I've got a car and it actually almost broke down on my way to see SWMRS earlier this month. my best friend and I pulled over to the side of the road and had to FaceTime my dad so he can see what's wrong under the hood. the abs light came on and a cap was loose. i tightened it and we ended up making it right on time and had an amazing time

You know what the best thing about this is? Not a fucking cell phone anywhere in the crowd, ok maybe one but you get the point. Its just the kids feeding off the band's energy and vice versa, the way it used to be and the way it should be! Saw these guys with The Frights. Im really liking this new wave of indie rock/garage punk, whatever you want to call it.

ok for anyone who is new to SWMRS. This will probably answer most of your questions. SWMRS used to be called Emily's army. They were signed to a record label and had released music. They started to secretly play shows under the name "Swimmers" when they felt their record label was trying to push the fact that the drummer's dad is Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day too much. They felt the label was trying toake them a "Green Day Jr." Eventually, they bought themselves out of their contract, changed their name to SWMRS (because when u search swimmers on Google its all pictures of Michael Phelps lol) and released their debut album Drive North under their own record label. They were recently signed to FBR and have reissued Drive North with new songs including this one "Palm Trees"

I checked these guys out just recently after hearing about them for a while and I'm pleasantly surprised at how good they are (FBR signing actual punk bands!)! I went into it knowing that Joseph (drummer) is Billie Joe's son. I'm surprised that barely any of the comments bring that up. Joseph won't have to live in his dad's shadow. Hopefully in the future it'll be like... Fan: you're Billie Joe from Green Day's son?" Joseph: "yeah I am" Fan: "oh, that's cool" end of convo.
