Hazards, which on their own are containable become a nightmare when a neighbouring firm moves their hazardous material next to the boundary. Hydrants are never adequate for the fire risk. As an example a large part of the Cammell Laird shipyard was sold off for development. In 2010 a very large warehouse on the site went on fire. There was a huge amount of different types of flammable goods stored there. To the side there is a petrol filling station and to the rear a gas bottling plant.
