    I have my Freedom set to weak pedal assist c14 = 1 and generally use pedal assist 2 which gives me about 360 watts. The bike goes 19-22 mph and I have been getting 70+ miles using little or no throttle. I was told the extra large motor is super efficient like this and it’s proven by only requiring 360 watts to cruise at 20mph. Don’t like going any faster on paths or trails but it’s nice to be able to go 35mph with car like acceleration when needed. Bike is so fun and useful!

      These are the range numbers I was really curious about. Torture test range estimates don’t tell us anything about long real-world rides at legal class 1/2 speeds with mild assistance and gentle acceleration, which is what I suspect most riders will be doing when riding long distances.

    I usually get around 30 miles to a charge. That's in a somewhat hilly area, and I'm 250lbs.
    But I also once killed it at 27 miles, so it depends.
    Longest range was 37 miles and I rode half of that in just peddal assist 1 and 2 and throttled it back. I think I could get 50 if I really kept pedal assist low the whole time.
    Top speed was 42.3mph on a slight, but long, downhill grade.
    Rack attachments were bent in shipping, but I like it better with no rack or fenders.

    • @RobertHaworth
      @RobertHaworth Год назад +1

      @@bartmanfan99 I am back as promised ...... The Wicked Freedom Ebike is a bargain price for this bike. The Grizzly V3 has more torque getting up to 30mph than the Wicked Freedom with both 1,000 watt motors turned on. The Wicked Freedom is a cruiser and is easier to pedal because the seat easily adjust up or down. I am 6'2" tall some the Grizzly is more cramped to pedal without a taller custom made seat. In a drag race ....... The Grizzly is quicker to 30mph. I haven't really compared top speed yet because it is too cold in Michigan right now. You can't go wrong with either of these monsters. I would too, but I already have an ebike. I am considering upgrading it in a few ways like a higher capacity motor with bigger battery as that would only see me going for a shorter distance which would suck, and the controller has to match. I also want to take out the 7 gears in the back as it bounces, and is not nearly as stable as as a single speed.

Do you feel like if you did a throttle only range test that it would chew up the battery a lot faster? Also I'm kind of surprised you didn't put it on cruise control and let it just run around 20 to 23 mph instead of pedaling in pedal assist number 2. Anyway thank you for another great video. Will swap out handlebars for more aggressive low riser bar MTB style and longer adjustable stem, new Grips, platform pedals that clip in on one side, remove fenders, set it up for Recon and Off Road Trail Adventures. Might try those anti flat foam tire inserts that prevent flats and allow lower tire pressures... Should be fun!!!! Google 60v lithium voltage table. 57.6 volts is 50%. You want to note the voltage under load to best estimate your remaining range. You probably were at about 40% remaining. A voltage table is much more accurate than any gauge or meter on a display. Great that it gives you voltage on main screen.

And are of average size. So I hope that this will perform the way I want it to with my big frame. Will post back when I get it and tell you how it performs. Big German out.

    So, this is actual real world range. Website for this bike advertises 80 miles. Then FAQ's to reinforce that: "What is the "real world" range on the battery?
    Approximately 80 miles.
    Our battery is one of the largest on the market. That is an undisputable fact. 60v 20ah with LG cells is outrageous! What this means is that our batteries have 1200wh. Just do a google search of the battery size of our competitors (Rad Power, Aventon, Juiced, Sondors, Ariel Rider...). No other ebike comes close. Unfortunately, a lot of companies greatly exaggerate the distance that their ebikes can travel on a single charge. Most of them are 48v 14ah batteries. Unless you are going downhill or getting a serious burn in your leg muscles from peddling so hard, 30 - 40 miles is the most you will achieve on a small battery. Its just physics! "
    So, actual real-world is less than 1/2 of advertised. Good to know. Thank you!

    So add about 15 minutes 20 seconds it cut out, you said. However, you were still peddling at 15 miles an hour, so there was probably battery assist. It is not easy to consistently pedal any bicycle at that speed. Seems to me that you are still getting some sort of assistance. What do you think?

      Typically these ebike batteries are good for 800 to 1000 charge cycles. They can last a while if you maintain them. I have some batteries that are 4 years old that still work fine.

    It seemingly has more power than the mid drives you’ve showed along with being far easier to operate as no changing of gears is a necessity. It’s only a matter of how lax you want your ride to go.

    • @ActivityPhoto
      @ActivityPhoto Год назад

      Its all because of the battery voltage and high current controller. Put your average mid drive of 60 volts and feed it 40 amps and you'll soon know what power really feels like.

      @@ActivityPhoto I hear yah. I have never driven a mid drive before. The oak cement of it is ideal, because of the even weight, and being able to change tires and still have the motor not being disturbed. The only “issue” is needing to change gears which can slip ones kind, or you may not want to as it’s suppose to be as relaxed as one can make it while enjoying a ride. The new drive systems coming out with appropriate go kart chains make up for the issue of stripping chain drives, or even needing to change gears back & forth throughout a as stress free of a ride one ideally would like.

      You should store them at 50% and charge them to 80 or 90% whenever practical and not discharge below 25% for optimal life. You get 4x the cycle life charging to 80% vs 100% and 2.5x if you charge to 90%. You should only charge to 100% if you really need it for a long ride. On the other hand, charging to 100% should be good for 800 cycles and at 40 miles a charge that’s 32,000 miles and you’re probably going to be on a hover bike by then.
