I think one of the reasons I enjoy listening to this is that they’re both great comics but they don’t step on each other or speak over each other like on other Podcasts. It’s kind of refreshing.
Yeah they both seem like considerate people I'd enjoy hanging out with. Some people like the over the top yelling and stuff, i like more sensible ppl personally. Mark and Sam ftw ❤️

I couldn't agree more! I was trying to listen to some random pod the other day (I forget which one, but not one of my usuals) and had to turn it off because nobody could finish a single goddamn thought without being interrupted. It was driving me crazy.
Rory Scovel and Daniel Van Kirk are pretty good about letting each other finish a thought on the Pen Pals Pod.

Idk how you can appreciate anything about Tom Hardy without seeing Bronson. That’s an unbelievably iconic movie and role for him that is truly old school in its level of attention to detail and artistry in every shot and line and how they’re delivered.

As an airline pilot, I love listening to these guys riff about where they just came from and what was interesting about the place. Reminds me a lot of the conversations I have with my pilot friends about their adventures of the week.
This show has become my new go-to at night to help drift off to bed Especially when I’m on the road. It helps bring a little familiarity to unfamiliar territory. A little piece of home. It’s funny, lighthearted, no politics usually, and feels like you’re just hangin with the fellas. Cheers guys

A Face in the Crowd was filmed in my home town! Piggott, AR. They changed the name in movie but that is one of the few things of note that happened there.
Ernest Hemingway also had a home there. It is a museum now. You can check out the loft that he wrote a lot of The old man and the sea in.

Sam, next time you're in Pittsburgh Improv. Walk all the way the end of the strip mall, you will see an old pump house. Between the two banks of the river, was the Battle of Homestead. 3 Pinkerton detectives and 7 striking union workers were killed there. You will see a blue sign on the sidewalk. The Pinkerton Detectives were mostly used to bust strikes in the 1800s.

Guys. The penguin is Colin Farrel! How dare you insult Colin! Also, i saw Batman in theaters, it was extremely immersive, but even right after the movie, i thought if I weren't in a theater this prbly wouldn't grab my attention. It's kinda like forcing you to watch it and stay off your phone. So yeah, if you're gonna watch Batman see it in theaters. The sound, car parts, and action is insane. Last thing, I loved hearing from the Beer Jew. He was freaking great and i don't even drink

Tip for doing mushrooms… take them with orange juice and don’t chomp down on them too hard so they won’t get stuck in your teeth. When you start to taste them just have more orange juice and once they’re soft enough they break down and you can swallow them with no taste

@1:00 ~ fan during sleep. Depends on the temperature. If it's hot, use a fan. if it's cold refrain, but use the fan to change the air in the room. Air, exhaled from the lungs contains moisture, and it's not pure moisture, there's a hint of other things that is normally expelled from the lungs during breathing. So, if you get up in the night to tinkle, turn on the fan full blast to air out the room, while you're in the bathroom. Also, in the morning, as you leave the bedroom to start your day, turn on the fan for a half hour to air out the room. It makes for a fresher smelling room.

Bourbon is corn likker, and tastes really bad. Mixed drinks were invented to cover up the taste of corn likker and bathtub gin during Prohibition.

Am Delta flight attendant - we do have to say the snacks over and over again. Every jackass has their headphones in when we’re trying to talk to them, and then they ask over and over again what snacks we have.
Sam - get some good over-ear noise canceling headphones and play white or brown noise over them. I have the Sony wh-1000xm4’s. Worth every single penny. You won’t hear shot take-off to touch-down.
