Combat/fighting training that is done for a couple of hours a week over a couple of months. Of course elite units and special forces get different/longer training. and the instructors have no illusions about turning everyone into a commando. But my wife told me that the IDF training is about being aggressive... Moving forward and bringing the attack to the the enemy. That they drilled into her... To move toward the threat! Be the threat! She said Krav Maga is a lot about having the right mind set. It was about moving towards danger... Moving towards the shooting and the violence. Because this is not a natural thing...It's something you have to learn.
She is right, if we sit down and each time waited for enemies to attack us then we would have been in even more deep 💩.. Who trained “ Jason Bourne” Denzel, Washington” equalizer” the list can go on and on and on- Krav Maga purpose is compared to come back- and what they teach in America or other countries, unless they served as instructor in the IDF then they went to classes for years and then open their own studio… From personal experience, I have worked with 75 Regiment rangers, Green Berets, delta force, Marines seals and other special units how to handle knives, chokes, and situation that most people will freeze, and you from repetitions repetitions will disable, no matter what size weight height, anyone. I got my instructorship in Jeet Kune Do. I also got black belt level in Krav Maga. It was basically the same thing except JKD did a bit more trapping mixed with some Filipino knife 🔪 fighting.
