    I just wanted to say thank you for these videos! They are so helpful and I’m currently watching about 2 dozen wigglers. Eggs were on a flower pot and I moved them as you do to their own container with some methylene blue. I didn’t think any were going to make it honestly so I was so happy to see movement in there!
    Again thank you!!!!

      That's awesome! Your welcome and I remember when I started "to try" and breed german blue rams there was very few videos on how to actually do it and show results. Glad to be able to help others! Thank You

      haha thank you. i move them up to larger tanks as possible with my own personal space and the sponge filters get me by with frequent larger water changes. also the room is heated to 80 degrees.

    Wow great job! Is that your own line of Blue Rams? How exactly are different lines of Rams or Guppies created? I know live-bearer aquarist generally understand how all that genetic stuff works. I assume it could be applied to any kind fish for the most part?

    • @pittsburghpets3759
      @pittsburghpets3759  5 лет назад +2

      Thank you! They are the german blue ram, I bred them for 3 years. Can breed for certain traits like larger body, longer fins, more color, ect. The rams aren't going to change very much over time as guppies can change a lot over a generation or two. But yes can be applied one way or another in any kind of fish.

    Very cool. You must have soft water. I tried breeding rams a while back but could not get the eggs to hatch without using ro water. My tap water is like liquid rock.

    What's your water's ph level? Im in southern california and my water's ph is 7.6. I have 2 gbr's in my planted 55 gallon tank right now and they are thriving. But idk if its ok? The water they were in when i got them has the same ph as mine...same city.

    I have a 20 gallon long tank and a small angel fish with 2 dwarf gouramis and my German blue ram ever since I got him has been chasing my dwarf gouramis all over the place and even my angel fish I times he nips at them also my angel fishes big top fun has been crunched by him I have him in a plastic container now out of the tank with I bubbler what should I do I need help fast

    • @pittsburghpets3759
      @pittsburghpets3759  7 лет назад

      depending on water quality (nitrates) and frequency/percentage of water change, and if the tank is established and running for multiple months or more. I would add more fish. more of the same or even different fish like zebra danios or live bearers, platies would be a good one fore body shape/fin and size. will help divert aggression and neutralize all the fish. hope this is helpful

      Pittsburgh Pets great news I took him out of the tank for awhile and did a 50% water change and he's been doing amazing all day and everyone is getting along I have 2 male dwarf gouramis 1 angel fish a little bigger than a quarter 2 long finned tetras and 1 super tiny baby guppy they gave me accidentally at the pet store do you still think I should get a coupe of the fish you suggested?

    • @pittsburghpets3759
      @pittsburghpets3759  7 лет назад +1

      that's awesome! glad to hear that. long as you can find healthy platies or other fish that you like, wouldn't hurt to add them in after a week or so and can bring the ram back at the same time of adding the new fish. totally up to you, that's the beuti of a fish tank. everything is your call and in your hands. having a fish tank is like care for your own little world.

    • @ComanderStryker23
      @ComanderStryker23 7 лет назад

      Pittsburgh Pets thanks so much for helping me out and I forgot to mention I actually put him back in the tank after the water change and he did great with all of the fish and hasn't chased anyone around for the whole day and he's even started to eat which is great! And I'll look around for some platies like you said thanks so much for the help!
