I heard Sam Michell talking about all the travel Hawthorn have had lately with a trip to Geelong and then Launceston. Give me a break the VFL still rule.

I think that Schofield should get a two year deal to keep the young guys in the mix and build a team unity

Simmo has been playing the kids. I think he saw the benefit in a a mix. Remember Ginby Chesser Long Ledwards Harley Maric Hough have been getting constant games. Hutchy got picked second game in. JWilliams was getting games, but went back to WAFL to get confidence. Hedwards could have played more but McGov and Barrass have been fit all year. Rawlinson Barntt and Johnston got games early on before deserved. Then Dewar got a couple...

Should we call Fremantle Dockers the Fremantle Silver Spoons?
Wanting to never play in Tassie, so what happens in 2028 when the Devils come in??

Simmo was starting to throw the magnets around. But not so much within games. I thought it was good to see Schofield making strategic moves during games. But I fear that Schofield lacks the verbal and presentation skills that some other coaches have. So if Eagles lost ten games in a row and was besieged with press and criticism, I think he'd react or attract more criticism. Not his fault. Suma would have been the same and I fear Cox just doesn't have the same skills. Lets face it, Malthouse Worsfold and Simmo were really good communicators.

lol at WA commentators who are always complaining about the draw. The best advantage in AFL or any sport is the home ground advantage, This has been known for decades and its reflected in all the statistics. Interstate teams like freo and WC get at least 12 true home games per year. Melbourne teams rarely get a real home ground advantage because all the Melbourne teams play at the same 2 grounds. So when Melbourne, RIchmond, Collingwood, Carlton, Hawthorn play each other at their "home ground" none of them have a real home ground advantage, Same with all the teams that play Marvel. Even when Marvel teams are playing MCG teams they still dont have a home ground advantage because all the Marvel teams prefer to play at the MCG.
The only time Melbourne teams get a real home ground advantage is when interstate teams come over. Then some Melbourne teams still give up their home ground advantage to play in Tassy, Darwin, Alice Springs and other random places. That should make it easier for interstate teams.
Point is, interstate teams (and Geelong) get at least 12 true home games per year, when Melbourne teams are lucky to get 5 true home games per year. Interstate teams (and Geelong) have a much better draw advantage than any Melbourne team.
12 games is usually enough to get in the 8, Interstate teams only have to win home games to make the 8 most years, This is why interstate teams often make the finals, but crash out in straight sets.
TLDR: Interstate teams have a much better draw advantage than Melbourne teams.
