His voice is supposed to invoke a powerful reaction from the audience. This is the definition of that kind of performance. Lee Williams and Willie Banks are two other singers who perform this way. They stood still while singing and sent audiences into a frenzy. All 3 of these great singers are missed.

I met Willie through Johnny Jones and Percy at a Swanee show years ago. Very humble and kind men. Honestly I didn't know who he was until much later.
