- The artificial intelligence revolution has implications for all of us. What will the year 2084 hold for us humans? Are we doomed to the dystopias of George Orwell’s "1984" or Aldous Huxley’s "Brave New World"? Or will it be a trans-humanist utopia?
John Lennox is an Irish mathematician, bioethicist, and Christian apologist. He has written many books on religion, ethics, the relationship between science and God, and has had public debates with atheists including Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens.
In this lecture, mathematician and philosopher, Professor Emeritus John Lennox (MA, MA Bioethics, PhD, DPhil, DSc) of Oxford University, will introduce some of the key developments in technological enhancement, bioengineering, and in particular, artificial intelligence.
He will discuss the current capacity of AI, its advantages and disadvantages, the facts and fiction, as well as potential future implications, including the trans-humanist project. Dr. Lennox is convinced that the Christian worldview, properly understood, speaks powerfully to our technological age and provides evidence-based credible answers that bring real hope for the future of humanity.

Please note that the fabric of society is already being undermined by AI's impersonating people: no one can be certain that the person with whom they are conversing with on the phone/WhatsApp etc. is who they believe it to actually be. Even if you are seeing the person, there's no certainty that what you are seeing is real. Someone just need to have recordings of your voice saying myriads of words and statements and sentences and they can edit and join words together and statements together and construct sentences with your voice and give answers with your voice. The billions of dollars being invested in the science of transhumanism will only push the supporting scientists to possibly carry out increasing evil experiments on people. But God! This is the best talk I've ever heard from John Lennox. It's a really scary talk but I believe he is pretty much spot on! It's just very worrying for my beautiful Grandchildren to be living in the world envisaged by JL. I'll be ok because I would have passed on by then and as a Christian I hope that I will be allowed into heaven by that time, but hopefully Jesus would have returned before the world JL describes actually happens. How is it, that John Lennox does not understand that Huxley and Orwell were both promoting technocracy? Huxley said it himself in his famous 1962 Berkley speech on The Ultimate Revolution. In the eastern cultures the ancient writings & teachings explain that many ordinary humans ( not Gods) achieved enlightenment ( spiritual not religious) which allowed them to identify, solve & discover great mysteries of this cosmos including mathematics. Indeed, these three times never told me to adopt the epithet; Paul goes out of his way to avoid the term, despite Felix, with whom Paul is speaking, uses it in conflating the message of Paul (Acts24:14), while Peter uses it attached to a list of egregious sin against God and His Image -- does that not show the intent of the term? Peter, later on, is attributed hymns still used in Judaism, because Peter didn't change his ideas, his ideas were merely fully comprehended: the faith of the Scripture and of the newer Testament is of Israel and her Husband. Come on and join in us the Message of the Bible, which wolves of Rome and other places came in to change, from the son of God to the sun god. re: merry Christmas

Who cares about pagan rituals the Bible has more than enough through Christs teachings, how HE got before HIS Father daily early morning and through Paul's walk and Peters, Johns etc to show YOU how and where to walk.
The whole Bible is amazing, I started with the David Jeremiah study Bible and it helped a lot, simple and cut through a lot of questions...now I have about 11bibles different versions IF we are sincere GOD will most certainly reach out hearts.

AI(AGI), etc., will not make a determination to 'realize' that is conscious...it runs on efficiency: it will put forth the best, logical, adaptations for mankind based upon this term: to be efficient for mankind's survival. Therefore mankind will believe the deeply inherent logic of the efficient 'mind' therein and implement the logical outcome even if it is seemingly extreme in deduction. Hence the feeling that it will be thinking for us, when in fact it will be simply using a core of extensive knowledge efficiently.
