Most underrated comedian of all time… very short list of people on CQ’s level
No one considers CQ underrated. Anyone who knows anything about comedy puts CQ as one of the most brilliant minds ever in stand up comedy. So in that sense, he is pretty much unanimously very highly rated by all his peers and justifiably so!
He doesn’t even do comedy, his specials are just lectures.
@@poorlittlemonkeyand they’re better than most comedies
@@poorlittlemonkeywe’re not talking about Dave Smith right now
@@iamsamsam1265he’s 100% underrated.
I love how straight forward Colin was. He’s so refreshingly genuine. Joe, you are making a living being a comedian. That’s a huge accomplishment. Enjoy what you have done instead of dwelling on what others have done.
Colin is one of the all time great comics.
I can’t wait to be 49 years old and watch Joe do a pod with his son all grown up ❤
I’m an open mic comic who’s sober 4 plus years and recently working on other non substance addictions. You are a gem man. Please know that you are so so important for those of us who are looking inward. Normand and Rogan and all the others are great, but some of us really need you out there man. Thank you.
Congrats! Keep up that good good!
Don’t forget through the whole process that your father’s gay.
Facts
Ryan I’m glad you shared. I love Joe Lists comedy. I am sober and it’s helped my program tremendously. You can tell List’s comedy has helped him. I’m sure it’s the same for you. Keep it up bud go get ‘em
Xhamster addict? 😂
19:16 Gotta watch your words around CQ. The greatest ball buster of all time 😂😂
Colin Quinn was my whole MTV childhood🤗
I was just picturing him in his Varsity jacket, straight leg jeans & high top leather sneaks 😆
Awesome! Love those memories😁🤗
John Prine was still putting out good (even though not his best) music late into his career. And it was really great to see how popular he became
paul mccartney and willie nelson are still putting out masterpiece albums almost once a year each
Sins on memphisto 👌🏻
There is literally footage on RUclips of Paul Schrader telling Colin Quinn to his face (on Jim and Sam) that Taxi Driver wasn't written in three days and Colin still says that again here lol good stuff, another great episode!
Up yours
This whole ep was a gem, and just as hilarious as you’d expect from Joe and Colin, but for some reason this exchange tickled the hell out of me:
Joe: “But for the legend CQ I’ve gotta have some notes …”
Colin: “Damn right.”
Joe: “… but my phone is charging over there.”
Colin, mildly surprised: “Oh!”
this is probably the best interview with Colin Quinn which feels overdue, other comics seem too threatened to properly interview comic legends, great job and cool podcast Joey List! Get CK on the pod!
The episodes with lesser known people are some of my favorites, and obviously these ones with more famous people are great too!
My two favorite comedians on my favorite podcast. Gonna be a good day!
Smart, kind of nerdy, comedians like this can never make in the US. Same with a lot of incredibly talented musicians. Had to go to the UK to be truly appreciated. US has too much of an anti-intellectual culture.
CQ is one of the best to ever do it. His contributions to comedy is what helped start the boom we are in
Was feeling lonely and depressed on this Sunday night. And the usual anxieties that plague me every Sunday night before the work week were also firing as well. But thx to you and this pod I feel better
Colin reminiscing is always such fun to hear. Thanks joe for this nugget of time with the great CQ.
Ashamed to admit that I just found this pod, the first one I watched was H. Foley. I’ve been watching/listenin to old ones since. “Be good to yourself” hits hard. Thank you Joe List.
Great get Joe !! Colin is my favorite ever…..Also, I love when you have conversations with guys like me, a Singer-Songwriter/ welder/ nobody from Nashua, New Hampshire 😂. Frankly Joe, I’ll watch anything you do! Thank You 🙏🏿
Can't wait to hear this, thanks Joe!
Great pod Joe, I always love hearing from Colin.
This was great. I love hearing about behind the scenes of comedy. I would love to see you do more of these with other NY greats live Vos, Norton or Nick.
It's great to hear my idols in comedy talk about depression and anxiety we all have it in us but you don't expect funny people to have it in them, so I appreciate you taking about it 😂 thanks, love a LIST love a QUINN 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼👍🏼😃
They're no heroes.
Love this ep. I'm glad Joe brought up Colin's Twitter because his page is one of the funniest. The tweets about his act and how great it is kill me. "You people want great comedy then I deliver it and you go “ what’s next?” Seriously? What’s next?…What’s next with you, greedy? How about some breathing room, fans!"
Tweets like that and his intentionally captain-obvious sports commentary.
Appreciate you Joe! Love listening to Colin. Love ALL the episodes but this is great.
Great interview. Glad to see Joe challenge Colin in friendly persuit of comedy and truth.
So glad this podcast is back!!!!
awesome pod joe! i was listening to them but now i gotta rewatch em on the pube tube
congratulations on the family! All the love in the world to you and your wife health and happiness to the kid thank you for all the laughs over the years
Love Colin, and you're lucky to have him as a friend great pod ❤❤❤
2 things, Joe said "thanks for having me" I hope it was on purpose cuz that was hilarious.
the fact that CQ did this, gives me hopes (that I'm sure will be dashed to pieces) that on CK will come on. He's so introspective and funny on pods, and List and CK are fun together (if you haven't watched the commentary for 4th of July, GO DO THAT) and maybe Dipalo will come on??
Damn Dipaolo would be great. Could def see Louis coming on. He did the thing with Shane for no reason, wasnt even promoting anything
Great ep, love seeing Colin on any pod👌
You've got a wee yin coming and you're working hard. Good to see. Love this!
I love these guys, some of the best comedians out there
This was an incredible episode!
Please do more podcasts Colin this was a treasure💪🏽
In the Rich Voss roast, he said about Bonnie: "Who knew that's what she meant when she said she was coming to New York to get stupid rich?"
That was Florentine
“Enough for Everyone” is hilarious
I’ve watched it numerous times since it came out
Love Colin Quinn. Great episode.
totally agree about the sopranos, I couldn't even finish it
I hear you. By that last season I was over Tony. Can’t watch it now.
damn this is way better than most pod interviews...lets keep this going
Awesome show! Thank you
Joe , you hit on something good with this POD. Man people suffer from depression, anxiety and addiction. Personally I benefit from the honest conversation.
Stay the course ! CQ conversation was great.
It is my first time being here,
because I saw the guest,
your friend,
legend,
one of the great comics of all time,
Colin Quinn.
Love the big fish in the pod!!!
Oh, love Quinn as well.
Ive seen some stinky podcasts with Colin and thought this might be one of those, but you really got a great vibe out of him. Way to draw him in.
Great stuff Joe & Colin! Anyone else wonder what's up with Joe's golf commentator voice on the intro?🤣
I loved this! 🔥
Great convo
This was great!
Love CQ love seeing him on here but I do enjoy the people I don’t know because of the new perspective and experience each person has
Oh man, this is gonna be a great one!
Great job Joe. Glad to see you back up and running with these. The South Shore remains proud of you. I know it's your brand but I think, as a gift to your impending son, it's time to stop hating yourself. You deserve everything you've earned and you matter to a lot of people. Now go and matter to yourself.
Hey Joe, we love all the guests. ;)
I'd have liked Joe to ask Colin some questions about the depression once he brought it up. How'd it start and why? How'd you get out of it and get unfat? It was interesting to hear him say he didn't even realize it was happening at the time. Good topic for MMJ
Legend! Great pod Joe!
Im glad I understand Colin Quinn
Great job, Colin is a freaking treasure.
I was just gonna listen to tues with stories old ones caz I love it and Joe list is one of my favs opened my yt and saw Mr Joe list ok 👌
1:04:26 "Attack Joe. Tell him, Joe you don't look that tough to me"
You'r great Joe. Carry on carrying on.
I can't believe youtube didn't tell me about this! I was about to miss a MMJ ep!
LOVE these guys
I think Joe & Colin talk movies would be pretty great haha (I’m a fan of Raanan too btw)
Colin Quinn: the audience can never feel sorry for you
Joe List: oh, boy...
great episode!!
Great Ep!
What a fun watch ❤️
Love the List!
The List is Life 🙏🏻
2 of my top 4 favorite comics ever (others- Norm, Harland Williams)
The legendary genius
CQ
I saw Norm Macdonald and Colin Quinn do a show where they did alternating 15 minute sets, for a total of two hours of Norm and Colin. God it was great
"Can we really characterize you as a famous comedian?"
CQ from the top rope.
Joe List you mean so much to me. Thank you for your work. Sarah Tollemache is so great too !!!And CQ? Forget about it
Thank you!!
CQ! He hates pods, but has some of my favorite guest appearances on them. Loved him on MSSP, We Might Be Drunk and I’m sure this will be great as well 🤘
He would be great though. Those walks around NY neighborhoods is really good.
You can see Joe is a true fan. Just the way he brings up Nick at the end
So happy MMJ is up and churning em out again. Love ya Joe. We're keeping a spot warm for you here in Red Bank my man! Don't forget it's a 20 minute ferry ride to the city And I can't wait to hear you describe how amazing approaching Manhattan on the water feels.
Forgot the ferry runs from there as well now. If they had moved already they could have had the baby at Riverview. Soon, he could do a run at the Count Basie ❤
@@samanthab1923 I was born in Riverview medical center, and I have thought about him doing count basie and that new theater by the gallery. See you at the shows homie.
@@alexpalette Very cool 👋
This may be the best one yet boys
35:10 CQ should write a book about this. Or maybe a thin and concise pamphlet called "Acting without Acting."
Joe- you should work with Matt mccusker on his psych naw project. It’s a group of fans that help eachother work on mental health over discord. But Matthew hasn’t put much work into it recently, and that’s where your organized mindset could help
DUBROWS IN THE GARMENT DISTRICT. GREAT MATZOH BALL SOUP. 😊😊😊
Two legends!
great ep
Your intro worked. See you in Philly!
Joe rules. Its weird hearing people like him talk about his comedy idols when he's mine and so many others. Slower paced List is a different vibe but still insightful & most importantly funny. My father is also gay
The King(s) of Content
I’m a 21 year old doofus who just got into comedy these past couple years. I’ve known of Sal through Impractical Jokers. I got into DeRosa and Distefano through their podcast because of Sal. Mark, Sam and Joe became some of my favorite comedians. I didn’t know who you guys were because I barely became an actual fan of comedy a couple years ago, but through guests on podcasts I’ve read up on and watched so many comedians. 9:03
Same, of course I love comedy & knew CK but all the rest? No clue. I didn’t listen or watch podcasts till Covid. Had no idea Rogan was this king maker of comedy 😂
@@samanthab1923 No Comedy Central?
great episode
This has the makings of a damn good podcast.
Yes two of my faves together 😊☝🏻
List stinks
@@cereal_thinkerOh cereal 😅
I think your point about the Sopranos is good. Seems like a question of tone: what's the tone of the show if some of the characters are these literal cartoon characters? At the same time as a drama it can still work because in real life some people really are cartoon characters. I guess to people who like it find it adds depth to the drama and people who don't like it find the tone is all over the place.
Bedtime Magic with David Allan Boucher intro 🎙️
Really appreciate this podcast and your insight, Joe. Keep it up man. My father's gay.
Great sode Colin and Joe!
sometimes i wish i could just go to sleep and never wake up
Quality content!
Fantastic interview. Couple of comedy dynamos!! Come on down to Virgina Beach funny Bone. Attell was here last weekend and it warmed my gay heart.
You're intro had a similar vibe to your funcle Joe congrats video for James. No wonder Luis didn't show it to him he would have had nightmares.
Colin Quinn and Joe List…never clicked on an ep so fast
Genuinely enjoyed that “famous comedian” tangent… CQ is a great influence
