Olivia, your a fantastic young lady. You've learned so many things from your parents. Things that you can't learn at school or from text 📚 books. Vertures of caring, kindness, gentleness, love and faith. Your a very special young lady. The mini image of your mom, and the determination of both your parents. Delicious meal, that I can smell across the internet. What a wonderful Birthday 🎁 gift for your mom. THE GIFT OF TRUE 💘 LOVE.
Have you thought about maybe building a work bench in the greenhouse to hold you seeds trays or hand tools or bags of fertilizers and putting a tall bin on the end to stand your long handled tools in when not in use?!?! Also look up "Birdies" metal raised beds from Australia now available in America! When it is time to rebuild your wooden raised beds, maybe look into replacing them with permanent galvanized, metal ones. "Self Sufficient Me" from Australia uses them and others for a long time! Everyone always asked where to get them and until now were only available in Australia! Might be something you might be interested in! You like quality, long lasting products and these are! Belgian waffles looked great! I'm sure they were delicious! Good job Olivia! God bless you all!
Good morning Luminah family. It made me beyond happy to watch Olivia cooking dinner. It has been a blessing to watch her grow up and bloom. You done a amazing job. It is also great to see you all gardening more. Just need to work on not wasting so much. Have a blessed day.
What a great daughter!!! Watching her grow is so much fun. And I gotta say, having Gina a full time part of the channel...what a blessing! It was good when it was mostly you Al, the proof is that so many were with you before she came on full time, but having her here now, working the homestead...well, it made the channel POP!!😁 she’s got a natural gift for filming!! Hope her birthday was awesome!
Totally agree! I love it when Gina reminds Al when he's talking about re-doing the raised beds and reminds him that they discussed it earlier this year. 7:35 Nice to have the back-and-forth.
all of a sudden, little Olivia has turned into little big Olivia, so grown up, sure of herself and nice too!!! Loved this video... and hello from not so cold yet France.
Olivia did a fantastic job on the waffles! I made them for our men’s breakfast on Sunday morning at our church for years before COVID 19 showed up. Replace some of the floor with corn starch and the waffles will be lighter and crisper. I will post the recipe if you would like it. Happy birthday Gina!🎉
When you do get around to rebuilding those raised beds, make the aisles wide enough so the Kubota will fit. That will make adding compost or other materials a lot easier. And Happy Birthday Gina.
I have to say she is just like her mom. Men you have done a great job all the way around . God bless you and your family. And thank you for sharing with us. Again your little lady is awesome. My daughter is now 22 and this bought back so many memories.
First..HAPPY BIRTHDAY GINA. Second..Your videos are the first thing I watch in the mornings, followed by coffee. I look forward to seeing what you all are up to. This gets me ready to see what the rest of the world is up to. I am a 64 year old retiree that knows nothing about farming, homesteading, etc. What I do know I have learned from your videos. Boy have I missed a lot!! Don't ever feel that your videos are in vain...THEIR NOT!! Please keep them coming and God Bless your family.
Happy Birthday Gina and best wishes for a wonderful year. Your waffles looked great Olivia, nice break for Mom on her birthday too. Y'all have a Blessed day.
When you are rebuilding your planter beds, consider making them a little wider than the bucket on the Kubota. That will make it easier to dump compost.
how cool! Gina working alongside, and Olivia honoring her mom by making supper. Olivia is growing so fast. She is so pretty just like her mom. It was good to see her this time. you are building such a great family and family traditions together. well done!
To quell my curiosity, would it be possible to show the relative temperatures inside vs outside the greenhouse through a couple of days? Show us how much heat it attracts and retains through the day and into the night? Maybe now, vs mid winter, vs the depths of winter??
Happy Birthday Gina, I hope you had a great day after you finished with your chores. Nice to see Olivia learning in the kitchen with Al. Thank you all for allowing us to come along on your journey. God bless
For an easy and large harvest, garlic grower Robin Jarry of Hope, Maine, suggests using heavily mulched raised beds, especially in heavy soil. “I plant in raised beds for good drainage, and then mulch with about six inches of old hay after the ground freezes.
Agree. when cement is available why not use it , especially for lower portion? ppl used to use wood when cement was not available like 100 years or earlier.
It never fails to amaze all the kitchen utensils that Gina has. There is no procedure where the right utensil can't be found. This quantifies as a professional kitchen.
Hope Gina had a good birthday! My jaws are sore from smiling so much watching Olivia cook. As a father its been neat seeing her grow up and sad at the same time. She has turned into quite the chef!
Hey Al...I've never known anyone who chose WHITE as their favorite Color, but I see it must be Figaro's favorite, as he never wears any other color but White Socks!🐈
I thought garlic grew from a string hung on the wall into a wire basket. Actually no but I did not know how it really was grown. The things I learn from your videos. Amazing. See you tomorow teach. Love all of you.
Olivia has got the folding technique down to a fine art. Good job. Happy belated birthday to Gina. I hope you get good results from all the garlic varieties. I always love planting garlic, simply because it defies expectations of planting in the spring for produce. Somehow it makes the winter less daunting for me. 🤷♀️ Stay safe, everyone.
You guys are doing a great job teaching Olivia something rather than punching buttons on a computer or smart phone. It is most important to know how to cook for both boys and girls. Also the responsibility of animals and chores. Great job.
Way to go Olivia! We can certainly see how many great techniques you have learned. Thank your mom and pat yourself on the back for being such a great student!
Figaro! Ha! Maybe he likes pickles too?! Funny cat! Why wouldn’t you just use garlic cloves from the grocery store? What’s the advantage of ordering seed bulbs? Loved the video! ❤️👍
Yes, our two male goats eat nothing but leaves when they start falling. We can tell where we put them by the lack of leaves in a circle in the yard. They like the Maple tree leaves the most! We chain them to their tie outs and the chain kind of gathers the leaves and then they eat them up! It is fun to watch.
I love growing garlic (since 1993) We tried a fun technique where we face the bulbs in the same direction. It causes the plants with their fan shape to grow in the same direction, giving them maximum light exposure. It makes it easier to see the scapes and also to harvest.
We plant our garlic here in Texas in September and will harvest in May. We are putting in cover crops in our raised bed in which we will plant potatoes in February. The cover crop seed were purchased from Sow True Seed in NC due to the fact that they have a blend for raised beds as well as small amounts of amendments that are just right for our 6 raised beds. Joy Giles
Happy belated birthday, Gina! Boy, Olivia really is getting competent in the kitchen, and it's plain to see she plans on taking over! She will likely let you do dishes, though! :)
Great Video it was very cool seeing you and your daughter working together it brought back memories of my daughter and I doing things. She's an adult now and lives in Nashville and I miss our time together. We planted Garlic as well this year we doubled our planting from last year. We dehydrated ours and use it in meals preparation.
Al you have it blessed your wife Gina would rather be out in the garden getting her hands dirty on her birthday then out getting her nails done. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GINA.
If I remember correctly the first time I saw Olivia in the Kitchen with her mom, she needed a step to get up to the counter. She's growing so fast. I love to see her confidence. Proof of good parenting.
I've never heard of goats being leaf rakes, but why not? If the critters could be trusted to stay local, they'd do fast work of the leaves on the lawn and the drive for sure!
Sam Val or they have enough electric fence since the pigs and meat birds aren't needing to be fenced in in freezer camp! They could guide the girls to new grazing ! Leaves turned to compost by Goat !
Monana, try Amazon. if they ship to your part of Sweden it is a lot cheaper than buying local. and im talking about buying the Avocado oil, not the Avocados themselves.

Al if you need elephant garlic let me know. I usually grow 1000 which yields about 3/4000 cloves. I just love it roasted and smeared on a warm French baguette.
My goodness. That's a lot of garlic. Do you have werewolves or other creatures your trying to keep away? Ha, Ha, Ha That's also a concern for bad breath. I hope you sell them, and don't feel the need to keep them all. Chuckle. I only use garlic power once or twice a week. LOL.
Bet the goats would love to clean up all your leaves! That would be fun to watch! Though how many would you let out at once so the mayhem would be controllable? Lol
Having just had some asparagus for dinner I remembered how fond your family enjoys it. How about growing some next season? It takes at least two years to produce the first crop but then it just keeps producing.
Man-oh-man... you've got an impressive little cook there in Olivia. Such poise!! Congratulations on raising such an self-assured girl! Bright future, Olivia.
Happy Birthday Gina! Great job Olivia. Make sure you amend over them as soon as you see shoots in the spring with bone meal. It will promote bulbing. Also, cutnoff scapes and freeze them chopped for cooking. If you leave them on, the energy for bulbing will be robbed and you wont get big garlic.
Forgot to tell Gina HAPPY BITHDAY yesterday. Hope she had a wonderful day. So love your gardens and all the animals. Looks like the beginning of a great kitchen garden.
Tim from Canada suggestion if you wanted to break them all up into a pile your leaves and then put them on a tarp put a tarp in the leaves all inside your tractor bucket dump them inside your coat pan if you’re going to clean up leaves anyway pick them all up dump them inside your goat penn or do half-and-half don’t have them in the goat pen and have them in the manure pile.
Happy birthday Gina . Al we have the same growing zone you have but we plant our garlic late September and it is the opposite of what you did 6 inches deep with 2 inches apart plus covered with leaves and than straw. Funny what a different place will do. Have a great day
Happy Birthday, Gina, I hope it was full of blessings for you. Olivia, you are becoming quite good in the kitchen, look forward to seeing you do more cooking in the future. Al, enjoy listening to you share your knowledge. Some times I wish the family members we had were still around to share theirs. I think that they would have liked to have been able to sit down & chat with you. Hope this week brings you all everythingbthat you are hoping for before the weather gets bad for you.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GINA!!!!🎉🎁🛍🎈🎂 Hope you had a wonderful day! When I was a little girl my grandparents would alternate taking one of us kids home after church each Sunday. It was always sooooo special! We would get to go out for Sunday morning breakfast and have Belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, such an AMAZING treat. You where truly blessed with a gift from Miss Olivia's heart!
Those Belgian Waffles looked so good. Every year when I went to The State Fair of Texas, I always got a Fletcher’s Corny Dog (famous at the fair) & a Belgian Waffle with strawberries, whipped cream & powdered sugar. Sooo good! Thanks for bringing back those memories. Glad you got your garlic in. I hope you have an awesome harvest. I keep roasted garlic, covered in oil, in a jar in the fridge. It is mild & nutty flavored. You should try it. Blessings, Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸👍❤️🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
How much longer will you milk Willow? She doesn’t look like she’s producing very much milk. Buttercup is a rock star milk producer. Which goats will you breed this fall? Have a great day. Happy Birthday Gina!!!
Happy Birthday Olivia!! My Rhode Island pullets started laying yesterday! I got 2 pullet eggs and 1 double yolker!!!! I had the wood stove cooking for a couple of days, but 80s for next few days, then another cold front. I harvested some lettuce in my little greenhouse, and should harvest beans today. I need to clean out the hoop houses and get them planted. There is some plantain in 2 beds and I have been wanting to make some salve with the plantain.

Happy Birthday Gina❗🎂🎊🎈🎁🍨
Now that your garlic is planted you can give your goats a run for their money on burps next year. 🗣💨💨💨
