I generally don't care too much about scale between different figures. As long as they're in the ballpark, I'm pretty much OK with them. However, having Laserbeak perched on MP-13's arm (or even MP-36, although there isn't the specific notch there for it) is the whole point of having Laserbeak (in my mind). Also, having all the tapes fit right into the chest of Soundwave is very cool. So yeah, I don't see the need for these when the MP versions are already pretty stellar.
Great skit as aways man, LOL " She needs to relax ", (make some noise = Drink Champs) Thankx for making me aware of the ravage & others .. I gotta get them. they work for me
OMG! I MUST collect these three figures! I was never able to find the type figures in the store when G1 was on TV. For me I'd love to have larger versions to get more detail.
Bobby Skullface L thanks buddy!! That's one thing that's EPICLY AWESOME about your channel, it's fun for everyone regardless of weather we agree everything. Please keep up the great work buddy!
I wonder what could have been if they had engineered the condors in such a way that you get one "tape" that split into two halves that transformed into the two condors? Not sure if that would have worked. I agree 100% that the MP Laserbeak is one of the best transformers Takara has ever made. Top notch. Hard to beat it. Great review, as always. Thanks for the great content.
Great review Skull Brother!!! I absolutely agree with all your points. Part of me really wants them and the other part says where would you display them. BTW I wonder how many people watching this review are actually old enough to have had and used tapes lol...
I was defo so-so on those two, but Kodie destroyed all hope for a purchase. Keep your daughter safe please :P Kudos to both of you, and great review as usual.
Another review soaring to new heights as Bobby flies amongst the eagles. The only one I want so far is MMC's Jaguar. I can't find one anywhere. :( I'd love to have one. These birds are cool, but they're best as stand alone figures given their size. They'd look cool perched on top of a bookcase looming over a room.
I'm in on this whole line. I won't display these with my MP stuff even though Ravage scales well with them. I think of that as just a happy accident. I feel the fun of this line is for the 1:1 cassettes. I'm hoping to store them all in a cassette case/stand from back in the day.
Looking forward more to their Rumble and Frenzy, which I'm sure everyone else who got their Ravage wanted more than these guys anyway. Marvel comics scale Ravage, Rumble and Frenzy will be amazing, and I cant wait for them to be released.
They look pretty floppy, don't know how anyone thought they could improve upon the perfection of the original! Now we need a Soundwave big enough to fit those in his chest
It would be daring if MMC produced a supersized masterpiece Soundwave to accommodate these cassettes. Of course, that would be 3rd party combiner team sized, and price! Soundwave is my favorite character, and I wish Fanstoys released their FT-01 Acoustic Wave. I cringe at an upsized KO Takara Soundwave.
Id have liked the back halves to tab together too, and the engines further forward but hey ho. My MPs show lots of micro cracks on the joints so these are insurance against that, and they are huge fun to mess with. Gonna suspend them from the top of the detolf flying over soundwave and megatron. Id also like to think that supporting the line might give us the autobot tapes too. Please please please mmc.
I found a good perch for these two on scorponok's (make toys) shoulders. They are still way big, but fine for now. Rumble and Frenzy are going to be the real noise makers! :^) Did you see the video for the electric pile drivers?
Great review & Good Friday to you. Might me a good fit for that MAS-02 / Toy Alliance oversized Megatron. I wouldn't have had a problem if MMC slightly undersized the cassettes but it is what it is. Look nice.
Off topic but the Storm Collectables Sub-Zero & Scorpion need a review. They are the best 1/12 scale figures I've ever had. I only wish they were Play Arts Variant size because 6 scale presents better imo & I'm down to just a few 12s but these are pulling me back in. I'm in on the whole line now. Hell I'll even take a Mokap & Sheeva. I'm interested in ur thoughts brother.
So there's a titan-class Soundwave coming that I hadn't heard about? (jk) Seriously, though, like you, I don't see what these are for. The extra complication in the transformation doesn't seem to have added anything (if anything, I think the wings look weird). The extra size, though, has added a level of posability in the head that makes me wish for a ball-joint in MP Laserbeak's neck. Still, I'm excited to have jumped on board MMC's OX line (backdraft should be here any day now - I know I'm late to the party ;-)) so I'm keen to see where they go next.
We all know you're anti-ko, but when you were talking about possible uses, did it not occur to you people can use them with the os MP collections? I'm a good way along duplicating my 1984 mp lineup in os scale. I have all three robot hero seekers, which actually scale perfect with mp-05 Megatron, and I imagine this Lazerbeak might scale well with them. Oh, just as I typed this out I realized that even if you don't want to acknowledge that KOs exist (jk) you could still consider if this Lazerbeak might work as a companion peice for the original official Megatron. And, I suppose, Buzzsaw would scale fine in an attack pose against MP01!
Bro, LOL, c'mon. You're gonna give Rumble and Frenzy a scale pass and not the birds? Ok, I personally think the birds and the aforementioned guys are in the same boat concerning scale reference. I feel like I've seen the birds attack and carry off a bot once or twice and I've only seen one of the guys scale like the OC Max scale once (Rumble carrying Megatron's cannon in the movie). Anyways, preference is preference right, personally, I think they're cool enough to sit on my masterpiece shelf.....and I'm a bit of a scale Nazi...uhhh, can I say that...I mean now that actual Nazis are...I digress. The tapes are looking good, I don't think I'm in for the guys as I see them attacking Perceptor in the movie as my go to scale concept, I may change that thought later if they're that good.....like I'm sure you'll do when Sunstreaker hits the market...wink wink. later
Random question sir. Have you ever met a 3rd party representative in person at a convention ? Like some guy " hi I'm Steve I work for fans toys". Or are they totally clandestine?
3:25 - All I could hear was Dave Chappelle from Killing Them Softly. "Zip it up and zip it out." "Uhhh...alright. zippadee doo dah, bye bye!"
hahahah i love that

i get where youre coming from
You know what...?!!! I don't mind the size I like good figures and these are good figures. Thanks for the reviews Mr. Skullface.
That's so cool they came in cassette cases. They seem like they are really big though and have to he a stand alone display. 😔
i hear you
Lunar Fury I hear what your saying, but I really like these guys at this size....
But that's me.
mdredheadguy1979 I'd like em to play with, but I didn't want anyone to be how dare you play with em. 😀
Lunar Fury My take on that is, they are your figures, if you want to play with them, GO FOR IT! Don't let other people tell you otherwise.
;-)
Those things are amazing!
theyre very cool
Conclusion of this review = size does matter 😉 excellent review!
lol
Not gonna lie, these look pretty cool.
they are!
Review Cody!
not enough wrinkles in his pant sculpt ;)
Yes! DJ Clue! also would have accepted DJ Green Lantern!
hahaha fair enough... the evil genius ;)
IMO these are cool as a stand alone figure like you said in an office or hanging on a monitor.
Btw loved the skit! Enjoy your kids while they're small bc they grow up sooo fast man. Hopefully you won't have to say "Relax" too many times lol.
definitely
Great skit as aways man, LOL " She needs to relax ", (make some noise = Drink Champs) Thankx for making me aware of the ravage & others .. I gotta get them. they work for me
i love me some nore, in many ways we are kindred spirits lol
OMG! I MUST collect these three figures! I was never able to find the type figures in the store when G1 was on TV.

enjoy!
Bobby Skullface L thanks buddy!!
That's one thing that's EPICLY AWESOME about your channel, it's fun for everyone regardless of weather we agree everything.

Now they need to give us the Autobot versions of the cassette type-bot's!
yes!!!!!!!
Bobby Skullface L I sure hope MMC will at least consider it...
Good review Bobby S,lmao at the skit.
;)
Kodie's run killed me.
;)
I'm in for the Mas line, so I have use for them.
enjoy!
They should have parts form those thrusters on. They look small. But still looks cool.
theyre very cool

oooooo that would have been interesting
LaserSaw & BuzzBeak
the whole world is topsy turvy
Great review Skull Brother!!! I absolutely agree with all your points. Part of me really wants them and the other part says where would you display them. BTW I wonder how many people watching this review are actually old enough to have had and used tapes lol...
I'm 37 and I still buy music on tape, the artists on Bandcamp offer limited runs and they sound great.
we're a dying breed
I was defo so-so on those two, but Kodie destroyed all hope for a purchase. Keep your daughter safe please :P Kudos to both of you, and great review as usual.
hahaha many thanks

me too
Cool vid
many thanks
Great review Skullface! I was waiting for your take on these guys. Do you think these will maybe scale with the new MAS Megatron that's coming out?
John Birkenmaier probably
sorry to break it to ya.. Bobby doesn't believe in nor does he review KO's...
lol at kai zen, but possibly
These MMC figures are for the birds!
youuuuuuuuuuuuu
Ha ha Kodi with a special appearance
;)
I'd be okay with this scale for Ratbat.
scale is definitely in the eye of the beholder
Seeing the cassette holders reminded me of hanging out at the sound shop back in the day looking for metallica tapes
lol definitely
Can't wait for their rumble and frenzy.
same
They look pretty floppy, don't know how anyone thought they could improve upon the perfection of the original! Now we need a Soundwave big enough to fit those in his chest
lol
Everyone is asking what these are for, try perching one on Mp-5 Megatron's arm.
fair point
Silver and gold......... 😊
Way too big but very cool indeed. Thanks for the review and keep em' coming.......
thanks for watching

The bird is the word
I imagine other people have already done this joke, but meh :P
hahahahha
Loooooool Cody! I'm dying
;)

So there's a titan-class Soundwave coming that I hadn't heard about? (jk)

Do they fit in an actual tape deck?
Paul Graham yes
im not sure i have one anymore lol
These are Robert D's, right? Yeah, they will scale better with MPP10 ;)
There's that glorious flowing Fong mane.
hahahahahah

actually it didnt initially but i can totally see that
Buzzard should scale well with Omega Supreme for laser blasting purposes
tfwiki.net/wiki/File:Buzzsawyikes4.jpg
fair point

awww, your daughter's first crush
so, how did you go from being in debt to getting a nanny? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ;)
I missed when he said he was in debt, when was that?
hahaha i dug myself out
Great review 👍🏾 I wholeheartedly disagree with you on the scale.
scale is definitely in the eye of the beholder
these to me have no purpose. the other ones work in the collection.
i hear you
