I'm not bashing any bands out there. They all work very hard to entertain us. But, I love this version of the Marching Force. Great job Hampton. You make us proud.
I like the use of the Wakandan spears (by Ebony Fire) as part of the show. This is really very African. I love it! Hats off to Dr. Thomas Jones, band director. Actually, I am an A&T alumnus, so double hats off to you since you were formerly one of the band directors at A&T. Regarding the use of spears, I hope that Hampton uses this more and that other HBCUs (particularly A&T) begin its use as a way to preserve and honor our African/Bantu heritage in a unique and regal way and display.
My favorite band beside my own alma mater. My wife and mother in law are proud graduates of Hampton. Glad to support them at Honda in 2018, this year in Chicago, and again at Honda this year. Keep up the great work Dr. Jones and staff.
Dr. Jones, I am so happy you are at Hampton, our Home by the Sea!!! I was sad to see you leave A&T, my other favorite HBCU, but I knew you would inevitably end up at our alma mater!!! The Force is doing great things! That show was wonderfully executed and well thought out. Seeing the initial footage from other perspectives, I didn’t hear the narration or see the full intro to the performance. It totally makes sense after seeing this production. Thank you for that and Thanks for paying homage to Hampton’s history, while incorporating the theme with Wakanda. Very creative. AWESOME JOB!!!
Hampton had a great season but let’s pump the breaks. Norfolk has a resume of musical tradition that spands decades among the elites... lets see where this stint goes going forward for the force before we start making these kind of comments.
Unless Paul Adams or Sanford makes a return it’s over. The 2019 legion was about the same size as 2010 and musically not even close. Some times theirs just a shift. Norfolk is not that band anymore their shows lack substance and creativity, Hampton has closed the gap way too fast. Norfolk does not travel, you can’t bring kids there with them knowing they are going to go anywhere all season. Norfolk seems like they practice all year for a&t now
I am just now seeing this. From a member of “Black Magic” back in the day, let me congratulate The Marching Force on an amazing show! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Song choices, musicianship and precision on the field! 👍🏽 Makes me feel a little better about the year 2020. 😉
Dr. Jones it was an amazing show, I have seen great progress over the years. Congratulations to you, your staff and the Marching Force. You can see the dedication of the organization paying off. Looking forward to seeing the Marching Force in the Macy’s Parade.
Sheeshhhhh as a Spartan legion fan. I will say this. We need to get our ish together or Hampton is gonna be that band around here. The legion is going in the wrong direction. This show is revolutionary. Nsu shows have become so predictable. Drill. Dancer song. Dance routine. “Sideline blowdown” you can tell there are too many “thinkers” in the room over there anymore. Looks lazy. Hampton show required some thought. If The band director at nsu doesn’t want to do it anymore just leave bro. You making us look silly compared to this
Spartan Mania, NSU doesn’t sound bad and is very much a great band. They have a strong foundation and they always have great energy, a solid show, and a solid sound regardless of size. Yes, they do have a template for their field shows but all bands do. Let’s not forget that this is a Honda show where creativity is a must. Where is your loyalty? Yes Hampton did an amazing Job and their Director is my former arranger and was like the assistant director of my high school band; The Brooklyn Steppers. He is extremely creative. After reading your post I must say it is pretty disappointing seeing that you are a Spartan. #DizzyForLife
@@trumpfolife but Spartan Mania, while I'm sure will never waver as a Legion, he is correct. All of the Force's shows have been creative, not just for the HBOTB. This is the direction Dr. Jones is taking the Force. As a member of the original Force, I like where the program is going.
Lmao that comment about Norfolk’s band director not answering phone calls is hilarious. Must be why they didn’t travel outside of their own city the entire year. #HUMF proud that our director backs down from no one. It’s funny because Norfolk’s band is a reflection of their director and they’ve gotten SOFT
Stop with the excuses bro. Thomas is a clear example of what happens when you stop making excuses and start taking action. Norfolk got new uniforms and new drums last season. Money is coming from somewhere.
And the soft part you know you’re bugging out 😂 cause Hampton would’ve died this year if they stood in front of us. Everybody knows that. They pep band was barely cranking on 40 of us. Y’all had one good season which was this year I’ll give them props but keep Norfolk our y’all comments my g 😂
Matthew Macanhay Please never fix your fingers to type some bullshit like this again😂😂 you don’t know anything about what you’re talking about. Hampton is not even on the Legions level.
I WAS WAITING FOR HU FANFARE AND YALL DIDNT DISAPPOINT BEST SHOW OF THE YEAR HANDS DOWN. DRUM MAJORS YALL LOOK AMAZING!!!!!!!! BEST SHOW YET!!!!
I'm not bashing any bands out there. They all work very hard to entertain us. But, I love this version of the Marching Force. Great job Hampton. You make us proud.

Dr. Jones.... KEEP GOING!!!!! This is rich I tell you.
Norfolk had a nice ride as the best band in Virginia. But that’s it. Musically they don’t have the director to compete with Thomas Jones.
????????

@@MrDajohnson2012 facts Norfolk just hasnt gotten same opportunity as other bands and the are well deserving. They are one of the best bands to me.

THIS IS NOT GOOD; FLORIDA A&M WAS GREAT
Karen Grayer This was a very creative show. FAMU is good & big; ....not great
FAMU is just BIG. No creativity.
This was total trash just saying this been played out back on the 80's
Yeah, I remember when Black Panther came out 30 years ago. We are so behind the times.
ROOSTER W this was not trash at all
Thomas L. Jones, Jr. I live for your responses
Comments from the GED section... gotta love it!!
