    Thank you for this video. I have been a second hand junkie for pretty well all of my life. This is great information that you are sharing. How to value something for me is pretty well a guessing game. Most of the time I am just going from a gut feeling. Thanks again, now off to check some of your other videos.

    Hey Pete! Great videos. Very interesting to see how its done over there in USA. I'm from UK but live in Norway. We have a site called Finn.no which is like Craigslist and I hunt for mid century furniture (usually for free or very cheap) and resell on the same site or to dealers. Keep up the great content. Thanks

    Very nice video series. This just enhances the belief that there is a buyer for everything. People everywhere want something, all we have to do is find what they want. What some people see as junk someone else will see as a treasure. I have bought flats at auctions for few dollars and by the piece have more than qudrupled my investment. Some of those engines may show up at a swap meet and make the buyer a little money too, you never know. As long as eveyone is happy.

    I have been playing qith this idea in my head of starting my own business at home and utilize craigsl6and goodwills. I have found some amazing deals and I upholstered two couches already. I am thankful to have found your very informative videos!! you are an awesome guy for sharing your knowledge!!!

      try not to utilize goodwills just craiglist. utilziing goodwills for this purpose is destroying the purpose of goodwills. for all the people that can't afford to shop anywhere else your taking all the good stuff and marking it up in price.

      jjtonelli Not true, Goodwill, etc., does a lot more than simply make things available cheap to those who can't afford to buy new! For instance, Goodwill hires people who need work, such as the disabled, or who need 'real work' experience to qualify for jobs elsewhere, sort of a 'stepping stone' into the open workforce. They also use their profits to support various charitable needs.

    you mention your "shop". what is that? How do advertise for your shop - how do people find your shop - do they donate - is it a pawn shop? how does this "shop" operate? is it in your home or do you rent space?

  • @rpkrayz
    @rpkrayz 5 лет назад

    It blows my mind that people bring that kind of stuff to a shop without doing one bit of research.

    I cant believe you are on here bragging about taking advantage of this person, Your partner is a scammer. He is a joke, He knew what he was buying..................................

  • @therudeamerican1912
    @therudeamerican1912 7 лет назад +1

    SO you paid for those engines $150, then you had to pay someone to research and list them, that's like $350, then you have 10% ebay fees and also Postage fees and some only sold for like $68.00 and you have a 10% shipping fee. Then you have to pay someone to pack them and take them to the post office. You are exaggerating your profits a great deal. It;s not $2,000 on a $150 investment. You also have your partners time to make the purchase, you have to factor in your costs to maintain that shop. Again you are being very misleading. Yes if it was you alone doing this your time would also be worth something but your actual profit for these engines being that you still have 10 left likely did not sell? Your profit is a lot lower than you are claiming. I wish you could and would be more honest.
