KZ has released the new AZ09 pro not too long ago and the new one is miles better than the old AZ09, KZ basically fixed almost all the complains from the old AZ09. The pro version comes with the newer Qualcomm 3040 chip which fixed the connection issue and dropouts that plaguing the old AZ09, has AptX codec (higher bitrate), 8 hours of battery life in a single charge, has gaming mode for lower audio latency and full power mode for an even louder volume.
@Band On A Budget i was abit late to get the original AZ09 too because I am still using my TRN BT20s pro and it has served me well even until today. Then I got the AZ09 but it turned out bad - dropouts and volume gain too high are my main gripes. Then the pro released and I ordered it right away and its awesome.
@Band On A Budget if yours doesn't do that, you most likely got a good one and won't suddenly start to dropouts. Mine is pretty bad as if I just put both my hand behind my head, it will start dropping outs even when my pc 3 feet away.
@Michael K I have been using AZ09 Pro from last one week, having one issue that even when Ear buds are in a charging case and charging case is closed it does not disconnect from my Phone. Do you face the same issue?
Thank you for the reply, I will stay tune for your next videos as well! I was also watching your KZ upgrade cables review and I got curious if there is some sound squality difference between a cable vs a KZ AZ09? By the way, I'm using the KZ DQ6. I will stay tuned on that one as well. Keep it up and thank you 😁
@Marlone Macapinlac the AZ09 pro is a definite upgrade from the original AZ09. I also have dq6 and the pro will drive it easily as it can even drive my moondrop Variations pretty well.
@@BandOnABudgetNZ Thanks for the reply and for the suggestion, you do some great reviews ♥️ as for the noise it's like white noise, the type that old TVs did back in the day. It's too noticeable on the left when it's quiet. Not ultra bad when playing sound but you just can't unhear it. If it was balanced white noise on both it would've been fine but one side is kinda bad. I'll try it on other IEMs when new ones come in.
@@BandOnABudgetNZ Yeah exactly, kind of unfortunate but that's just the chi-fi world i suppose, sometimes you get some bad ones. I'll probably go for the AZ09 Pro or the KZ earphones you recommended, they look awesome. Cheers ♥️
How are the products now? And which ear tips are u using with kz zsx? I have a kz zsx but the trebel is not clear enough and noisy. Do you have any suggestion? And I wanted to upgrade the copper cable. Should I go for the Az09 or 16core silver cable for improving sound?
I've seen a lot of reviews saying that the Bluetooth connection is spotty at best. Apparently, it requires a direct line of sight of the source (i.e. phone) for it to have a clear connection. Plenty of people have complained that putting their phone in their pocket or moving their head can disconnect one or both of the IEMs. Have would you rate the Bluetooth connection when in use? Have you experienced the aforementioned issues?
@@BandOnABudgetNZ Please do because getting one from where I live is a real hassle but I'm really interested in daily driving these with some ZSN Pro Xs! Want to make sure I'm making the right choice.
Yeah you can but you would only have to use one side and leave the other in the case. If you were wanting something like stereo music and then isolate a Left side for a call then I'm not sure if you can. I haven't explored this yet but I know you can use them individually instead of a stereo pair.

Personally I have problems using it with my pc (to be fair, my computer is quite far away from where I sit, I have a few things between me & the Bluetooth adapter I.e keyboard and cables. I have only had 1 pair of headphones work consistently with all of this) I got them to mostly stop dropping off and lagging, but it couldn’t handle combat music, works fine with my phone but Ive yet to wear them out and about (just got them today) I’m hoping it’s just my set up because I can change that.
Just the earphones, not the actual receiver. I have a playlist called "Earphones and IEMs" if you want to check some of those out specifically for IEMS for stage and musicians.
I own 2 pairs. Their bluetooth connections are both VERY unstable..it is a realtek chip model. Cheap gadget. Better to buy a new pro model, which is a qualcomm chip one.
@@BandOnABudgetNZ I purchased one of the 2 pairs this week and the other last week. I have been listening to youtube videos almost all day. They work mostly OK home, but often fail outside, downtown, in restaurants and cafes...some guys suspect the KZ bluetooth module is interfered with by public wifi waves, as bluetooth wave range partially overlaps that of wifi. Anyway, sudden music interruptions are uncomfortable, especially so when being absorbed in beautiful music with ZAX.
@@BandOnABudgetNZ My experience with AZ09 is quite negative, so I fear potential customers might be extremely biased against AZ09 by my comments. But be assured my comments refer to facts. I have also just now strengthened my assumption that AZ09 is quite vulnerable to electromagnetic interference, when finding AZ09 connection gets unstable - the right ZAX earbud stops sounding - EVERY time my kitchen microwave has started operating approx. 50 to 100 cm behind me. No exception. Please try running microwave near you, and lemme know the result.
@@BandOnABudgetNZ hi. Noted. Then, mine should be production lot defects - 2 of 2 purchases! Little or no post production quality inspection. I hear lots of connection failure complaints. You are lucky. I will consider making a due product quality claim with the supplier/manufacturer. Thanks.
@@LONE_PUPPY hey have you checked if your cellphone bluetooth codec is in AAC? I've seen a lot of people in other reviews talking about this problem and saying that changing the codec from SBC to AAC makes the connection and audio better. I hope that if you don't have it configured that way, it fixes your issue. Cheers! (btw I'm getting ones tomorrow, so I'll comment about my experience later)
I have 2 pairs of these and both of them are garbage, hard to pair and always cut off.I have 4 pair of trn bt 20 and no problem, the only issues is no charging case.
Get the APTX HD cable. Great quality, long battery life, quick recharge, stable BT connection. KZ09 is crap, not even capable of it's most basic function to maintain a BT connection. A waste of manufacturing resources and a waste of your money.
These are absolute trash do not buy them. I bought two both broke under 2 months. One pair stopped charging completly. The second pair had connectivity issues between the modules. Basically both worked but not together and then the right pair stopped connecting to any device. Honestly better to save up and get a good pair of BT headphones.
I have those. Price to performance the fiio are the worst, they cost too much at 85+ and are not better than the az 09 pro which you can find for 35€ And when you take into account that you can find the az 09 for 18€ they really don't have competition, yeah they aren't as good but really for the price it's almost a steal
Maybe but I'm not going to reward KZ with more of my money after being so disappointed with the AZ-09. Fool me once and all. I didn't even have high expectations because it was 20. But the cutout problems are so frequent that we really shouldn't have been released in that state.
3:06 Right receiver with Left earbud. Good thing you corrected it.

I don't see the purpose of bluetooth, sacrificing the quality while the base is just feets away or in your pocket
