Noo! C'mon. You can't demo an AE-1 with sneezy/squaky shutter. Get it lubed and do it again! 🙈
Can someone help me understand what the little rid bits are hanging from the sides? I’ve seen them on several content creators videos, but no one ever says what they are.
@@EisOfSpades7 I can! Those are peak design anchors for quick release camera straps
@ I assumed that’s what those were, but wasn’t sure. Thank you! Off to Google to look at that. Sounds like a neat product!
@ they are on all my cameras. Super convenient.

Hannah and Mr. Adam’s are always top tier models.
@@shawnlennon1947 I couldn’t do it w out them 😂
Pretty good video! Loved the 1$ camera lol. Overall great advice. Too bad for me I'm a Minolta fanboy. From the fully mechanical SRTs, the XD7 (European model of the XD11), the XE-1 (XE-7 in the US), and even the X500-700, I love their aesthetics, the lenses,, the varying features they offer, etc. But none of their cameras can go higher than 1/1000s apart from the dreaded XM/XK, which will set you back quite a sum, at which point it stops making sense because if higher shutter speeds are your top priority, looking out for a good deal on a Nikon FM2/FE2 makes more sense.
Thank you! I’ve not gotten a chance to shoot minolta but I’ve heard they’re great cameras! I think high shutter speeds are nice but definitely not a necessity. I look forward to trying a minolta camera!
@@maxadams69 They are ! The Rokkor prime lenses are top quality in my opinion. For whatever reason, here in Europe they still fly under the radar so you can snap like a relatively clean SRT 101 with a good 58mm f1..4 lens for less than 100€. But yeah higher shutter speed you can make do without (lower ISO, filters)
Maquinon...y además sirve para hacer pesas....😅😅😅😅😅😅
Did you leave the paper seal on there just to torture me?
Yes
@@maxadams69I love niche film photography channels man
@maxadams69 you monster
Such a well produced video, Max. You kept me quite entertained the whole time, and I kept thinking, "I'll have seen this guy back when he had 5K subs," once you're past millions.
Wow this is one of the nicest comments I’ve ever recieved. Thank you so much!
@maxadams69 I just know what it's like, when you put out a whole lot of effort and wonder sometimes why you are doing so much. It's because everyone starts somewhere, and you are definitely possessed of the kinds of talents and presence that I believe more and more people will gravitate towards
A small point, but I think the much of the bias against electronic cameras has to do with the difficulty repairing them. A good Leica repairman can fix just about anything that goes wrong on an M3 or any other mechanical Leica. When the electronics in even very expensive cameras go bad (Mamiya 7, I'm looking at you) they're in most cases just expensive bricks. If cared for and maintained correctly, a Leica is a lifetime investment. My Leica Ia, built in 1930, is still working perfectly, and I expect it to keep working for years. If it breaks, I know I can get it repaired.
Great point!
DUDE!!! YOU GOT A DAMN SPONSOR!! SUPER STOKED FOR MY FELLOW FLORIDIAN!
THANK YOU!!
The brand also factors in on ILCs when considering what lenses it will work with. The M3 doesn't just have top-flight build quality in the body, but it works with some of the finest crafted lenses going. The same could be said for picking the Nikon F2 over my beloved F-1 or F-1n; classic Nikkor lenses do edge out Canon equivalents through the '70s. Will those lenses make any difference to your underlying point about the spendier gear not making someone a better photographer? of course not. A great photographer could make a great image with a Holga; a rich showoff will make boring, shaky images with a Leica.
Could not have said it better myself
Canon ae1's are going for up to $300 on ebay. I have several AE1 programs. Nikon N90s is a good camera. I have those and the N90. Along with the n65 and n2002. I used to help promote a monthly camera by me. So I got cameras for free or the $5 table. I see the Nikon FM2 up to $800 on ebay. Leicas are overrated, expensive and I hate rangefinders. Love the photos f your dad. They actually came out in focus as he drove by on the bike. He needs his own show.
I was shocked the pictures of him came out 🤣 he does need his own show
Honestly except for the $5 camera… with good glass the rest of the cameras will take the same pictures… at that point it’s all about the ergonomics
If you send me the Leica I’ll say thank you
Right away!

I bought Zenit 11 for 25$, such a nice film camera

The Nikon FM2 is the only one to consider. The rest is either junk or way to expensive. I own the Nikon F2A and FE2. Right after I got my F2, the F3 was released, another great camera from Nikon. Though, for a beginner, either the FM or FE variants are probably the best choice. They are excellent cameras with incredible build quality. To this day, my 1979 F2 and 1980 FE2 still work well.
It’s certainly my recommendation for bang for your buck
This was a really well made video. Informative, entertaining and with good production quality. Hope you get more views on this.
Thank you! That means a lot.
Damn I needed to see this. I got this film on a "welcome deal" for $2 just for fun and to test out a new lens and it came out exactly like yours. I got so discouraged I thought I fucked up shooting or developing it really bummed me out I felt like just giving up on film.
I’m glad it wasn’t your fault, but never get discouraged! Film will burn you again in the future but it’s always worth it in the end.
You can find a Leica M3 for 1k, no lens.
Yes this is true
Do you actually like nascar or are you a poser
@@guinea4594 I have never watched nascar

DUDE YOU GOT A SPONSOR!!!!! Congrats!!! Your dad really sold me on that chair 😅
I did! I couldn't believe it! and yeah he was a key part of the pitch🤣
I challenge you to find a usable m3 for 1 grand.
I was really lucky. Got mine for $700 with a 50mm Elmar collapsible. The shutter has some holes in it but liquid electrical tape fixed that right up 🤣
@@maxadams69 definitely super lucky. I can't seem to see any, body only for less than 1300 in ok condition.
I went with a Nikon F4… and … Many others 😂. But the F4 has a special place in my heart
@@haezeematera7671 beast of a camera!
Yo congrats on the sponsor my dude! Very nice breakdown!
Hannah’s a trooper for this one 💪 Another banger video
Your picture of Hannah was very mooooooving!
And your point is? For your needs just use your phone, you’ll never notice the difference mate.
@@jaunman71 the point is at the end of the video. Also my phone does not shoot film
I'm pretty happy with my Pentax K1000. Also, one should check how many good lenses are available for the system you choose.
Good advice for sure
Congrats on the sponsorship!!
Thank you!!
I've used Canons, Nikons, disposables, and most recently Mamiyas. My go-to is my Nikon FA. It's a great, sturdy camera. I'm trying to upgrade to an F3 and repair my F4 because, like the N90, it's fully electronic. I'm not a fan of "Brand" recognition it's almost always just marketing. It be cool to try a Leica but I'm not gonna drop 1G just to find out.
Getting a cheap camera: Easy Getting a cheap film: Impossible
Truth
Awesome video! Made me happy with my choice with getting the Pantax k100 over the AE-1. Very similar but only needs a battery for the light meter like the nikon.
Good choice!
Soy un suscriptor de Nicaragua, me encanta los videos que haces! Son unicos y divertidos. Saludos!
I really like your videos. Besides being informative, they are also entertaining. Greetings from Mexico.
Thank you very much!
Sweet video man thanks
I <3 film cameras and I <3 this video
Same 🫡 thank you!
Thanks for turning me on to the N90S! It seems like a similar camera to my beloved F4, but at a much nicer price point. Definitely going on the list of cameras I recommend to folks. Really insightful breakdown of used camera pricing as well.
It’s a weapon of a camera. It’s actually my go to camera if I’m using a film camera for work because of its fast shutter speed and auto wind. And thanks for watching I’m glad you enjoyed.
Of all my cameras, Pentax, Canon, Nikkomat etc, the one I like using the most is the Argus C3. You want a max shutter speed of 2000? Best I can do is 1/300. Flash? Dont make me laugh. Ergonomics? It is a shape, yes. It's just so unapologetic about it's capabilities. Like it's saying "stop being so pretentious. Just take the damn picture" and I love that.
1/300th is crazy! One of the greatest experiences with film photography is working around the limitations of your equipment, so I can see why it would be your favorite.
in europe style is a big factor in cost too silver cameras typically go for more than black ones of the same model.
Interesting!
Why? Black ones look better
@@iforgor15 I was gonna say, I'm much more used to the black on black cameras being much more desirable than the silver ones.
So technically, I think that's an FM2n. The regular FM2 only has a flash sync speed of 1/125.
You are correct I should have specified
The N90 and it's compatriots are brilliant cameras. Cheap as chips, they can take a beating, and they're super capable.
I was shocked to find out how cheap they were.
Really fun video! Have you considered making a video on soviet clone cameras such as FED vs their original counterparts?
I’ve not but I’ll add that to my list of potential videos!
I love the models!
Likewise!
A- the N90s has a faster shutter speed than my D3300... B- the other reason Leicas are so beloved is because they've got an excellent selection of lenses- and to me the lens and the film are the most important aspects, though you can't do it without a working body...
A- 1/8000th is crazy fast. It’s crazy to think that even modern cameras rarely go faster than that. B- I tried to avoid anything about lenses in this video and make it solely about the bodies, but you are absolutely right!
lets gooo! waiting for the channel blow up, congrats on the sponsor man
@@klohto thank you! I can’t believe I got one!
Do a video about shooting with expired film. you can get some really Unique results
Funnily enough the video before this one was about shooting a 60 year expired roll of film, unfortunately the roll came back blank and I had to scrap it😅
