    My grandson was bashed in his head and murdered, and the murderer was caught and went to trial and at the trial my son forgave him. My son is a Christian of unusual empathy and he said to me the truth and reason. He could not allow the hate to rule his life, Dr. Lennox is awesome!

    I always love hearing John Lennox speak. He has such an intricate, yet down-to-earth style that is appealing to many types of people in his audience, and he is brilliant. His words struck home even more than usual during this talk by mentioning that children could one day grow up to reject parents. I am living this tragedy and pray every moment for a miracle for reconciliation.

    I admire Lennox for being so open about a challenging (and often personal) topic, and even more so for encouraging people to explore worldviews that counter what he has just said. Fundamentalism of any kind - whether religious fundamentalism, militant atheism or scientism - stifles debate and hinders understanding. Regardless of the worldview being supported, we need more of the type of modest and logical discourse that Lennox offers.

    • @mariandanila9126
      @mariandanila9126 Год назад

      It's the same God. The Jewish people are, for a short time, relax but in the darkness.
      In the mean time, God works out between nations who really realise that they need a new view of this world and the eternal life.
      For more than 2000 years, Israel is on the age. God put them to sleep.
      But soon He will start to shake them as a nation again.
      Until then, the nations should repent and return to God with all our hearts.
      This is the nations time to accept the love God for each one of us. Personal.
      John 3 :16 - His love is for me and you. To not perish but to receive the eternal life in Jesus Christ.
      Same way for all nations to accept Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord. But for Israel, God prepared another plan.
      He had something to do with them.

    The supposed savior of souls of Christians, was just the most "recent" savior-myth story. Example as follows, from the book, and please note how Chrishna was spelled, before the Christians came up with the word Christ, and how the Hindus then changed the spelling of their supposed savior to "Krishna."
    The World’s Sixteen Crucified Saviors … Christianity before Christ, by Kersey Graves … first published in 1875.
    and finally these twenty Jesus Christs (accepting their character for the name) laid the foundation for the salvation of the world, and ascended back to heaven.

    33. Ision and Quirinus of Rome.
    34. Prometheus of Caucasus.
    35. Mohammud, or Mahomet, of Arabia.
    These have all received divine honors, have nearly all been worshiped as Gods, or sons of Gods; were mostly incarnated as Christs, Saviors, Messiahs, or Mediators; not a few of them were reputedly born of virgins; some of them filling a character almost identical with that ascribed by the Christian’s bible to Jesus Christ; many of them like him, are reported crucified; and all of them, taken together, furnish a prototype and parallel for nearly every important incident and wonder-inciting miracle, doctrine and precept recorded in the New Testament, of the Christian’s Savior. Surely, with so many Saviors the world cannot, or should not, be lost.

      Atam: Even most atheist Bible scholars acknowledge that the Bible's Gospel accounts are historic, even if they do not believe in Jesus's Deity. There are also several ancient texts outside of the Bible to explain Christ and what His disciples and followers believed to be true about Him from the beginning. The Christian church was established and evolved after its founder died. They believed that He rose again, and that He appeared with--and indeed hung out with--many people after He was crucified.

    • @donblosser8720
      @donblosser8720 Год назад

      Yours is a childish straw man argument Atam. There are many evidences of the truthfulness of the Holy Bible. One is fulfilled prophesy. Another is the fact that all but one of the 12 Apostles died as a martyr when denying the resurrection of Christ would have bought their release. The 12th, John, died in exile. No one will die defending what they know to be untrue. The authors of the New Testament were eyewitnesses of the risen Christ. Unless you repent of unbelief, you will be held accountable on the day of judgement for ignoring their witness and the witness of God's glorious creation.

      Shona McCarthy When you get a chance, read your bible yourself and actually think about. Don't let anyone especially a religious person to translate it for you. But, remember, reading is not enough and you have to think about what you read.
      The bible says treat others the way you want them to treat you. The bible also sanctions buying and beating slaves. This hypocrisy reveal that man made up the bible without any moral divine intervention. You should be ashamed of yourself for praising a God who orders the slaughter of even one infant in any context.
      Leviticus 25:44
      Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves.
      Leviticus 25:44-46
      However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your
      relatives, must never be treated this way.
      Exodus 21:7
      If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as male servants do.
      1 Timothy 2:12
      I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.
      Luke 12:47
      The servant who knows the master's will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows.
      Deuteronomy 22:20-21
      If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the young woman’s virginity can be found, she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done an outrageous thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you.
      Deuteronomy 21:18-21
      If any man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or his mother, and when they chastise him, he will not even listen to them, then his father and mother shall seize him, and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gateway of his home town. And they shall say to the elders of his city, "This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey us, he is a glutton and a drunkard." Then all the men of his city shall stone him to death; so you shall remove the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear of it and fear.
      1 Samuel 15:3
      3 Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.

    • @ShonaMcCarthy
      @ShonaMcCarthy 9 лет назад +1

      atam mardes I've done both over and over and over again, and I intend to do it many times more before I die. The Bible doesn't sanction slavery. It simply acknowledges that it happens.
      We think we're doing better today because we don't see slavery happening, but because we've made it illegal it's impossible to regulate, and now there are more slaves than ever before.
      So the Bible contains laws about slavery in a bid to make it more humane than it was. Making something against the law won't stop someone from doing something.

    • @AtamMardes
      @AtamMardes 9 лет назад

      Shona McCarthy Reading is not enough. You have to actually think about what you read instead of letting others interpret or justify it for you. If you have thought about it on your own, then tell me please, what rationality and logic led you to form an opinion that teaching people how to buy slaves, how to beat slaves, how to pass slaves on to children, how to sell daughters, how to kill unruly children, how to kill non-virgin brides, and how to slaughter an entire nation including their innocent little infants and animals, make it more human? Please tell me, thanks.
