Riding on the tremendous success of their breakthrough album, The Grand Experiment, The Neal Morse Band set out on a tremendously successful world tour in the spring of 2015. Neal Morse and Mike Portnoy have teamed up with Randy George, Eric Gillette, and Bill Hubauer to create one of the greatest progressive rock bands of all time. Full stop. The Alive Again package shows them at the top of their form performing for a rousing audience in Holland March 6, 2015.

The Neal Morse Band performed Morsefest London 2024 at our church a couple of weeks ago, and without exaggeration, I can say that we witnessed two world-class performances by some of the most talented musicians alive today.
Neal's creativity does not come from this world; it is is divine.
This definitely a "duct tape your head before watching" type of video. one of my favorite video. The musicianship of every member is off the chain. And I love how they bring it all the way back to the beginning to end the song. Wonderful reaction!
You asked how they found each other. Neal and Mike Portnoy became friends when they both left their previous bands around 2000 (Spock's Beard/Dream Theater). They found Randy George somehow, then they asked for prospective new band members to send in their audition tapes. Eric Gilette and Bill Hubauer won the coveted places, and together they've got more combined talent than any other band I can think of.
Actually, Neal and Mike started to colaborate together with Transatlantic in the late 90's, when Neal was still in Spock's Beard and long before Mike drop out from Dream Theater.
neal morse is just from another world.. the music he creates is something else... every single harmony.. very single melody...it completely takes you to another dimension...it elevates you.. he is all i listen to... no other band can perform just the way they do.. and there is so many songs which you should listen and react.. its mindblowing...
To answer the question why Neal Morse is great at everything - his dad was a choir teacher so Neal was singing multiple harmonies at age 3, he started playing piano at 5 and guitar when he was 9. He was literally born to make music.
Portnoy always looks so happy playing drums with Neal I never knew Mike could play bass but these guys are all amazing

The Greatest live performance of one song I have ever seen (and heard). Only one that comes close is Transatlantic's The Whirlwind (live at Shepard's Bush in London).
I saw them play this live in the UK,it was jaw dropping,what combined talents,amazing band.

Remember Obelix? Neal Morse is the musical equivalent, only he fell in a barrel of talent and soaked up for half of humanity 😮. Further down the road he met some guys with a similar story and NMB was born.

Hey guys great spontanious reaction. I was supposed to be at that gig in the Netherlands but had a stroke a few days beforehand. Luckily I more or less fully recovered but have yet to see the Neal Morse Band perform live.
