Hello, Katharine! For me, idioms are the most difficult part of English. But, here, you presented the lesson interestingly! You gave pronunciation tips and that is so important for me as a foreign learner. And the story examples that you added in the explanation were also interesting and important for clarity. And, I think “once in a blue moon” is my favourite. Well, perhaps it reminds me of “Blue Moon of Kentucky”, a country song that I like best. I agree with you that moon usually refers to romanticism. Thank you for the lesson and have a lovely weekend!

Hello Katharine, you are a native english speaker, so I'm interested in your pronunciation. I'm pleased to hear your voice when you are teaching. Thanks a lot sister. You are a superb teacher. God bless you.
I created ten sentences using your idioms. They are typed below. 1 It was raining with thunder yesterday , while i was ploughing my paddy field. My father shouted me to return home soon. So , i called it a day. 2 He was upset with his weak knoledge of english and finaly decided to learn it from basics. So i consoled him , by telling better late than never. 3 Total mooner eclipses occur once in a blue moon. 4 Nowadays , i am under the weather , due to lack of enough money. 5 I asked him his autobiography , but he cut a long story short. 6 He is a poor public servant who has been suffering from high blood cholesterol for many years. He decided to walk daily to his office , instead of going in a taxy. So , he killed two birds with one stone. 7 Everybody is trying to leave the country , because people are up in the air. 8 I am always all ears with your english learning lessons on you tube. 9 He told me that his boss was kind , so join with his company. Then i saw eye to eye. 10 He had told her that he was unmarried. But he let the cat out of the bag , as he did show his right ring finger with a ring , to her.
It is very important to have a huge quantity of idioms , slangs and proverbs when learning a foreign language. Thanks a Lot for your teaching, I hope You continúe to do it. Regards ! .
