I love the fact that actresses in their fifties like Nicole get a lot of work years ago when an actress turned forty they were reduced to supporting roles or go to television for leading roles this was when TV was thought of as a step down so much has changed thank god!!!

Whoopi has been getting on my nerves for awhile now with her attitude that whatever she says is fact. She power tripped waaaaay too hard with that BS she pulled last Monday. It really made me sick to my stomach 😬
It's her inarticulate speech that trips me up. She fumbles and stumbles over words and half the time I have no idea what she was trying to say! She often is chewing (yes, disgusting) and/or seems a bit 'out of it' (hmmm ... I'll leave that one to ponder).

I had difficulty getting through Lucy & Dezi bc of Nicole’s makeup and accident--I never believed and always saw Nicole Kidman unlike Javier Bardiem. Anyhow her other projects I’ve lost myself in the movie etc and saw her as the character. So I was surprised she was nominated.

Great segment here. Nicole Kidman is a multi talented actress. Her starring role in mid 90s dark Comedy, ‘To Die For’ , put her on my radar and was shocked and delighted to learn she wasn’t American.

When I was a teen they were filming in my city of Brampton.I was heading home on the bus and she was sitting outside on the set sunning or something. I ran to the window and yelled out " Niiiicooooole Kidman" All the passengers ran to the window to see. She waved and said hello - it was exciting. She was filming this movie. It's a great memory.

Kristen Stewart is campaigning HARD for that trophy. I'm gonna be so disappointed if Stewart wins. She plays the same character in almost everything I've seen her in. Meanwhile, Nicole Kidman utterly vanishes on film into the roles she plays, and she honestly did a much better impression of Lucy than Stewart could bring for Diana unless you like your Diana exactly like Twilight-Bella.

I just love her work -- The Interpreter remains one of my very favorite pieces. I also keep her rendition of The Stepford Wives around and watch it two or three (sometimes four) times a year. Classic. Lucy and Desi's story have been told many times by now -- I am beyond picky over anyone trying to imitate Lucy, but I have to say that Nicole did Lucy justice. Well done.
I loved the film the performance and the more i think about it. The more i want to watch the film again. Im also inspired to watch more I love Lucy episodes and the documentary thats on amazon next month.

I like Nicole, but I heard Sorkin deaged her face using CGI. That's creepy. That sounds like when the director of The Black Swan used CGI to stick Natalie Portman's head on a dancer's body. I like it when actors are the real thing, not fake computerized ones.

I enjoyed her in that movie, but the movie was Ok.
Nicole Kidman is at the top of my list of best and favorite actors, alongside Katharine Hepburn, Bette Davis, Kate Winselet, Cate Blanchett, Claire Danes, Rosalind Russell, Lucille Ball and a few others. She is extraordinary. Her performances in Eyes Wide Shut, The Others, The Hours, To Die For, Moulin Rouge!...and the list goes on...incredible. I even think she was very good as Samantha Stevens in the much-derided Bewitched movie. There were moments throughout about half the movie during which she totally embodied Elizabeth Montgomery's Samantha. There were no such moments in Being the Ricardos, unfortunately. She obviously put a lot of effort into the role and studied Ball meticulously and imitated her as best she could, but Kidman's facial modifications are extremely distracting in the movie, she didn't nail the voice as she clearly tried to do, she is not funny in the way Ball is funny. (Who is? Although Frances Fisher was *very* good as Lucy Ricardo in an old TV movie if I remember it correctly.) She gave it her best effort, but as b-r-i-l-l-i-a-n-t an actor as Kidman is, Lucille Ball was beyond her grasp, and it certainly does not help that the writing of Being the Ricardos was abysmally unconvincing and poorly researched, and that the direction was competent at best. The script made so many errors that anyone who has read Ball's memoir or a history of Desilu would immediately recognize. It was strange that the movie introduced an ahistoric call with J.Edgar Hoover (why?!), that it positioned William Frawley as a kindly old man, that it suggested Vivian Vance was preoccupied with vanity and was a rival and underling of Lucy's, when in reality, Vance styled herself with clothes that were too small and tight and intentionally gave herself a bad hairdo to look older and frumpier from the beginning, and she and Lucille were close friends, probably best friends, for the remainder of their lives. Nicole Kidman deserves more Oscar nominations and wins (She certainly deserved one for The Others and was denied it because the Academy doesn't award haunted house movies, and I think she deserved at least a nomination for Eyes Wide Shut.), but for this movie? It makes no sense except as a consolation prize for having overlooked her brilliance for the past several decades.

I saw Being The Ricardos, and I saw Spencer. I'm gonna puke if Stewart wins for Spencer. Kidman gave so much more because she disappears into her roles, but Stewart is the same painfully disgusted, bored, broody character that she's been playing since Twilight. It was Bella-Diana for Spencer; absolutely no Diana at all, not even her famous blue eyes!! BUT NICOLE KIDMAN totally nailed Lucy. No one but Lucy occupied the space she claimed in every scene. Amazing! Lucy herself woulda been entertained!
