just did kitchen tours of culinary professionals! It always amazes me to see their kitchens are just like ares, sometimes smaller! shes so relatable.
First, I love you Priya. You can never look in my fridge if you believe your fridge was messy. I also did everything like my mom did when I first starting adulting. The moment I realized that I hated cold peanut butter and had an epiphany that I didn't HAVE to keep it in the fridge was freeing. That was the exact moment I knew I was a grown-up. Now I want Idlis! That medicine bottle thing is gold. I will be using THAT for usre.
“My family used to live in the Philippines.” I LOVE HER MORE NOW
As Priya’s fan from the Philippines I got really intrigued when she mentioned that her family lived here before
Loved this video and love Priya even more now. We got to know more about her in the apartment kitchen than in all the bon appetit videos.
Next video should feature Seth. He must be fun at parties!
I know you from Bon Appetit and you know how to cook Indian food so well and I enjoy watching the videos from that show.
Honestly I like her more bc she was real about how her fridge was. Everybody has a moldy ham sandwich in the very back that they forget about every now and again ain’t no shame
I love how friendly the crew is with Priya
Omg can we see more of the BA chef's kitchens???? I loved this!
I just bought a microwave Idli maker! OMG. So excited! I loved your kitchen tour.
I have no idea why this came in my feed... but glad it did!!! You know a person is genuine when they open their kitchen to the world and you instantly relate to the(ir) chaos & clutter. I was grinning all through the video. :-P
My ears peaked when she mentioned she lived in the Philippines. Like what was the story behind that I suddenly got real curious
Priya: *mentions Tupperware*
Me: *thinking* Are Tupperwares that common in the US? Or India?
Priya: ... my family used to live in the Philippines..
Now that makes perfect sense
Tupperware is an US based company! (Which I just found out recently. For 27 years I thought it was German. We do call all generic plastic containers here "Tupperware" in daily language as well as we have the verb "eintuppern" for "putting something in a plastic container".)
I can't imagine how much that apartment costs a month. For Brooklyn, that place is actually huge.
I love how Priya loves her family!
I recommend her to get the most common thing which could be found in every single kitchen in India..... A spice box. I mean, how could she not have it.. being Indian is her brand.
YES!! the stainless steel malasa dabba with 6 or 7 the mini stainless steel bowls

priya is so endearing you can tell she's a great friend to have
Priya is young, she's still at that stage of life where you don't question what your parents do or say
Loved this! Shes so cute and so authentic
Where you could tell she’s a (very good) cook and not a baker: (10:20) “We just have far too many measuring utensils...”
Me (a baker): *inhales audibly in disapproval, breath catching noisily in my throat, trying to prevent the actual word “tsk” from escaping*
Weighing in grams using a scale would render a lot of measuring utensils obsolete. You'd just need a digital scale and your regular table and tea spoons, maybe a measuring cup for liquids that don't weigh a gram per millilitre.
Degh8e62 However, here in the states where Seth Bakes bakes, most baking recipes aren’t written that way. We still use measuring cups and seem to be pretty resistant about changing to metric in most every area. 🤷🏻♀️
she's not a good cook, either
Literally got on amazon and ordered the mixes and microwave thing to make idlis! Can't wait!
I could totally relate to the organized chaos called the kitchen. Looks like a mess, but it only takes seconds to find the right tool or the right ingredient.
Also: the Tupperware culture in the Philippines. My mom hoarded those too, there's always a Tupperware party in the neighborhood, and to date, I still have that huge (when I was a kid, welp, small hands) tumbler with a cariolier to match a lunchbox set from the same line - not as portable as a Coleman water jug, but I thought it was better than sucking the retractable spout. XD
Same! My mom had all the Tupperware stuff but she never used them. Kept all of them in the cabinet. If you looked at our fridge, the "ice-cream" container didn't really have ice-cream (usually marinated chicken) and we stored our water in mandarin orange containers (the ones in syrup)!
I heart Priya so much. Second favorite BA Test Kitchen staff.
This was amazing. I love priya
You got a subscriber because of Priya. Show more of her 👍🏽
I mean it’s not a mess if you systematically know where to find everything 😂
thank you for this, being a non professional preparer of foods I found this video inspiring that I don't have to have the perfect kitchen to be successful in the kitchen. that was a very long sentence \
Priya! It would be so lovely to see you do an Indian-Filipinx food mashup!
ugh I love this series idea AND you got priya Krishna on it??? i’m undeserving of this high quality content
I don't get the hype behind Priya Krishna. As an Indian American who cooks Indian food 4 times a week, a lot of her cooking videos I have seen on youtube have horrible recipes with some glaring technical mistakes. Her Pav Bhaji video is a blasphemy.
@@BruceWayne-eh4im yeah she is terrible but tries to seem exotic to white people

😊Cute video, few traditional Indian masala dubbas (boxes) may be good to organize all the spices, that’s how Indian kitchens keep track /organize many spices, they can also be stacked on top of each other to save lots of space on counters or cabinets...with spices in masala boxes tadka will be even faster 🙂
