You can get 25 sheets of B&W Arista EDU 4x5 film from Freestyle in ISO 400 for $45, or just under $2 per sheet. That's a much better deal than $1 per exposure for this crap. And the Arista film actually works!
this film looks underexposed. Probably wrong iso on the packaging or its expired (i should have watched the whole video before writing this comment stupid)
Assuming it’s Kodak Vision3, there’s four possibilities as to what it could be, either 50D, 250D, 200T or 500T. Assuming he’s exposing at 400 ISO, it’s probably the latter. As he bought up, it could also be well expired film. Possibly Vision2 or even Fuji (they discontinued movie film in 2013).

Thats why IMAX film exists. It's just sharper than anything digital You just have to know what you are doing. @@maxadams69 makes me wonder if I could do better with my mirrorless scanning technique. A color cast in the underexposed areas is more an artifact of the scanner than of the negative. My first Superia film roll also had a color cast, and it was a new roll. Once I scanned it myself, the color cast vanished entirely. It was an aberration introduced by the scanner. Though I know, not worth it for four measly murky shots.

Good video but I wish you wouldn't advertise this as "AliExpress's 35mm Film" as if the company AliExpress made the film. Its film purchased from Aliexpress, its not made by them. Simply naming the video "Trying 35mm film from AliExpress" would be so much more genuine. Thats my only real issue I have with the video, video itself is great.

I did the scanning myself though. Exposing this garbage film at 2 or 3 stops over might get you something, but it's still definitely not worth it.
Most of these shots look like the photo's from a very old 110 film roll I once used from the 90s. It was stored in a garage with poor isolation so it went through 30'ish years of drastic temperature changes. The results were interesting but fairly unusable. But holy shirt. This film is BAD.

38 years ago when i got my first camera at the age of 5, films came with 24 or 36 shots. Promising 8 is a LOW already, delivering 4 is just showing you the middle finger from all those chinese scammers. If You were dumb enough to buy it from aliexpress, probably you wont notice it. The advance was loose because you didn't advance it enough. Not because you were at the end of the roll.
I was most certainly at the end of the roll, you can see the full length of the roll at the end. The last photo was all the way at the end

oh man, you needed to shoot this at 250. This is 250T. I'm fairly sure this is 250T. Or maybe it's the newer 250D? Either way it's being overrated!
at 8 exposures you could easily respool this into an 828 spool given the backing paper.
You get 8 exposures on those new Chinese half-frame plastic cameras. But thank you for buying Chinese film so that we don't have to.
