    Twice this video has saves my behind. Im not sure what i keep doing but when reassembling, tge barrel tilts down and locks up. I have to punch out all the pins and disassemble the slide. Ive built ar-15s piece by piece but this is what gives me trouble. Cant explain it. Thank you for your video

    Most excellent demonstration. You paced your video with excellent photography so that one could understand completely. I took your information a few steps further and removed the trigger assembly and fire control group. Just a careful polish of the trigger bar, striker and "sear" interfaces and clean up of the factory "left overs" and the trigger is markedly improved...yes, a long take-up but much smoother and a lighter/crisper let off and a great reset. My many thanks.

    That extractor will come out if you pull it through. Mine came out with no trouble it really just fell out. But this video is awesome, it really helped me take mine down for cleaning. Thanks!! 👍🏻

      I tpp discovered that that extractor will fall out easily when I spray non-chlorinated brake cleaner in the hole. I held the slide over a trash can. Luckily there was only a few sheets of paper in the trash can so I could easily see it rather than need to dig through a bunch of trash. One just needs to pivot the extractor back and forth and gently pull it out.

    Definitely going to put this video in the basket for later use! I love that little gun! The best .22lr pistol I've ever had, probably have around 2k rounds through it and not any issues whatsoever with exception of a particular round that mine doesn't like, Remington HP with the funky shaped bullet, thanks for the info!

It is an awesome little gun, I hope they come out with a long barrel model too. Thanks for the disassembly video, it sure helps.

    I learned how to do this in 2 days after I bought the tx22. Very straight forward pistol to take apart, however the first time it might be a little difficult. It’s way easier after just two range trips. I recommend to clean it very good before you shoot it for the first time, and it does take around 100 rounds+ to break it in and it’s still changing. The trigger feel is way better.

    Very informative video, brother. I've got mine ordered. I pick it up Thursday!!!! Can't wait!!!! It looks like if a person started having light primer strikes, you could take a touch of material off of the forward end of the striker block, allowing more travel, for it to strike the rim a little deeper. Just a thought... Of course, too much protrusion, would allow it to strike the metal. So, no more dry firing. Wow. This gun is a GREAT design. Impressive.

    How was the rifling in the bore? I've read that some barrels have rough bores that cause lots of leading. When informed, Taurus has replaced those poorly machined barrels with hopefully correctly machined barrels. Every owner of a TX22 should check for the damaged bores.

      My extractor flew into a trash can when I spayed cleaner into the hole. Luckily I could see in in the bottom of the trash bag. One only needs to pivot the extractor back and forth and gently pull it out. It may fall out if there is not a lot of dirty oil or grease holding it in. I likely over lubed my firearm a few times which can capture soot.

    • @raykettel1837
      @raykettel1837 Год назад +1

      Luckily I only used non-chlorinate brake cleaner to clean out the hole where the extractor is located and lucky I held the slide over a trash can with a bag with nothing more than a few sheets of paper in it. If I used an air compressor outside I likely would not have been able to find the extractor. There really needs to be a sticky posting at the top to warn others about how the extractor can fall out after it is pivoted into the right position.

    My slide would not break loose, even with the takedown lever lowered. Others have complained of the same problem with new pistols. If you've followed all the other steps and the slide won't budge, give it a good whack from the rear to the front, while holding the takedown lever down. That should get the slide loose and then you can proceed as normal.

    I own a TX22. I love it. The most reliable 22lr pistol I have ever owned. But something disturbs me: At 5:10 in, it shows that the plastic housing stop prevents the striker from ruining the barrel. I don't think that is a good design because as the plastic piece wears, it will allow the striker to hit the side of the chamber.

      Buy a stainless guide rod assembly from lakeline accessories.
      not only functions better but it will protect your gun by replacing the polymer junk guiderod from chewing up the aluminum slide by adding the lake line

    • @patrickrobinson2520
      @patrickrobinson2520 2 года назад +1

      @Alan Simon I talked to Al from lakeline about the nylon bushing in the front of the newer ones that are painted black as opposed to the one that I got that was the first generation it doesn't have the nylon washer on it but whether you know this or not he added that as an extra precaution for people that are having problems with the aluminum slide breaking right there at those two corners at the top of your slide where the guide rod goes through. now the most important part of the whole setup as Al told me is to make sure that you put that guide rod spring at 12:00 as you would look at the face of a clock as you were looking down the barrel and that puts the spring in the strongest part of the top of the slide where the most pressure is exerted. to be honest there's not that much difference between the two, the nylon washer is just a way to for better lack of words calm people's worries about the slide breaking in the front. And in Al's opinion those that choose to shoot really hot ammunition through there pistol. The standard velocity ammunition will cycle and do less damage to your tx22 in my opinion. The actual chewing up of the slide is not related to the bushing at all it has to do with the angles of which they grind the spring ,and if put in position to where it is top dead center it won't grind up the slide of your gun. I hope a little bit of that made sense.

That could not have been said, two years ago...Hickok45 had some type of failure on every magazine, with the Ruger 9mm carbine, and the Ruger 556 wouldn't even function good enough to do a video with it. He said that himself. Of course, he made excuses for both firearms. I won't make excuses for sending JUNK out the door, for consumers to waste their hard earned money on.
