Ulterium Records is proud to announce the release of "Angel In the Ashes," an all-star charity track for sale with 100% of the income going to feed homeless and refugee families in Greece. The song is being released under the banner Project Aegis, and was composed by Theocracy songwriter and vocalist Matt Smith.
"Angel In the Ashes" features vocals by Rob Rock (Solo, Impellitteri), Daísa Munhoz (Vandroya, Soulspell), Vasilis Georgiou (Sunburst, Black Fate), Leah McHenry (LEAH) and Smith, as well as a guitar solo by Gus Drax (Sunburst, Black Fate). The artwork was created by Markus Sigfridsson (Darkwater, Harmony).
"I've been wanting to do another charity single since we had such a great experience the first time around," says Smith. "The challenge was finding the time and the appropriate cause, as well as putting together a lineup worthy of the caliber of talent we had on the last song. I think we did it!"
"The song is about someone who decides to take that first step to help a person in a dark or dangerous situation. I was talking to some friends of mine who live in Greece, and every weekend they help feed the huge number of poor, homeless and refugee families in that area. It's a massive need, and the dollar you spend on this song can make a huge difference in providing a hot meal or a blanket for someone. It's a very worthy cause, and everyone involved in the track freely gave their time and talent to make this happen. We hope you enjoy it!"

Written, largely played, sung, mixed and mastered by Matt Smith. He's the founder of Theocracy. He's so talented that his first album was just him; writing, composing, singing, instruments, recording, mixing, mastering. 100% him. Go listen to something like "The Serpent's Kiss" from that first album and just keep in mind that it's ONE PERSON doing it all.
Daísa Munhoz is the best brazilian female metal singer! Vandroya is awesome!

Project Aegis is a charity project founded by Matt Smith of Theocracy, which is a Christian metal band. Vasilis Georgiou is the vocalist for Sunburst and Black Fate. Daisa Munhoz is the vocalist for Vandroya. Rob Rock is the vocalist for Impellitteri. And Leah is obviously the vocalist for LEAH. Guitars and bass in this song are both handled by Matt Smith while the solo is performed by Gus Drax, who is the guitarist (and bandmate of Vasilis Georgiou) of both Sunburst and Black Fate.
Matt Smith also does the arranging and mixing and production and..... genius.
I thinks it so cool to see Matt Smith of Theocracy getting more and more reacts and views in all his projects. He writes all the music and lyrics with this project he also plays guitar, plays bass and Theocracy's drummer does the drums and of course he sings as well and he's the one that mixed and produced these)..Very talented dude. you should also check out Theocracys cover of "Time" , some of his solo stuff and of course any Theocracy

Thanks for the reaction, after your reaction to "Hide in the Fairytale", I thought you might enjoy this one. It is just sheer energy, especially next to the last reaction to their song "And the Rest is Mystery" last week I believe. I think Matt Smith does all the mixing, besides writing the music and setting it up. If you are interested, he did a video on how he put together "And the Rest is Mystery" to include some of the mixing. I know what you mean about feeling a little exhausted after the song is over...

Hi , Matt Smith from Theocracy is Christian, for project aegis the important thing is all benefits goes for différents causes, différent guest from différent horizon, (pagan mind, lost horizon, Harmony, darkwater etc)
If you look at the lyrics, while it is a Christian writer, the lyrics are perfectly geared towards the charity they are supporting. I think the third song “And the Rest is Mystery” is the most Christian lyrically of all the Project Aegis songs.
Not exactly - at least a few of the participants in the project are Christians, but I don't think the lyrics are necessarily explicitly Christian. One of the vocalists (Matt Smith) is lead singer for Theocracy, and they are an amazing Christian metal band both musically and lyrically, which is a bit rare.
@@andrewawakened628 Amd ghe rest is mystery is. Call out to God, get saved, what fully happens to a person after that is a mystery. This song and ghe first one are geared towards the charities they supported, if you read the lyrics. Not explicit, but when you throw in tjings like prededtination, it is near or in the Christian realm.
