It appeals to me that, the majority of people who are attracted to meeks' music, you know, from yellow green to red. The b sides all blew our minds in so many ways
I picked up a guitar probably in part to Tony Iommi/David Gilmour/Jimmy Page....later Jerry Cantrell, Paul Kossoff, Lindsey Buckingham.....players that traversed a “different” path on the instrument. About a month ago “How Do You Know You” snuck it’s way into my Spotify....threw the Orange album in for the first time since I started playing guitar/being attracted to the melody.....mind blown. Aside from his songwriting...his sense of melody is like nothing I’ve ever heard before. And mother of gawdddd that guitar playing, and those tunings, so uniquely original - what a talent. Oh, and I’d stack him up there with those players I mentioned.
To anyone reading the comments of this video, I am completely obsessed with this song and have been for years. It's seriously one of the greatest songs I've ever heard, and it's criminal how it isn't stream-able.
I just found this song through a piece written about Travis Meeks....as I was wondering where he is now..... I'm on my 3rd time listening to this effing masterpiece! He's also retired from music and the spotlight, he just wants to live his own life. He already reached best of all time status if you asked me so he's earned that..

One of the biggest tragedies from 90s rock. Travis Meeks was a musical genius..until he fell into drug abuse and addiction. Nothing compares to the three cds they managed to put out. I never heard this before its a nice surprise but brings me back to thoughts of what could have been for this band. i hope he has cleaned up..hope he can muster a come back.

It truly is, I was so lucky to find it too. I had it years ago on CD in my Maxima with a Bose 🔊🔊🔊🔊 stereo. IT JAMS FOR ME, AND MOST OF THE OTHERS DO TOO. Extraordinary talent, playing, singing, mixing the whole 9 yards. Once I heard DOTN, I was HOOKED.
Will, completely agree. The B sides nobody knows about are way deeper and more complex. Much more enjoyable, although I still like songs on his releases, it opened up a new world when I discovered all of his unreleased material.

This song was released along side with the 3rd Days Of The New album (red). Newbury comics had a sleeve attached to the CD as a bonus to those who bought it at release. I was $2 short of being able to purchase. So close!
Thanks for finding and posting this early gem! Just saw the Intervention episode with Travis from 2005... even cleaned up, the horrible damage from crystal meth addiction is evident in his face and his voice.
the delayed release of purple is also due to the fact he has no money. the IRS gets his royalties, this is why he is constantly touring these days. there were also a LOT of problems with the record labels. there is a video somewhere on here that is an interview and he talks about this.
I would gladly pay for this song if I could, but obviously that's impossible. Therefore, I've used Audacity to record the song from RUclips. It's freeware, and with practice you can make the quality great and create an mp3. There's other ways as well. Hope this helps some people.

Hell yeah, my brother, they've been my favorite band since I was six years old. Ha ha! Got dear old dad to thank for that. He took me for a ride one day and popped Cowboys From Hell into the tape deck of his old rusted out Malibu, turned the volume all the way up in his halfway blown speakers and told me that I was about to hear what 'real metal' was. They scared the shit outta me when I first heard them. Then the tape ended and I was like 'play it again'. Ha ha ha! Pantera is the greatest gift I've ever been given.
