I remember the beginning. When i started learning English. I consumed the American a lot, but since I discovered the British accents fallen in with. I stopped listening to Americans. Nowadays, I consume only British content and follow native speakers from the UK. British accents are quite beautiful. ❤
Hi! I'm from Texas and the reason I'm watching is because my children insist I read them the Harry Potter books WITH the accents 😅 I will say I've never met a person who didn't like British accents and it's always lovely to listen to anyway.
Hi! My name is Margarita and I'm from Ukraine the centre of Europe. Last year I have been escaped from the war to Sheffield and lived there for a while. Now I am at home again and continue to learn English because I love it!
Sorry, but I have to correct. The center of Europe are countries like Austria, Czechia, Switzerland, Hungary, Italy and the like, but never (!!!) the Ukraine....
Great video! I live in Canada and most people here usually say I have a 'British accent,' but Brits can always tell it's not spot on. I never really considered myself as having or even working towards a 'British' accent, but, since people here find it cool and it's (apparently) something doable, then.. why not? Hence here I am! Thanks for the tips.
Hi ! I'm from France and I want to learn the British accent since the UK is the closest English-speaking country to my place ! I also love the way it sounds compared to other accents like the American accent.
I'm from Portsmouth in the Uk, and I would say I have an "estruary" accent, which is the standard accent in the south east of England. In my city we also have the "pompey" accent which is a bit more cockney sounding but for some reason I don't sound too much like that. I've noticed the way to "REALLY" tell if the difference between upper/rp vs estruary is the way they'd pronounce "little". If they pronounce the "t"s like a "ckh" sound then they are trully genuine as most of us cannot imitate this. THAT is what separates the so called "Upper class" or "RP" accent from standard estruary accents from the south. I mean it's subtle but it's noticable to any native speaker of English or ones on that level.
Hello, I'm from Thailand. My husband is a Londoner we've been married for over ten years. But he doesn't speak a cockney accent to me. The RP accent is so classy I really love to hear those who speak the RP accent it makes me want to copy them.
Was very difficult for me at the beginning to be more familier witht the british accent ( Live in South London), but now i am quite confident et happy to FINALLY understand the english channel like BBC. I am also glad as i studied english at the british council in Rabat-Morocco before moving here in this beautiful country ( i like the weather, i 'am note a sun person yes they exist 🤣haha)
Hello mate I’m from morocco so the reason why i want to learn the British accent is when i had visited london i felt in love with this accent ❤ it really inspired me , thanks for ur efforts
I figured out your video recently, and it's so grateful for me. I started learning English in London, because I went to Europe in a backpacking way, but I decided to take advantage of that trip and invest my money learning English. As a Mexican, I always (or most of the time) had heard american English, and that's the problem because, in this part of the world, we are more influenced by American English (especially in Mexico and all Latin America), but the real English that I try to practice is British English since I came back to my country; I think I like more than English from USA. (I don't like to said American English, because America is all the continent not only the USA, but you know...) So, I love your channel, your videos, your accent, and you pronunciation. By the way, you're so handsome. Thanks a lot.
Hi is Guido Italian, but from Brasil. I was working for so many years for an American company and speaking with their accent. Now, being 75, I really wont to learn to speak the real English and asking for a bo le of wo ah. Thanks Ben for your help in it
Hi Benjamin. Thank you for your work. I enjoyed watching your video. I am from Poland and I have lived in Britain for 17 years but I still can't aquire the British accent. I do speak English almost fluently, in fact, I do think in English as well. I do watch films and shows in English and I communicate mostly in English in my everyday life. I lost hope I'll be able to have a British accent ever....
I am Brazilian. It is easier for us to understand the British accent. It sounds so beautiful. Thanks for these tips. I will keep following you from now on.
Thanks for this cheerful and authentic RP accent. However, if I may contribute with my humble experience. About intonation and practice, I strongly believe that the key here is "mean what you say". If I mean what I say, I'll learn to stress the important words and meaningful syllables. In other languages, a nuance adjustment in the sentence can change the sentence whereas in English, a nuance adjustment just changes the stress and intonation. Concerning choice of words, what really helps is reading. Reading English books enriches the vocabulary directory a lot

Hi, Benjie. I am from Indonesia, and I just hit the Subscribe button as this video truly intrigued me to do so. For the past few years, I have been constantly torned choosing between British English and American English, which fits me better and which accent should i improve. Because I mainly speak in American accent on my regular basis, but sometimes when i feel more relaxed-I am comfortable enough to speak using British Accent. However one thing i noticed, i have been practicing myself in writing using BE style simply by differentiate the vocab like emphasise, recognise, favour, behaviour. On and on, from this video I’ve determined myself to master the British Accent because I am planning to continue my study to UK/Scotland next year. Wish me luck, btw!
Just enjoy your own accent. Hone your pronunciation, intonation and stress patterns, by all means. However, unless you are a spy you don't need to "mask" your own accent and identity
