I have an '06 TL and the previous user used a PIN to lock her user data (Home address, etc) as 'User 1'. How can I clear out the navi for a new user so I can use all the functions? I went to the Diag Screen, hit Unit Check and then Navi.ECU - there is a button there called 'Mem Clear' - what does that do? Will it clear out old user data? Thanks!

My dvd box in the trunk doesn't have any power so the dvd screen in front says please check disc I tried connecting another box to it in the trunk and it says downloading but seconds later it says please check disc again

Sorry for a long delay before answering. If you still want to know, its actually automatic and depending on what region your gps is set. You can change to us or can in the navi diag panel by pressing map menu and cancel at once for 3s
Hi Patrick. Does your software work for 2009 models. The update CDs cost almost 200$ a pop and the maps are still not up to date. Can you tweak those like you did the one for the 04-08 acuras?

have Canadian 04 TL with 3.60 orange disk. Doesn't seem to work with mine, and thats using only your files, but with my own BMP splash screen. My BMP shows up, none of the hacks do. blew four CDs before giving up. Yes I followed the video and forum text to a Tee. No I didn't pull the battery neg cable after each failed disk to see if that would help, will do that in summer with the 5th and final disk as a lark and try again using your unaltered bin files, I don't care if it reverts to your personal splash, as long as the other hacks show up I suspect its being blocked by the bug that showed up mere month or two before I tried this trick out. (Dec. 2020) I speak about the 16 yr Navi bug, that happened not long before trying this. Basically the 04 has the calendar stuck on Jan 2002 perpetually, no change at all. The GPS time/date is not matching to current time, but the year is totally out and cannot be altered via customer menu settings OR the three button mechanics diagnostic trick you show here. I saw various other TL years report the same thing, and their Navi got stuck by the same increments. IE: the 1999 TL folks reported many years ago that once their cars hit 15-16 yrs from production date, the bug kicked in.. and THEIR calendars were stuck on Jan 1997. This went on for many years of TL models and seem to kick in after 16 yrs of car life. Mine isn't self correcting like much older models seem to do, a couple months after the bug showed up out of the blue. Hence trying the hack, figured I didn't have anything to lose since it was already starting stupidly. will try again mid summer and see what happens if anything

Only 3 discs will work. A music cd, a music dvd aka DVD-A and the orange navigation disc. So depending on if navi is important, i use my disc player as DVD-A because the quality is pretty fantastic compared to any other type of input available

Patrick. I have a 2019 acura tlx aspec. The whole interior is red as in the accent lights, guages, the radio is blue..at one time acura gave you an option to change the color of the infotainment to either blue,red,beige,green. Not anymore. There are so many people that I know that want to turn the bottom screen red like they used to be able to in the past. Especially with the all red interior lighting of the aspec..can you help? Or know anyone who can?

I have a '06 TL Auto Base Navi and I started having issues with the display going in and out shortly after a few battery changes. I actually went thru like three batteries. Then I found the solution on Google by unplugging my bad HFL device. After each replacement the display worked fined but once in a while it would black out. That happened for about 6 months then one day it went out and hasn't been on since. I have read multiple threads about sending the DVD Drive to Alpine for repair but I am trying to figure out a way to fix it myself. Just wondering if you had ever heard of this issue and if you know of a fix?

I have a question, my DVD Navigation ROM was missing when i bought my 2004 Acura TL. My radio worked but never did my Navigation screen turn on. I replaced the radio with the Navigation screen with a used 2006 model and it sill didn't turn on. I am guessing the screen will turn on if the DVD ROM is in the trunk connected. Is their was to by pass this without having the DVD ROM/Drive and just run the screen to work with the radio?
I doubt it. My DVD gradually started giving me problem, the colder it got in winter the less it would boot up. Eventually even in summer it doesnt work. So i fugured out regardless of if the car is reset and needs unlock code, I cna put in the hack dvd and eject it once loading is done and it still works. But the screen doesnt just server the gps function. Radio stations, equalizer, calculator, calendar, they should work because they are hard coded on a chip in the unit and not the dvd or player
does this work with tsx as well? i have an 05, but my screen and navi is inop right now. it just shows the screen: 'please check your disc' im wondering if this hack can remove the nav screen and send me straight to the climate controls? that's all i really need access to.
Enjoy! This modded disc is the only thing preventing me from ripping the navi system out and replacing by some aftermarket system and it is wasnt for the fact that replacing this would kill many features like steering controls and climate control i would have already done it. Without this, my system would just reboot every 2 minutes as soon as the weather would drop a few degrees below normal summer temperature. My disc drive is weak and doest work 3/4 of the year, but this allows me to bypass the loading of maps and interact with the rest of the system without any cd in the drive
I just bought a 2006 TL and I friggin love it. It didn't come with a nav disk and shows "Please check disk" but everything else works. I just bought a nav disk (orange lol) so I definitely want to tinker. 8) Thanks for sharing!

I have a 2005, had it for 5 years, people ask me why i didnt buy a new car back then for the price I paid, the only thing I can tell them is "here are the keys, i'll pick it back up in a week, by then you'll understand". If you expected a fix with about as much detail as going to the doctor with "it hurts, what is wrong with me?" doubt you'd get anything helpful. Kidding but seriously, details are the key. Why was battery unplugged, how much time, is there any signal, what troubleshooting steps have you already done is any at all....
+Patrick Polish the battery was unplugged because since I got into a fender bender someone hit me from behind, at the body shop guessing they unplugged the battery. After I got my car back.. All it says on the screen is please wait reading cd then please check your cd..
+Mariela Lopez it seems like the rear end part is critical since it cant read the cd and the cd drive is on the passenger side in the trunk. If the insurance company handled your claim you should call them and ask them to pay for it as those units can be expensive

What is the difference? What makes it worth all of that? Does it only do the Trip Computer, splash mod, and AC controls?? Thats a lot of work if so.

Reggie Gibbs I have. I fixed the drive myself. It's not too hard but you just have to make sure to be comfortable with small repairs.

No, this will only work on the orange 3.x disc
