Hi, Katharine! When I was in London a few years ago, I went to a language school and you were a teacher of my B2 class. I remember you as a warm and kind teacher. So I'm really happy to learn English from you, again! Thanks for the videos♥️
Dear Kathrine, these idioms are highly important, all 8 idioms. This video effects not only our English knowledge, but also navigate to the happy successful direction in our not easy life These where perfectly gathered.
"All things must pass", truly touched me. A lot of things happened to a lot of us during pandemic. Some good, some bad. It's a good reminder that things will get easier and we all must be brave! Thank you for that!
I am from India. Living in UK. I learned from your videos. My British friend she just wondered and asked me where did u learn all these😊. I showed ur video. Thanks much Katherine. Ur video really helping me to communicate❤
First, congrats on your 100.000 subscribers, dear Kate! Hopefully you're now on your way to half a million! Insane! ;-) Beautiful lesson Katherine, thank you! I like idioms and proverbs. Some of my faves (coming to my mind right now) were not quoted so here there are: Slow and steady wins the race! (Though Rome wasn't built in a day is quite similar indeed:-) Actions speak louder than words! It’s better to be safe than sorry Learn to walk before you run A problem shared is a problem halved Where there's a will, there's a way You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs Beauty is in the eye of the beholder 'One single being you miss and the world is depopulated' / un seul être vous manque et tout est dépeuplé ! (from the magnificent poem 'l'isolement' de Lamartine) Absence makes the heart grow fonder Bisous 😘🌹❤
congratulations Katharine ❤️ i'm not surprised if you'll have 1 million subscribers soon cos you're a very lovely teacher! Your voice is relaxing me while learning unlike other teachers they make me panic or anxious 😬 by the way, my husband told me he chose you to be his teacher as well cos you speak to him 😉 we love you 🥰
Hello Katharine!! 😀 Loved these proverbs!! 😊 My favorite one is: “Rome wasn’t built in a day”; in Spanish it’s said the same: “Roma no se construyó en un día”, although we also say: “Zamora no se ganó en una hora” 😁😁 Best regards from Spain! 🇪🇸❤️🇬🇧 🤗

Actually all of them are worth refreshing our minds about, but let’s say number 6 is my favourite cause we have its equivalent in Arabic : “ if you lose focus on sth, you may lose it” 😂 Thank you Katharine ❤
It all paid off. Now you have more than 100,000 subscribers. I have watched you since it was just 2,000 subscribers. By the time, I thought "how on earth she just gets 2,000, her videos are bloody good compared to some". Seeing your channel growing up every is cheerful for me. Love from VietNam
Albert from Moscow Hello Katie!! I wish you a marvelous weekend. Your selection of provrbs is beautiful, but you are fabulous!! Talking of life, I had a teacher of English who used to say, "Life is too short for long words and sentences." I'd like to add two more proverbs: "Life is made up of little things," and "Life is not a bed of roses." Like you, I worship proverbs. Some time ago I worked in Egypt and managed to gather more than 4,000 sayings. Good luck! ❤❤❤
My favorite proverb is “Rome wasn’t built in a day”! Because it reminds me the effort is worth and all the good things take time😊 Congrats to 100000 subscribers Katharine💜 You always brighten up my day, also, your videos are very helpful for me to go to UK next year✨
Actually iam from INDIA, and i follow your lessons from last two months, your proverbs, and way of your teaching appreciated, once again congratulations.
The quote that is central to my life (surprisingly) comes from Karen Traviss' "Star Wars: Commando" novels. "Family is more than bloodline." I had been living by that philosophy for most of my life, and didn't realise it until I read it in those five simple words.
The thing which I like the most about you is the lucid language you learn and I too have become quite lucid. And there're no words for the sweetness of your voice dear teacher. Respect from India
The prophet Mohamed my god bless him and grant him peace he said before 1400 years (( a believer is not stung twice ( by something ) out of one and the same hole )) My regards to you my sister I am flowing you from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 i hope one days you visit my country well come any time my country very beautiful
Sounds weird above your roof? Don't be afraid any more. V2 is not longer exist, so one can only found it in a museum in Berlin!... I'm personally obsess with famous quotes like those Confucius, Goether... Let's take out 1: "Three things can not be hidden longer, the sun, the moon and the truth." Therefore lying is a big mistake that one can't do the second time.
I love your channel! Lots of these idioms are also in Finnish language, but the best one is "Once Bitten, Twice Shy". Translation into Finnish says: "Siperia opettaa", which means "Siberia teaches you". Which actually means that don't make the same mistake again. There's a historical meaning to this in Finland. Goes back to WW||.
Rome wasn't built in a day.👍 Great proverb for me, b'coz I'm struggling in my goal from last few years. I hope I'll achieve it soon. Better days will come.
I was lucky enough to find such a dictionary brimming with idiom in a thrift shop, because they are very rare newprinted , and - or because- they cost you an arm and a leg. You know what they say.. after I took a gander in second hand book shops... " Seek and ye will find " ( I especially love the old fashioned proverbs with thy ,thou , thee or ye in it , puzzling away what they exactly mean) 😊
It's pleasnt to listen to teacher Catherine explaining. So I'm using the qualifier of "teacher" even I ignore her appreciation about it. Thanks from Algeria
All that glitters is not gold . In Russian it sounds like Не все золото,что блестит All thins must pass Все проходит, и это тоже. Actually this proverb came to different languages from Solomon.
A teacher is he or she who can make his or her teaching a fun so that his or her audience enjoy .You have this art. Great madam
