Man they were incredible. Them and Alice in Chains had their own unique sounds that were different than the other 90's bands. You would recognize them right away, DOTN was easily one of the 5 best 90's bands.
I love alice but they were heavily influenced by sabbath (not a bad thing). Travis was/is unique to himself. A true visionary.
@@rickchyczewski576 Birds of a Feather....
100%
11 years later, I agree 100%. They were the bridge between a Dave Matthews and heavy rock at the time. Riffs on an acoustic. It was awesome.
Best heavy rock acoustic music I have ever heard. Travis was on the tv show intervention . I was watching then realized it was him Travis
That's one thing I love about Travis... He plays the acoustic so clean
Travis Meeks wrote and composed the music of this song at age 14. No doubt his talent. Thanks Travis !!!!!
For sure, a true enigma.
For all the jackasses who think drugs took travis' talent are idiots. He's bi-polar and has debilitating social anxiety. I know this cause he used to live on and off w/me when he came to town. And like most ppl with mental illness, they turn to drugs. Best memory, he sat in my front passenger seat and played my favorite songs that he's written while I drove him to run errands. It rocked! So did the new shit he played me and that was in 2012-ish? He was trying to clean up then so I'm hoping he made it. Much love Travis!
there's plenty of people here who love and support Travis , be it drugs or mental battles we all hope he can pull through , and hopefully save music because I don't believe Indiana has much hope any more
wayda go bro , just kicking, and keep righting and singing
Lindsay Thorne drugs did ruin his talent, his voice is gone and he always shows up on stage wasted, mental issues are one thing but his substance abuse mad him a shot show to watch
Actually he has Asperger's bro
I saw interviews with him and he was like a stupid little child ... a lot of us have social anxiety, and not all of us turn to drugs ... we chose to fight our demons
It's great seeing a guy so young who cares so much about the music. Shame they fell apart.
I can't stop watching this video. Its so damn good I can't get enough of it. Travis and company at their very best.
I like it, but I think the drummer lacks a bit of the sensibility which should accompany this music. He tends to go too fast instead of pulling it back which is what he should be doing.
Esteban Muirragui coming from a drummer (myself) he is doing fine. He actually is doing great.
DITTO!!!! One of my friends sent this to me... I've been GLUED!!!!!
Take me back! This was my teenage angst! 🤘
@@estebanmuirragui Really??? Come on dude, wtf are you talking about? He's spot on! Put down that pipe.
This is a flawless piece of music history.
I feel the same. I cannot stop watching. I drive my fam nuts!,
What a magical time for music.. I was 25 in 97.. it’s been a wild ride to say the least
I loved growing up with these guys
One of the best voices and talents of the newer generation. Travis, please get your stuff together and don't become another rock cliche!
Too late???
Yeah. Too late.
New fan here this kind of music takes real pain thankful for Travis to even let it out even tho it wasn’t much ik he had so much more instored
Man, that is mesmerizing. Flawless performance
Raw music..I still have the original cd i bought back in the 90s
Wow, really? Cool man, i'm from Mexico and the one i had i lost it ;(
Geo M. Still got my old CD too!
That sucks. RIP Days of the New CD
Original CD of this show? On the page that you are commenting on? Or are you just saying you still have a CD sold to millions?
@@eriklarson9137 original cd of the album.yeah sold to billions billions who cares>? i am not claiming exclusivity
Such an amazing talent.
Travis, get your shit together, let the bygones be bygones, and get Days of the New back together.
FWIW people, Todd Whitener has two records out and they are both excellent. Another true talent!
beautiful Maestro!!!!
Travis will rise again. \m/
tick tock....
Travis had so much to offer the world. It's a shame he wasn't able to get his shit together. He could've given us so much more great music.
Damn this shit sounds good, like studio quality... Travis was and still is a musical genius!
Meeks took and got the most out of an acoustic guitar, more than anyone who's written rock music..
Ya, when Travis was younger, he would use drugs heavily, lock himself in his basement for day's
and then magically come out with hot new music material. I believe it was his dad that said this
about his son, Travis in a documentary I saw some years ago on RUclips, I think.
That’s a Fact. He was a lost Kid and found comfort in playing and became the Maestro! Practicing for hours.
@@bubbylee5648 practicing for hours backed by speed and opiates....I been there....been playing for 20 years...cant do it forever cuz you get old quick and die eventually....
Seeing them tonight in OKC in just a few more hours. I am stoked. I've wanted to see them since the first album.
Always loved this band.
I saw this tour in Providence with Blink-182 and a couple of other bands. Days was sick killer. 45 minutes non-stop. They just segued from one song to the next.
Same year - but this was filmed before the Metallica tour began.
Got to see them at Bogarts in Cincinnati.🎼💯😁
good band ,, travis has got great talent .. hope he's doing good ,, i no what it means to have social anxiety ....
Miss these guys..they were amazing
Met him once. He's a cousin of a buddy of mine that can sing too.
Could you pass along info via your friend. lee mavers of the la's is autistic. He wrote There She Goes but has harder rock. Plus be sure to write this down and have him listen to Endless and All By Myself, Tears In The Rain. Just search youtube. ruclips.net/video/FswF_rTlkrY/видео.html
Its just as cool as so many ppl having met Dax Riggs as well.
What an artist
you make these amazing songs RIGHT.....cuz i luv these guys...
Miss these guys............ :(
I like this one better than the one on the "Vevo" Channel
great man! you're the best thanks for post tis video.
I think that dotn was the best rock band in the second part fo the 90s
This was an awesome concert. I was at this show and a few others and I can't remember if Dinosaur Junior or Black Lab opened for them.
Not many people get a chance to change the world...even for a second..wow..I started listening to them at age 11...lots of days of the new and lots of pot..lol
Travis and Co. just fucking killing it!
Todd was the man!!
One of the most talented dude ever
one of the greatest songs ever written. ever. period. so fucking beautiful. gives me chills down my spine.
so underrated. so talented. dude was touring with Metllica at 16...unfortunately, his ego got him well b 4 the drugs did. sad man...
It is sad, but I think his "ego" Is actually his bipolar disorder and he self medicates
@@kimberlyh463 💯
Travis was only 18/19 then. Amazing!
Angels of the weak. No voice our voice. Beautiful peace of our souls. Thank you Travis.
Unreal
Great band awesome performance!
RIP Rock Candy
Yes these guys were pretty amazing and that record worked!!! If you are looking for the same similar sounds I suggest checking out Godsmacks Accoustic album or check them out in Vegas where they do a whole show!!!
Simply too many great versions live of this
They are even better when you listen to them stoned! ;)
Fucking love this man!!
Lord have mercy!!!
Great song :)
Our color purple. Blue and red. Shells salt moss. Smell. Smile. Love you myem
song starts at 02:21 ;)
nice!!!
Love u man
For Anyone wanting to know the Intro (Not Orch of the Medium) jam before the actual song its called "Around The World" and was written by Todd. Todd Re-Recorded it for the Unreleased Tantric album (Tantric III) it's the Same tune just with lyrics and a chorus added. Shame for what one of my biggest childhood musical masterminds has become. At least Todd and Jesse are still going strong!
Dude, thank you. I have been wanting to know the name of that jam for a couple years now.
like the sound of the harmony on the middle eight
I agree but its too late the run has ended does he still have it in his soul hell yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sooo true me too!!!
I love these guys, what ever happened to them? Are they still together, around?
They broke up and some of the former band mates of Travis went on to form the band Tantric..😉
💪💪💪
The reason this band split was because Travis did not want to be influenced musically through writing or otherwise. That is the main reason why Tantric was formed. I think the original band members could have put out a few more acoustic rock albums. EASILY, at that.
Morph Jim Morrison and James Hatfield together, you get Travis Meeks.
RetroRich with a little hint of staley
I'd say more Layne, or Kurt than James. Still nice comparison tho.
Hmm.... I guess, I see him like a mix of cornell and layne
Not even close to Morrison
@@richardjoslin2260 id I have to agree, love Morrison but at least Meeks can play the guitar
rockin
ass kicking song for an acoustic rock band kick butt
Yes, you can rock with acoustic guitars. I can't afford to smash my guitar though.
4:11 "Supply them their drugs just don't take them away"
he was 18. his birthday is april 27
Look at Travis perform this song in 2008 etc. It should tell you one thing...NEVER do methamphetamines.
@StripMyWorldAway I totally agree, I saw him last year in PA and he looked like he didnt even want to go on. So sad. The whole crowd was ragging on him and booing so I wonder why. People are so lame..... They had no idea who was up on that stage ..
The Todd whitener looks a lot like shannon hoon here i love it.
I was thinking more young Jerry Cantrell
Best fucking version !!! IMO
totally agree, but it's just as much fun to play and sing to lol
sick video... cheers for uploading... fucking intense!
i like the jam before the song.... awesome! (its not a song, is it?)
@cloud9808 obviously
His voice resonates bush, nirvana, pearljam.. yet looks like the late chris cornel..
His voice resonates jim morrison and himself. Meeks looks absolutely nothing like Cornell.
@@callofthewintermoon91 cool bro. To each their own aye. 😉👍
rotaryrebel do you believe that is possible to join the former members of the band?
Is this show on DVD and where can i find it? Ki davhard to find :/
2:20 !
What brand of acoustic guitar is Travis using in this concert and on the yellow album?
looks like a Takamine, not sure about the album though
Tacomas and Takamie. Since about 1999 2000 he has strictly only used custom Taylor guitars. He has several different models.
Takamine
So I goin down after this... womens freedom
Can someone please tell me if the intro is a song, or just an intro jam. Cause if its a full song I really, really want to hear it.
ryan401 Seriously? You never heard of google?
No, never heard of it. What's Google? I couldn't find it dude, or else I wouldn't have commented with that question. I figured someone might help me out. I'll have to investigate this Google you speak of...
Orch of the Medium is the instrumental track at the beginning.
whats the opening song of the video??
Nine years late but Orch of the Medium. :)
Just walks off stage lol
Todd sounding like a Canadian.
Fuck you, dude. Canadians rock. You sound like a dumb hick from Trumpville America!
@@cdwarren9360 i just meant it was funny when he said daus of the new like a Canadian accent.
This is Midwestern Rock! 🤘I got friends from Canada too.
lol 2:52 wtf ?? xD!
Too bad the drugs took Travis over. Waste of talent due to drugs. Now he isn't doing much of anything, besides getting arrested for it.
He is NOT A WAIST OF TALENT! He was very young and impressionable when he started not to mention that nasty form of autism he has!!! Im pulling for him always have always will! I hope hell get better, hes already left us with amazing music,,, so its far from waisted! Shame on you!
+MADAICCHICK 90's rocked Are you serious right now? I don't think you know what the term, "waste of talent." Means. I'm saying that since the drugs basically took his life over, we aren't seeing much work from Travis and the fact we have no new albums IS a waste of talent, because he is very talented. Calm down lady.
yep and a pretty substantial meth habit,unforunately........BUt hey other than that he's fuckin brilliant right?
Played to a backing track o think
