    How heavenly it would be to just walk thru the greenhouse and pick whatever plants and mosses you wanted or needed.
    I saw Juris use this moss technique in one of his videos. I will try it one day, with gloves, of course, or I would be stuck to the driftwood too, lol.

    Love this scape, wish I'd known about the technique to attach moss when I first set up my tank, that's the exact look I was going for - watching this makes me want to chuck out the old wood & moss and start again :'D
    Also, what's the white frosted (?) material you've used around the back & sides?

    I used that same method to glue java moss on my wood. Even though I put so much moss on the glue that some of it floated away as I filled up the tank, I had visible white spots for weeks, until the moss grew enough to cover it, although that must have been because my moss was a lot more thin/stringy. Another issue with covering hardscape with so many individual strands of moss is that it becomes so dense, you can't have it keep growing entire bushes, because it will start rotting at the base. I needed to remove a fistful of moss because the rotting was causing water quality issues in my nano tank. (I cut off the rotting parts and just skewered the remaining mass on a piece of driftwood, my shrimp are happy.)

    Woo! It's the Bromance Boys scaping together - and what a good job you did. I've seen the method Jurijs used with the moss before. Actually on his channel! Instead of fish I'd go for shrimps and snails for a change.

    Hi George, I realise it’s a little late in the day but can you give some advice regarding 1. how fast growing the Tropica “Easy” in vitro stem plants are in comparison to the regular potted Tropica plants? (I’d like to be able to avoid introducing any possible contaminants from the set-up) 2. Would a Dennerle Trocal 18 watt (1680 lumens) be too powerful e.g. in terms of facilitating algae, in a low-tech 35 litre Scaper’s Tank?

    I'm sure that this is not the first time someone has used this technique for removing rock wool from plant roots, but I use a fork - does a better job that the tweezers. Maybe that's not a good idea? I am very gentle, making sure I don't injure the roots.

    Thanks George. Wanted to comment before I watch your video. I'm excited to watch this video since I purchased a Dennerle Scapers Tank (on Tank Tested recommendation) about 1 month ago. I'm not the aquascape artist that you are. I have scaped the tank a few times, and still not the way I want it. Although I loved the look of the LED light it came with, I replaced it with a Twinstar LED Light (EA Series), no CO2, and recently purchased a Viv Do Device from Brooklyn Aquascape - sleek looking air stone. What do you think about an air stone instead of CO2? I really don't want to have to use CO2 as I have enough on my hands with one betta and lots of plants in a 10 gallon.

    • @mscalucas
      @mscalucas 5 лет назад

      OK - I watched the video. Lovely aquascape. My problem is definitely the hardscape. It's not dramatic enough. I think I can over come that though by gluing my 3 pieces of lovely mopani driftwood that I have into a triangular sculpture. I will have that "aha!" moment one of these days.

    Hey George,
    nice scape ! :)
    Now im wondering something Tropica related that i cant find back..
    In a video of yours you talked about Tropica Specialised Fertiliser and how you used it,
    Now for the love of all things aquascaping i cant seem to find back the video and im wondering how you use the product.
    I have a 30 L Nano Cube with Tropica Aqua Soil and now also the specialised fertiliser, should i do the recommended 1 pump per week or do you recommend a dif. amount / more days or something, cant recall it :(
    Hope to hear back ! :D

    • @GeorgeFarmerStudios
      @GeorgeFarmerStudios  5 лет назад +1

      Depends on your lighting, CO2, plant density etc. I’d go with one pump every few days with low energy. 1 pump per day high energy

      @@GeorgeFarmerStudios Thank you so much,
      At the moment just running Tropica Aquasoil + 6watt / 8000 kelvin leddy smart plant light v2. (also running an overkill, i like it, Eheim 250 classic external filter)
      So ill probably go with a pump every few days, currently in week 2 of my startup cycle so i change water every other day, might add the fertiliser in the days between changes ?

      I live in Denmark and I agree with that statement. I used to order from Germany. A Danish guy ordering a Danish product from Germany. For German prices. The quality of the plants that needs more care seems to be B grade when they hit the store I use. I really want to support local stores, but the plants are such in bad shape that when I was asked if I wanted to help customers with their plants, I couldn't say yes. Sure, the easiest of them will be fine, but I have 0 experience with that kind of plants.
