- This is the epic song track off Thomas Dolby's new CD "A Map of the Floating City" featuring guitar by Mark Knopfler. See Thomas Dolby on the Time Capsule Tour starting at SxSW in March-April 2012.
One of his best, love this
Trust me, Thomas Dolby is a true Timelord, Yes!
Wouldnt have worked without Knopflers guitar. Dolbys genius shines through yet again.
I first saw Dolby on a tv talent show performing Windpower. His music can be so abstract and sometimes strange but he's always had an appeal to me that i can't explain. Something enigmatic about him. I love his music but i don't know why!
Mark Knopfler is great on guitar, as always.
This song is touched by magic. The guitar from Mark Knopfler is impeccable. Very special.
Fantastic can't get enough of this song! The building of this song and ofcourse the guitarplaying of Mark!!
Incredible song and production - up there with 'Screen Kiss' for the melancholy reflective wonder and emotion it induces - He's a MASTER craftsman of the narrative song.... floods your brain with imagery when listening.... like "I Love You Goodbye" just perfect.
Maybe the best song on this CD... Thanks for the upload.
TD will always be a huge inspiration.
Not a big fan of this album, but my compliments to Mr Dolby for exploring many styles and not allowing himself to get in a rut. Keep exploring and enjoy the journey :)
his songs make soulmates..
Poor old Matthew Seligman on fretless bass, RIP.
Beautiful as always from the incredible Mr. Dolby.
I'm a big butch, hairy-arsed ex matelot.. but the beauty of this just blows me away. I'm almost moved to tears by it.
Tom. You did it again mate.
another td song i can't get enough of...
I think this song is about San Francisco and Alcatraz. Makes me cry everytime.
Been a fan since "submarine". Wish he was more prolific. Jah bless Thomas!
Beautifully done.
Magical musical journey
Absolutely beautiful, though I think it would have been cool with Mark Knopfler harmonizing or doing a bit of BV's.
I wanna know what happens to the convict when he gets out on the waves.... does he drown... or survive?
Take a wild guess...
