Im 60yr, from the UK. Family-of-six holidays from essex to wales or scotland, and many places in between, were done in a VW beetle😁 when we moved to Australia first family car was holden kingswood😊 more room for those trips to grandparents in swan hill or family trips up the coast to various spots, incl. QLD, but none of comforts of these cars😁 im not a parent but i can see why these vehicles would be much more appealing than a kingswood or beetle😁 although its funny what you can cope with or put up with if need be😁

Great review guys. But I still dont see why Rich and Emily need 8 seater car from this review. All the test can be done the same on 7 seater. I suppose what I want to see is out of the 3, which one accomodate 8 people the best (in comfort, space, is the performance the same when in full load, etc). Anyway, maybe next time 😊

Why doesn't the Kia in Australia come with the digital instrumentation like USA spec Carnival MPV? Also, I much prefer the traditional gear shifter, which is found in the USA model, unlike the rotary knob shifter in Australia.

Covid electronic shortages on the right-hand drive is the reason. Its also missing auto wipers.

Our new Kia Carnival is being towed back to the dealership for a 2nd time in its first 5 months as it loses all power while accelerating in hot weather. It was supposedly fixed but happened less than 1 week earlier and is going to cause a serious accident stopping in the middle of the road. I am warning people to be careful - seems to also be an issue for people in Canada in freezing temperatures. Diesel model only.

The latest minivan diesel car is required to make sure it is filled with urea.

Carnival is technically not a SUV like the Palisade and the Pathfinder.

    2nd seat high
    Pathfinder: too tall
    Carnival: which is good
I know this biased vid has no value to me.
Still can be used as a reference tho

Shopping centre carpark battle more like it...i found a parking bay but i cant open my doors...LOL...SUVs are bigger but parking bays are not...Most moms will find these near impossible to park...this takes the shine off owning big SUVs...Get real people !!!

@@chrunilee459It depends if you are buying a showroom model or ordering one. We put in an order for a diesel Special Edition (platinum minus Bose sound system and ventilated seats), $65k driveaway with a towbar. They have a 6-9 month wait time though, so all the floor stock is heavily marked up to take advantage of that.

@@gertrudespants If you don't mind me asking, did you haggle price?
Or haggling is a taboo word now because we live in the car shortage world 😅?

Can you suggest best family car ( 7 seater ) with good off road capability .
    Budget :- 50k

    • @gertrudespants
      @gertrudespants Год назад

Assuming a new car and by 'good off-road' you mean having a 4WD system with low range and decent ground clearance/towing, probably a SsangYong Rexton ELX is your best bet ($49k driveway). $50k isn't much of a budget these days unfortunately.
Pajero Sport could also work, if you don't really plan to use the 3rd row (it is very cramped and the boot basically disappears when in use).

    • @jameskim9909

its very bias, pathfinder is really great vehicle. you guys are unnecessarily harsh to it.

    • @abwk3478

Agree with you. Did a test drive and bought a Pathfinder and it is a great car. Japanese made, reliable, great resale value, luxury and excellent ride quality with very quiet cabin noise. All against the reviewer. If you want honest good reviews, watch Carwow(Matt) of CarExpert (Paul) google reviews and you see completely opposite reviews and real comments.

This review seems more like, "What is better, more practical for a family? An SUV or a people mover". Of course the carnival will win. Why don't you compare 'like' cars? Compare a Carnival to an Odyssey.
