Nicole doesn’t get enough credit for Big Little Lies, even with those Emmys. Easily one of the best performances in recent TV history. Completely blew everyone out of the water.
Really? Big Little Lies was very dull, and not much happening. Seemed very contrived. I think it's only getting praise because of the big names in it.
I was SO let down by that show. It is sooooooo dull and predictable. I don’t like any of the characters and this is the type of show I normally go for. I loved SATC, love Girls, and pretty much all female oriented shows. I just kept waiting to care about these characters and I never did.

Actually I was not the lover of that show but nicole's acting was amazing.

It's funny, I feel like Nicole has a bit of a reputation for being cold but every time I've seen her interviewed (like here and on Fallon) she's so sweet and almost endearingly awkward. Love her.
Megan Ripley I have seen a more relaxed Nicole Kidman since she married Keith Urban. When she was married to Tom she seemed nervous and uptight.
She has said many times that she is very shy. It must be hard.
She is ALWAYS giggling. So Adorable!! I love the way she handles Letterman. He's such a Douche!!! She just laughs and gives it right back to him. Truly classic!
She is just a little shy at times which makes her come across that way.
That's so funny. I've had that impression of her too, but when I saw those awkward interviews with her and Jimmy Fallon it completely changed my opinion of her.
Am I the only one who thought she was funny *because* she was awkward? She was the best kind of awkward guest. Instead of the one awkward one who doesn't talk at all and only replies in one syllable words she was the adorable awkward one.

Honest;y almost all the interviews I've seen her give are somewhat like this. As weird as it is to say, I think she's uncomfortable in front of other people, and definitely uncomfortable talking about herself,. Just my impression.

I know some of you talk about Jennifer Lawrence seeming down to earth in interviews, but I think Nicole Kidman certainly comes off that way and has an elegance to go with it. A classy lady.

Wonderful interview full of genuine chemistry. When Kidman first came out, it felt like Colbert was subtly flirting, and his admiration was obvious. Then when he whipped out the Latin and Italian, the tables turned, and Kidman's flustered blush was adorable. I love these two, and I love them together.
She seems like a real sweetheart AND a powerful genius. :D Their conversation took a while to pick up, but became very genuine and awesome.

Stephen was low key flirting with her. I've seen him interview a lot of celebrities but this one felt like he was fanboying pretty hard. Last time he flirted this hard was with Andy Serkis.
That's the reason I miss Craig Ferguson's show so much...watching a master at work; all those bombshells on his show openly flirting with him. It can be hard not to hate him for the same reason; I def. have broguish rogue envy. If only....

DearMakeUpDiary Ever think that Bewitched was a bomb she'd prefer to not remember. Every actor has a bomb in their past and if they drop the hint that they don't remember, be smart enough to read between the lines. As far as Cruise is concerned, his over the top belief in Scientology would and has driven the most desirable woman to go nuts. She hasn't done bad for herself after dumping TC. There is life after Cruise.
Agreed, it doesn't surprise me that Bewitched was hardly a memorable experience for her. It was just another pay-check and an outright bomb. It's only mildly interesting as it was one of Will Ferrell's early 'leading man' roles after his breakthrough success with 'Elf'. It was a lesson learned there, as clearly he wasn't cut-out for this kind of Rom-Com kind of Genre - not that it was a straight Rom-Com, but as a leading man in a Comedy with a prominent Romantic sub-plot I presume, requiring his chemistry with Kidman, it's no surprise it didn't work out. Ferrell found his niche sticking to his more comfortable Schtick with all those out there, crazy roles and ensemble and buddy Comedy movies, like the Anchorman series and films co-starring with Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Hart, John C. Reilly, Jon Heder, Zach Galifianakis etc... to mixed quality, but delivering to audience expectations within that space. For Kidman too, she was a little out of her element in that space and having to partner Ferrell - maybe a good idea on paper, but in-practice I guess not so much. Hollywood already was obsessed with remakes and re-hashes, playing on the nostalgia of old childhood favourites then - it's only gotten worse since.

It's so funny I know the EXACT scene stephen referenced in Bewitched. You see on camera she literally lights up and you can't help but fall for her and the character, it's incredible.
She's a great actor, that scene in the way she expressed the symbiosis of the characters was very beautiful
Really interesting to watch how Stephen has to earn Nicole's trust during the interview. Her initial hesitancy is easy to empathise with given the practical realities of her life. But, the visible shift once won over and the then easy sharing of a genuine if brief connection is really nice. She's an important artist.
I don't know why Stephen was surprised to kiss both of Nicole's cheeks. If I was given the opportunity I would _gladly_ kiss all four.
