Just from the short clips thus far (and Dante's Inferno), Stu definitely is a perfect mix of Barlow's low and mid range, and he can definitely hit the highs and do some great falsetto. Can't wait to hear Dystopia!
Iced Earth Feb, 09/2012 in Winnipeg, MB with Symphony X n' Warbringer... And Guess who's going?..... Me. Whoo Hoo! Can't wait, Only a few day away. \m/.
Yea he's got a really fleshed out range. He sounds a bit more comfortable on the uppers than Matt, and he sounds almost identical to Matt on the low parts. And I think his mixed voice has less breaks than Barlow. Jon really lucked out with this guy. What a find. Very impressed thus far.
It's kind of crazy how Stu Block sounds so much like a cross between Barlow and Owens. He's got a low end similar to Barlow's, and his high end sounds almost spot on like Owens'.
@jdofdoom Same. When I heard the Dante's Inferno re-make, I was extremely disappointed. But the actual stuff that was made for Stu on the album... sounds pretty fucking cool.
@lagnok Its Ok mate...I am not a big Iced Earth Fan I like 15-20 songs more or less thats all... I Loved Matt but Stu sounds really nice... I will acknowledge him if he sings Dracula live! :)
@MarioDesignerNatal That be Stu dude. He's got a great low range, much better than Tim's, and almost on par with Barlow's. Ol' Stucifer is a welcome addition to the Iced Earth family.
@lioubinos99 dont get me wrong, he sounds like he has a crackin voice, and the music itself sounds like good, modern iced earth, I highly doubt it will be a bad album, but this guy does not appear to have as recogniseable a voice as barlow or owens: iI wish schaffer had hired someone with a more unique sound, but whatever, maybe he will surprise us all
interesting. i wasn't sure how stu block would do on vocals. not that he lacks any talent, because he doesn't, i just wasn't sure he was the right fit. i love barlow and hearing new iced earth makes me miss him more, but this new sound really intrigues me.
Although I find Stu to be a good vocalist, from the first time I saw him perform, he acted as a poser; he very much tried to copy Barlow. All posers eventually quit, and he did...poser. Long live Iced Earth. My respect and appreciation To John.
hail Iced Earth!! musical integrity and wisdom ....
John Schaffer is the Confucius of heavy metal!
Jon gives the impression of being a sincere, honest person.
This is the best of the webisodes. Awesome song and collaboration between the parts involved in the band as well as production. amazing!
I have a feeling this is going o be the best Iced Earth release yet.
I'm loving what I'm hearing.
Good times. I like these clips showing a bit of the creative process.
Just from the short clips thus far (and Dante's Inferno), Stu definitely is a perfect mix of Barlow's low and mid range, and he can definitely hit the highs and do some great falsetto. Can't wait to hear Dystopia!
man Stu is really impressing me, im a guy whos followed and been a huge fan of Matt for ages but damn, im def not dissapointed by this guy so far.
Stu's awesome, his range is amazing. Man him and Matt are two great singers.
"Dude he is a loud singer man." Which is why Stu Block is awesome
Damn! Stu has such incredible depth.
Can't wait for this album
Can't wait to hear the whole album! My hype couldn't be higher!!!

Yea he's got a really fleshed out range. He sounds a bit more comfortable on the uppers than Matt, and he sounds almost identical to Matt on the low parts. And I think his mixed voice has less breaks than Barlow. Jon really lucked out with this guy. What a find. Very impressed thus far.
the 2 new songs on the cd of the german rock hard sound fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!
He sounds like both of them. It's insane.
I completely agree there.
sounds mindblowing
It's kind of crazy how Stu Block sounds so much like a cross between Barlow and Owens. He's got a low end similar to Barlow's, and his high end sounds almost spot on like Owens'.
@brucekirk89 Dude Barlow left, they have a new singer Stu Block and he's badass.
WAITING FOR CHILE!!!!
To think Jon would piss all this hard work away for the grabber
Love Barlow but I NEED to hear this album.

It's been said before, but Stu is amazing... What genre cant he sing?
@lagnok well ye. i thought they were using one of the old tracks first.
@jdofdoom Same. When I heard the Dante's Inferno re-make, I was extremely disappointed. But the actual stuff that was made for Stu on the album... sounds pretty fucking cool.
ICED EARTH - ANTHEM , RELEASE THIS FUCKING SINGLE!
We think we have plenty reasons to live until 17/10!
Boring? What the fuck? I'd give anything to hang out with these guys. Schaffer is one of my biggest influences.
Stu sounds fuckin awesome!
Ohh man! Who is singing in 2:12 to 2:15?
@lagnok Its Ok mate...I am not a big Iced Earth Fan I like 15-20 songs more or less thats all...
I Loved Matt but Stu sounds really nice...
I will acknowledge him if he sings Dracula live! :)
2:18
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@MarioDesignerNatal
That be Stu dude. He's got a great low range, much better than Tim's, and almost on par with Barlow's. Ol' Stucifer is a welcome addition to the Iced Earth family.
Love Into Eternity but I think with Iced Earth Stu Block is going to be used more effectively.
Wow! Stu's not bad at all!
Anyone else really missing Matt right now?!

@MarioDesignerNatal
stu block and john schaffer (Y)
RIPPER!!!
snare could be louder in my opinion ;)
Stu looks funny.. sounds good though!
that is your problem
at first i thought their engineer was devin townsend ;___;
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.... I hated Ripper
@metalbornmetalbred Fuck no. I love the guy but Stu sounds fucking awesome.
"Tune in: Katy Perry, Rihanna and Elton John streaming live from Rock in Rio Festival today at 5pm"
WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?"(&**&?!
sounds good, but is it just me or does he sound a BIT MUCH like barlow?
You don't recognise Jon Schaffer? Get the fuck out of here bro.
And Barlow is gone, Stu is the new vocalist.
Although I find Stu to be a good vocalist, from the first time I saw him perform, he acted as a poser; he very much tried to copy Barlow. All posers eventually quit, and he did...poser. Long live Iced Earth. My respect and appreciation To John.
